  • Revelation 3:3 - Go back to what you heard and believed at first; hold to it firmly. Repent and turn to me again. If you don’t wake up, I will come to you suddenly, as unexpected as a thief.

  • Luke 21:9 - And when you hear of wars and insurrections, don’t panic. Yes, these things must take place first, but the end won’t follow immediately.”
  • Luke 21:10 - Then he added, “Nation will go to war against nation, and kingdom against kingdom.
  • Luke 21:11 - There will be great earthquakes, and there will be famines and plagues in many lands, and there will be terrifying things and great miraculous signs from heaven.

  • Luke 21:20 - “And when you see Jerusalem surrounded by armies, then you will know that the time of its destruction has arrived.
  • Luke 21:21 - Then those in Judea must flee to the hills. Those in Jerusalem must get out, and those out in the country should not return to the city.
  • Luke 21:22 - For those will be days of God’s vengeance, and the prophetic words of the Scriptures will be fulfilled.
  • Luke 21:23 - How terrible it will be for pregnant women and for nursing mothers in those days. For there will be disaster in the land and great anger against this people.
  • Luke 21:24 - They will be killed by the sword or sent away as captives to all the nations of the world. And Jerusalem will be trampled down by the Gentiles until the period of the Gentiles comes to an end.
  • Luke 21:25 - “And there will be strange signs in the sun, moon, and stars. And here on earth the nations will be in turmoil, perplexed by the roaring seas and strange tides.
  • Luke 21:26 - People will be terrified at what they see coming upon the earth, for the powers in the heavens will be shaken.
  • Luke 21:27 - Then everyone will see the Son of Man coming on a cloud with power and great glory.
  • Luke 21:28 - So when all these things begin to happen, stand and look up, for your salvation is near!”
  • Luke 21:29 - Then he gave them this illustration: “Notice the fig tree, or any other tree.
  • Luke 21:30 - When the leaves come out, you know without being told that summer is near.
  • Luke 21:31 - In the same way, when you see all these things taking place, you can know that the Kingdom of God is near.
  • Luke 21:32 - I tell you the truth, this generation will not pass from the scene until all these things have taken place.
  • Luke 21:33 - Heaven and earth will disappear, but my words will never disappear.
  • Luke 21:34 - “Watch out! Don’t let your hearts be dulled by carousing and drunkenness, and by the worries of this life. Don’t let that day catch you unaware,
  • Luke 21:35 - like a trap. For that day will come upon everyone living on the earth.
  • Luke 21:36 - Keep alert at all times. And pray that you might be strong enough to escape these coming horrors and stand before the Son of Man.”
  • Amos 9:1 - Then I saw a vision of the Lord standing beside the altar. He said, “Strike the tops of the Temple columns, so that the foundation will shake. Bring down the roof on the heads of the people below. I will kill with the sword those who survive. No one will escape!
  • Amos 9:2 - “Even if they dig down to the place of the dead, I will reach down and pull them up. Even if they climb up into the heavens, I will bring them down.
  • Amos 9:3 - Even if they hide at the very top of Mount Carmel, I will search them out and capture them. Even if they hide at the bottom of the ocean, I will send the sea serpent after them to bite them.
  • Amos 9:4 - Even if their enemies drive them into exile, I will command the sword to kill them there. I am determined to bring disaster upon them and not to help them.”
  • Ezekiel 13:5 - They have done nothing to repair the breaks in the walls around the nation. They have not helped it to stand firm in battle on the day of the Lord.
  • Ezekiel 22:30 - “I looked for someone who might rebuild the wall of righteousness that guards the land. I searched for someone to stand in the gap in the wall so I wouldn’t have to destroy the land, but I found no one.
  • James 4:1 - What is causing the quarrels and fights among you? Don’t they come from the evil desires at war within you?
  • James 4:2 - You want what you don’t have, so you scheme and kill to get it. You are jealous of what others have, but you can’t get it, so you fight and wage war to take it away from them. Yet you don’t have what you want because you don’t ask God for it.
  • James 4:3 - And even when you ask, you don’t get it because your motives are all wrong—you want only what will give you pleasure.
  • James 4:4 - You adulterers! Don’t you realize that friendship with the world makes you an enemy of God? I say it again: If you want to be a friend of the world, you make yourself an enemy of God.
  • James 4:5 - Do you think the Scriptures have no meaning? They say that God is passionate that the spirit he has placed within us should be faithful to him.
  • James 4:6 - And he gives grace generously. As the Scriptures say, “God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble.”
  • James 4:7 - So humble yourselves before God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.
  • James 4:8 - Come close to God, and God will come close to you. Wash your hands, you sinners; purify your hearts, for your loyalty is divided between God and the world.
  • James 4:9 - Let there be tears for what you have done. Let there be sorrow and deep grief. Let there be sadness instead of laughter, and gloom instead of joy.
  • James 4:10 - Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will lift you up in honor.
  • Mark 13:32 - “However, no one knows the day or hour when these things will happen, not even the angels in heaven or the Son himself. Only the Father knows.
  • Mark 13:33 - And since you don’t know when that time will come, be on guard! Stay alert !
  • Mark 13:34 - “The coming of the Son of Man can be illustrated by the story of a man going on a long trip. When he left home, he gave each of his slaves instructions about the work they were to do, and he told the gatekeeper to watch for his return.

  • 1 Thessalonians 5:2 - For you know quite well that the day of the Lord’s return will come unexpectedly, like a thief in the night.
  • 1 Thessalonians 5:3 - When people are saying, “Everything is peaceful and secure,” then disaster will fall on them as suddenly as a pregnant woman’s labor pains begin. And there will be no escape.
  • 1 Thessalonians 5:4 - But you aren’t in the dark about these things, dear brothers and sisters, and you won’t be surprised when the day of the Lord comes like a thief.
