- Isaiah 10:5 - Woe to Assyria, the rod of My anger [against Israel], The staff in whose hand is My indignation and fury [against Israel’s disobedience]!
- Isaiah 10:6 - I send Assyria against a godless nation And commission it against the people of My wrath To take the spoil and to seize the plunder, And to trample them down like mud in the streets.
- Isaiah 10:7 - Yet it is not Assyria’s intention [to do My will], Nor does it plan so in its heart, But instead it is its purpose to destroy And to cut off many nations.
- Job 27:8 - For what is the hope of the godless, even though he has gained [in this world], When God takes his life?
- Job 27:9 - Will God hear his cry When trouble and distress come upon him?
- Job 27:10 - Will he take delight in the Almighty? Will he call on God at all times?
- Job 27:11 - I will teach you regarding the hand (power) of God; I will not conceal what is with the Almighty [God’s actual treatment of the wicked].
- Job 27:12 - Behold, all of you have seen it; Why then do you act vainly and foolishly [cherishing worthless concepts]?
- Job 27:13 - “This [which I am about to explain] is the portion of a wicked man from God, And the inheritance which tyrants and oppressors receive from the Almighty:
- Job 27:14 - Though his children are many, they are destined for the sword; And his descendants will not have sufficient bread.
- Job 27:15 - Those who survive him will be buried because of the plague, And [their] widows will not be able to weep.
- Job 27:16 - Though he heaps up silver like dust And piles up clothing like clay,
- Job 27:17 - He may prepare it, but the just will wear it And the innocent will divide the silver.
- Job 27:18 - He builds his house like a spider’s web, Like a (temporary) hut which a watchman makes.
- Job 27:19 - He lies down rich, but never will again; He opens his eyes, and it is gone.
- Job 27:20 - Terrors overtake him like a [suddenly rising] flood; A windstorm steals him away in the night.
- Job 27:21 - The east wind lifts him up, and he is gone; It sweeps him out of his place.
- Job 27:22 - For it will hurl [thunderbolts of God’s wrath] at him unsparingly and without compassion; He flees in haste from its power.
- Job 27:23 - People will clap their hands at him [to mock and ridicule him] And hiss him out of his place.
- Isaiah 46:10 - Declaring the end and the result from the beginning, And from ancient times the things which have not [yet] been done, Saying, ‘My purpose will be established, And I will do all that pleases Me and fulfills My purpose,’
- Isaiah 46:11 - Calling a bird of prey from the east, From a far country, the man (Cyrus) of My purpose. Truly I have spoken; truly I will bring it to pass. I have planned it, be assured I will do it.

- Habakkuk 1:12 - Are You not from everlasting, O Lord, my God, My Holy One? We will not die. O Lord, You have appointed the Chaldeans [who rule in Babylon] to execute [Your] judgment, And You, O Rock, have established them to correct and chastise.
- Habakkuk 1:13 - Your eyes are too pure to approve evil, And You cannot look favorably on wickedness. Why then do You look favorably On those who act treacherously? Why are you silent when the wicked (Chaldean oppressors) destroy Those more righteous than they?

- Malachi 3:5 - “Then I will come near you for judgment; I will be a swift witness against sorcerers, against adulterers, against perjurers, and against those who oppress the laborer in his wages and widows and the fatherless, and against those who turn away the alien [from his right], and those who do not fear Me [with awe-filled reverence],” says the Lord of hosts.
