  • Mark 15:4 - Then Pilate asked Him again, saying, “Do You answer nothing? See how many things they testify against You!”
  • Mark 15:5 - But Jesus still answered nothing, so that Pilate marveled.
  • Mark 15:6 - Now at the feast he was accustomed to releasing one prisoner to them, whomever they requested.
  • Mark 15:7 - And there was one named Barabbas, who was chained with his fellow rebels; they had committed murder in the rebellion.
  • Mark 15:8 - Then the multitude, crying aloud, began to ask him to do just as he had always done for them.
  • Mark 15:9 - But Pilate answered them, saying, “Do you want me to release to you the King of the Jews?”
  • Mark 15:10 - For he knew that the chief priests had handed Him over because of envy.
  • Mark 15:11 - But the chief priests stirred up the crowd, so that he should rather release Barabbas to them.
  • Mark 15:12 - Pilate answered and said to them again, “What then do you want me to do with Him whom you call the King of the Jews?”
  • Mark 15:13 - So they cried out again, “Crucify Him!”
  • Mark 15:14 - Then Pilate said to them, “Why, what evil has He done?” But they cried out all the more, “Crucify Him!”
  • Mark 15:15 - So Pilate, wanting to gratify the crowd, released Barabbas to them; and he delivered Jesus, after he had scourged Him, to be crucified.
  • Mark 15:16 - Then the soldiers led Him away into the hall called Praetorium, and they called together the whole garrison.
  • Mark 15:17 - And they clothed Him with purple; and they twisted a crown of thorns, put it on His head,
  • Mark 15:18 - and began to salute Him, “Hail, King of the Jews!”
  • Mark 15:19 - Then they struck Him on the head with a reed and spat on Him; and bowing the knee, they worshiped Him.
  • Mark 15:20 - And when they had mocked Him, they took the purple off Him, put His own clothes on Him, and led Him out to crucify Him.
  • Mark 15:21 - Then they compelled a certain man, Simon a Cyrenian, the father of Alexander and Rufus, as he was coming out of the country and passing by, to bear His cross.
  • Mark 15:22 - And they brought Him to the place Golgotha, which is translated, Place of a Skull.
  • Mark 15:23 - Then they gave Him wine mingled with myrrh to drink, but He did not take it.
  • Mark 15:24 - And when they crucified Him, they divided His garments, casting lots for them to determine what every man should take.
  • Mark 15:25 - Now it was the third hour, and they crucified Him.
  • Mark 15:26 - And the inscription of His accusation was written above: THE KING OF THE JEWS.

  • Mark 14:51 - Now a certain young man followed Him, having a linen cloth thrown around his naked body. And the young men laid hold of him,
  • Mark 14:52 - and he left the linen cloth and fled from them naked.
  • Mark 14:53 - And they led Jesus away to the high priest; and with him were assembled all the chief priests, the elders, and the scribes.
  • Mark 14:54 - But Peter followed Him at a distance, right into the courtyard of the high priest. And he sat with the servants and warmed himself at the fire.
  • Mark 14:55 - Now the chief priests and all the council sought testimony against Jesus to put Him to death, but found none.
  • Mark 14:56 - For many bore false witness against Him, but their testimonies did not agree.
  • Mark 14:57 - Then some rose up and bore false witness against Him, saying,
  • Mark 14:58 - “We heard Him say, ‘I will destroy this temple made with hands, and within three days I will build another made without hands.’ ”
  • Mark 14:59 - But not even then did their testimony agree.
  • Mark 14:60 - And the high priest stood up in the midst and asked Jesus, saying, “Do You answer nothing? What is it these men testify against You?”
  • Mark 14:61 - But He kept silent and answered nothing. Again the high priest asked Him, saying to Him, “Are You the Christ, the Son of the Blessed?”
  • Mark 14:62 - Jesus said, “I am. And you will see the Son of Man sitting at the right hand of the Power, and coming with the clouds of heaven.”
  • Mark 14:63 - Then the high priest tore his clothes and said, “What further need do we have of witnesses?
  • Mark 14:64 - You have heard the blasphemy! What do you think?” And they all condemned Him to be deserving of death.

  • Luke 23:18 - And they all cried out at once, saying, “Away with this Man, and release to us Barabbas”—
  • Luke 23:19 - who had been thrown into prison for a certain rebellion made in the city, and for murder.
  • Luke 23:20 - Pilate, therefore, wishing to release Jesus, again called out to them.
  • Luke 23:21 - But they shouted, saying, “Crucify Him, crucify Him!”
  • Luke 23:22 - Then he said to them the third time, “Why, what evil has He done? I have found no reason for death in Him. I will therefore chastise Him and let Him go.”
  • Luke 23:23 - But they were insistent, demanding with loud voices that He be crucified. And the voices of these men and of the chief priests prevailed.
  • Luke 23:24 - So Pilate gave sentence that it should be as they requested.
  • Luke 23:25 - And he released to them the one they requested, who for rebellion and murder had been thrown into prison; but he delivered Jesus to their will.

  • Luke 23:32 - There were also two others, criminals, led with Him to be put to death.
  • Luke 23:33 - And when they had come to the place called Calvary, there they crucified Him, and the criminals, one on the right hand and the other on the left.
  • Luke 23:34 - Then Jesus said, “Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they do.” And they divided His garments and cast lots.
  • Luke 23:35 - And the people stood looking on. But even the rulers with them sneered, saying, “He saved others; let Him save Himself if He is the Christ, the chosen of God.”
  • Luke 23:36 - The soldiers also mocked Him, coming and offering Him sour wine,

  • Matthew 27:23 - Then the governor said, “Why, what evil has He done?” But they cried out all the more, saying, “Let Him be crucified!”
  • Matthew 27:24 - When Pilate saw that he could not prevail at all, but rather that a tumult was rising, he took water and washed his hands before the multitude, saying, “I am innocent of the blood of this just Person. You see to it.”
