  • Exodus 19:12 - You shall set barriers for the people all around [the mountain], saying, ‘Beware that you do not go up on the mountain or touch its border; whoever touches the mountain must be put to death.
  • Exodus 19:13 - No hand shall touch him [that is, no one shall try to save the guilty party], but the offender must be stoned or shot through [with arrows]; whether man or animal [that touches the mountain], he shall not live.’ When the ram’s horn sounds a long blast, they shall come up to the mountain.”
  • Exodus 19:14 - So Moses went down from the mountain to the people and sanctified them [for God’s sacred purpose], and they washed their clothes.
  • Exodus 19:15 - He said to the people, “Be prepared for the third day; do not be intimate with a woman.”
  • Exodus 19:16 - So it happened on the third day, when it was morning, that there were thunder and flashes of lightning, and a thick cloud was on the mountain, and a very loud blast was sounded on a ram’s horn, so that all the people who were in the camp trembled.
  • Exodus 19:17 - Then Moses brought the people out of the camp to meet God, and they stood and presented themselves at the foot of the mountain.
  • Deuteronomy 6:1 - “Now this is the command; the statutes and the judgments (precepts) which the Lord your God has commanded me to teach you, so that you might do (follow, obey) them in the land which you are crossing over [the Jordan] to possess,
  • Deuteronomy 6:2 - so that you and your son and your grandson may fear and worship the Lord your God [with awe-filled reverence and profound respect], to keep [and actively do] all His statutes and His commandments which I am commanding you, all the days of your life, so that your days may be prolonged.
  • Deuteronomy 6:3 - Therefore listen, O Israel, and be careful to do them, that it may go well with you and that you may increase greatly [in numbers], as the Lord, the God of your fathers, has promised you, in a land flowing with milk and honey.
  • Isaiah 63:9 - In all their distress He was distressed, And the angel of His presence saved them, In His love and in His compassion He redeemed them; And He lifted them up and carried them all the days of old.
  • Deuteronomy 5:27 - You, Moses, go near and listen to everything that the Lord our God says; then speak to us everything that the Lord our God speaks to you, and we will listen and do it.’
  • Deuteronomy 5:28 - “The Lord heard your words when you spoke to me, and the Lord said to me, ‘I have heard the words of this people which they have spoken to you. They have done well in all that they have spoken.
  • Deuteronomy 5:29 - Oh that they had such a heart in them, that they would fear [and worship Me with awe-filled reverence and profound respect] and keep all My commandments always, so that it may go well with them and with their children forever!
  • Deuteronomy 5:30 - Go and say to them, “Return to your tents.”
  • Deuteronomy 5:31 - But as for you, stand here by Me, and I will tell you all the commandments and the statutes and the judgments which you shall teach them, so that they may obey them in the land which I give them to possess.’
  • Deuteronomy 33:4 - Moses commanded us with a law, As a possession for the assembly of Jacob.
  • Deuteronomy 32:46 - he said to them, “Take to heart all the words of warning which I am speaking to you today; and you shall command your children to observe them carefully—to do all the words of this law.
  • Deuteronomy 32:47 - For it is not an empty or trivial matter for you; indeed it is your [very] life. By [honoring and obeying] this word you will live long in the land, which you are crossing the Jordan to possess.”
  • John 1:17 - For the Law was given through Moses, but grace [the unearned, undeserved favor of God] and truth came through Jesus Christ.
  • Acts 7:53 - you who received the law as ordained and delivered to you by angels, and yet you did not obey it!”
  • 1 Peter 4:11 - Whoever speaks [to the congregation], is to do so as one who speaks the oracles (utterances, the very words) of God. Whoever serves [the congregation] is to do so as one who serves by the strength which God [abundantly] supplies, so that in all things God may be glorified [honored and magnified] through Jesus Christ, to whom belongs the glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen.
  • Romans 3:2 - Great in every respect. To begin with, the Jews were entrusted with the oracles of God [His very words].
  • Hebrews 5:12 - For though by this time you ought to be teachers [because of the time you have had to learn these truths], you actually need someone to teach you again the elementary principles of God’s word [from the beginning], and you have come to be continually in need of milk, not solid food.
