Deuteronomy 12:30 - be careful that you are not ensnared to follow them, after they are destroyed from your presence, and that you do not inquire about their gods, saying, ‘How do these nations serve their gods, that I also may do likewise?’
Deuteronomy 12:31 - You shall not behave this way toward the Lord your God, because every abominable act which the Lord hates, they have done for their gods; for they even burn their sons and daughters in the fire for their gods.
2 Chronicles 33:2 - He did evil in the sight of the Lord according to the abominations of the nations whom the Lord dispossessed before the sons of Israel.

2 Kings 17:18 - So the Lord was very angry with Israel, and He removed them from His sight; no one was left except the tribe of Judah.
2 Kings 17:19 - Judah did not keep the commandments of the Lord their God either, but they followed the customs which Israel had introduced.
2 Kings 17:20 - So the Lord rejected all the descendants of Israel and afflicted them and handed them over to plunderers, until He had cast them out of His sight.
2 Kings 17:21 - When He had torn Israel from the house of David, they made Jeroboam the son of Nebat king. Then Jeroboam drove Israel away from following the Lord and misled them into a great sin.
2 Kings 17:22 - And the sons of Israel walked in all the sins of Jeroboam which he committed; they did not desist from them
2 Kings 17:23 - until the Lord removed Israel from His sight, just as He had spoken through all His servants the prophets. So Israel went into exile from their own land to Assyria until this day.
