  • 1 Chronicles 21:15 - God sent an angel to Jerusalem to destroy it; and as he was destroying it, the Lord looked, and relented concerning the catastrophe and said to the destroying angel, “It is enough; now remove your hand [of judgment].” And the angel of the Lord was standing by the threshing floor of Ornan the Jebusite.
  • 1 Chronicles 21:16 - Then David raised his eyes and saw the angel of the Lord standing between earth and heaven, having a drawn sword in his hand stretched out over Jerusalem. Then David and the elders, covered in sackcloth, fell on their faces.
  • Micah 2:9 - You evict the women (widows) of My people, Each one from her pleasant house; From her [young, fatherless] children you take away My splendor and blessing forever [by putting them among the pagans, away from Me].
  • 1 John 3:13 - Do not be surprised, believers, if the world hates you.

  • James 5:7 - So wait patiently, brothers and sisters, until the coming of the Lord. The farmer waits [expectantly] for the precious harvest from the land, being patient about it, until it receives the early and late rains.
  • Habakkuk 1:2 - O Lord, how long will I call for help And You will not hear? I cry out to You, “Violence!” Yet You do not save.
  • Habakkuk 1:3 - Why do You make me see iniquity, And cause me to look on wickedness? For destruction and violence are before me; Strife continues and contention arises.
  • Isaiah 59:13 - Rebelling against and denying the Lord, Turning away from [following] our God, Speaking oppression and revolt, Conceiving and muttering from the heart lying words.

  • Isaiah 59:16 - He saw that there was no man, And was amazed that there was no one to intercede [on behalf of truth and right]; Therefore His own arm brought salvation to Him, And His own righteousness sustained Him.
  • Luke 1:76 - And you, child, will be called a prophet of the Most High; For you will go on before the Lord (the Messiah) to prepare His ways;

  • Psalms 140:11 - Do not let a slanderer be established in the earth; Let evil quickly hunt the violent man [to overthrow him and stop his evil acts].”
  • Psalms 140:12 - I know [with confidence] that the Lord will maintain the cause of the afflicted, And [will secure] justice for the poor.
  • Romans 11:33 - Oh, the depth of the riches and wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are His judgments and decisions and how unfathomable and untraceable are His ways!

  • Ezekiel 22:10 - In you men have uncovered their fathers’ nakedness [the nakedness of mother or stepmother]; in you they have violated women who are [set apart as ceremonially] unclean during their menstrual impurity [or after childbirth].
  • Ezekiel 22:11 - In you one has committed a shameful act with his neighbor’s wife, another has lewdly defiled his daughter-in-law, and another has violated his sister, his father’s daughter.
  • Ezekiel 22:12 - In you they have accepted bribes to shed blood; you have taken [forbidden] interest and [a percentage of] profits, and you have injured your neighbors for gain by oppression and extortion, and you have forgotten Me,” says the Lord God.
  • Ezekiel 22:13 - “Behold, therefore, I strike My hands [together] at your dishonest gain which you have acquired and at the bloodshed which is among you.
  • Ezekiel 22:14 - Can your heart (courage) endure, or can your hands be strong in the days that I will deal with you? I the Lord have spoken, and will act.
  • Psalms 58:10 - The [unyieldingly] righteous will rejoice when he sees the vengeance [of God]; He will wash his feet in the blood of the wicked.
  • Psalms 58:11 - Men will say, “Surely there is a reward for the righteous; Surely there is a God who judges on the earth.”
  • Isaiah 10:5 - Woe to Assyria, the rod of My anger [against Israel], The staff in whose hand is My indignation and fury [against Israel’s disobedience]!
  • Isaiah 10:6 - I send Assyria against a godless nation And commission it against the people of My wrath To take the spoil and to seize the plunder, And to trample them down like mud in the streets.
  • Isaiah 10:7 - Yet it is not Assyria’s intention [to do My will], Nor does it plan so in its heart, But instead it is its purpose to destroy And to cut off many nations.
  • Job 27:8 - For what is the hope of the godless, even though he has gained [in this world], When God takes his life?
  • Job 27:9 - Will God hear his cry When trouble and distress come upon him?
  • Job 27:10 - Will he take delight in the Almighty? Will he call on God at all times?
  • Job 27:11 - I will teach you regarding the hand (power) of God; I will not conceal what is with the Almighty [God’s actual treatment of the wicked].
  • Job 27:12 - Behold, all of you have seen it; Why then do you act vainly and foolishly [cherishing worthless concepts]?
  • Job 27:13 - “This [which I am about to explain] is the portion of a wicked man from God, And the inheritance which tyrants and oppressors receive from the Almighty:
  • Job 27:14 - Though his children are many, they are destined for the sword; And his descendants will not have sufficient bread.
  • Job 27:15 - Those who survive him will be buried because of the plague, And [their] widows will not be able to weep.
  • Job 27:16 - Though he heaps up silver like dust And piles up clothing like clay,
  • Job 27:17 - He may prepare it, but the just will wear it And the innocent will divide the silver.
  • Job 27:18 - He builds his house like a spider’s web, Like a (temporary) hut which a watchman makes.
  • Job 27:19 - He lies down rich, but never will again; He opens his eyes, and it is gone.
  • Job 27:20 - Terrors overtake him like a [suddenly rising] flood; A windstorm steals him away in the night.
  • Job 27:21 - The east wind lifts him up, and he is gone; It sweeps him out of his place.
  • Job 27:22 - For it will hurl [thunderbolts of God’s wrath] at him unsparingly and without compassion; He flees in haste from its power.
  • Job 27:23 - People will clap their hands at him [to mock and ridicule him] And hiss him out of his place.
  • Isaiah 46:10 - Declaring the end and the result from the beginning, And from ancient times the things which have not [yet] been done, Saying, ‘My purpose will be established, And I will do all that pleases Me and fulfills My purpose,’

  • Habakkuk 1:13 - Your eyes are too pure to approve evil, And You cannot look favorably on wickedness. Why then do You look favorably On those who act treacherously? Why are you silent when the wicked (Chaldean oppressors) destroy Those more righteous than they?
  • Psalms 83:18 - That they may know that You alone, whose name is the Lord, Are the Most High over all the earth.
  • Malachi 3:5 - “Then I will come near you for judgment; I will be a swift witness against sorcerers, against adulterers, against perjurers, and against those who oppress the laborer in his wages and widows and the fatherless, and against those who turn away the alien [from his right], and those who do not fear Me [with awe-filled reverence],” says the Lord of hosts.

  • 1 Kings 21:20 - Ahab said to Elijah, “Have you found me, O my enemy?” And he answered, “I have found you, because you have sold yourself to do evil in the sight of the Lord.
