- Numbers 16:5 - and he spake unto Korah and unto all his company, saying, In the morning Jehovah will show who are his, and who is holy, and will cause him to come near unto him: even him whom he shall choose will he cause to come near unto him.

- Numbers 16:7 - and put fire in them, and put incense upon them before Jehovah to-morrow: and it shall be that the man whom Jehovah doth choose, he shall be holy: ye take too much upon you, ye sons of Levi.

- Numbers 16:9 - seemeth it but a small thing unto you, that the God of Israel hath separated you from the congregation of Israel, to bring you near to himself, to do the service of the tabernacle of Jehovah, and to stand before the congregation to minister unto them;
- Numbers 16:10 - and that he hath brought thee near, and all thy brethren the sons of Levi with thee? and seek ye the priesthood also?
- Numbers 16:11 - Therefore thou and all thy company are gathered together against Jehovah: and Aaron, what is he that ye murmur against him?
- Numbers 16:12 - And Moses sent to call Dathan and Abiram, the sons of Eliab; and they said, We will not come up:

- Numbers 16:19 - And Korah assembled all the congregation against them unto the door of the tent of meeting: and the glory of Jehovah appeared unto all the congregation.

- Numbers 16:21 - Separate yourselves from among this congregation, that I may consume them in a moment.
- Numbers 16:22 - And they fell upon their faces, and said, O God, the God of the spirits of all flesh, shall one man sin, and wilt thou be wroth with all the congregation?
- Numbers 16:23 - And Jehovah spake unto Moses, saying,
- Numbers 16:24 - Speak unto the congregation, saying, Get you up from about the tabernacle of Korah, Dathan, and Abiram.
- Numbers 16:25 - And Moses rose up and went unto Dathan and Abiram; and the elders of Israel followed him.
- Numbers 16:26 - And he spake unto the congregation, saying, Depart, I pray you, from the tents of these wicked men, and touch nothing of theirs, lest ye be consumed in all their sins.
- Numbers 16:27 - So they gat them up from the tabernacle of Korah, Dathan, and Abiram, on every side: and Dathan and Abiram came out, and stood at the door of their tents, and their wives, and their sons, and their little ones.

- Numbers 16:30 - But if Jehovah make a new thing, and the ground open its mouth, and swallow them up, with all that appertain unto them, and they go down alive into Sheol; then ye shall understand that these men have despised Jehovah.

- Numbers 16:32 - and the earth opened its mouth, and swallowed them up, and their households, and all the men that appertained unto Korah, and all their goods.

- Numbers 16:37 - Speak unto Eleazar the son of Aaron the priest, that he take up the censers out of the burning, and scatter thou the fire yonder; for they are holy,
- Numbers 16:38 - even the censers of these sinners against their own lives; and let them be made beaten plates for a covering of the altar: for they offered them before Jehovah; therefore they are holy; and they shall be a sign unto the children of Israel.
- Numbers 16:39 - And Eleazar the priest took the brazen censers, which they that were burnt had offered; and they beat them out for a covering of the altar,
- Numbers 16:40 - to be a memorial unto the children of Israel, to the end that no stranger, that is not of the seed of Aaron, come near to burn incense before Jehovah; that he be not as Korah, and as his company: as Jehovah spake unto him by Moses.

- Numbers 16:49 - Now they that died by the plague were fourteen thousand and seven hundred, besides them that died about the matter of Korah.
- Numbers 16:50 - And Aaron returned unto Moses unto the door of the tent of meeting: and the plague was stayed.
- Numbers 25:1 - And Israel abode in Shittim; and the people began to play the harlot with the daughters of Moab:
- Numbers 25:2 - for they called the people unto the sacrifices of their gods; and the people did eat, and bowed down to their gods.
- Numbers 25:3 - And Israel joined himself unto Baal-peor: and the anger of Jehovah was kindled against Israel.
- Numbers 25:4 - And Jehovah said unto Moses, Take all the chiefs of the people, and hang them up unto Jehovah before the sun, that the fierce anger of Jehovah may turn away from Israel.
- Numbers 25:5 - And Moses said unto the judges of Israel, Slay ye every one his men that have joined themselves unto Baal-peor.
- Numbers 25:6 - And, behold, one of the children of Israel came and brought unto his brethren a Midianitish woman in the sight of Moses, and in the sight of all the congregation of the children of Israel, while they were weeping at the door of the tent of meeting.
- Numbers 25:7 - And when Phinehas, the son of Eleazar, the son of Aaron the priest, saw it, he rose up from the midst of the congregation, and took a spear in his hand;
- Numbers 25:8 - and he went after the man of Israel into the pavilion, and thrust both of them through, the man of Israel, and the woman through her body. So the plague was stayed from the children of Israel.
- Numbers 25:9 - And those that died by the plague were twenty and four thousand.
- Numbers 25:10 - And Jehovah spake unto Moses, saying,
- Numbers 25:11 - Phinehas, the son of Eleazar, the son of Aaron the priest, hath turned my wrath away from the children of Israel, in that he was jealous with my jealousy among them, so that I consumed not the children of Israel in my jealousy.
- Numbers 25:12 - Wherefore say, Behold, I give unto him my covenant of peace:
- Numbers 25:13 - and it shall be unto him, and to his seed after him, the covenant of an everlasting priesthood; because he was jealous for his God, and made atonement for the children of Israel.
- Numbers 25:14 - Now the name of the man of Israel that was slain, who was slain with the Midianitish woman, was Zimri, the son of Salu, a prince of a fathers’ house among the Simeonites.
- Numbers 25:15 - And the name of the Midianitish woman that was slain was Cozbi, the daughter of Zur; he was head of the people of a fathers’ house in Midian.
- Numbers 25:16 - And Jehovah spake unto Moses, saying,
- Numbers 25:17 - Vex the Midianites, and smite them;
- Numbers 25:18 - for they vex you with their wiles, wherewith they have beguiled you in the matter of Peor, and in the matter of Cozbi, the daughter of the prince of Midian, their sister, who was slain on the day of the plague in the matter of Peor.
- Psalms 106:15 - And he gave them their request, But sent leanness into their soul.
- Psalms 106:16 - They envied Moses also in the camp, And Aaron the saint of Jehovah.
- Psalms 106:17 - The earth opened and swallowed up Dathan, And covered the company of Abiram.
- Psalms 106:18 - And a fire was kindled in their company; The flame burned up the wicked.
- Psalms 106:19 - They made a calf in Horeb, And worshipped a molten image.
- Psalms 106:20 - Thus they changed their glory For the likeness of an ox that eateth grass.
- Psalms 106:21 - They forgat God their Saviour, Who had done great things in Egypt,
- Psalms 106:22 - Wondrous works in the land of Ham, And terrible things by the Red Sea.
- Psalms 106:23 - Therefore he said that he would destroy them, Had not Moses his chosen stood before him in the breach, To turn away his wrath, lest he should destroy them.
- Psalms 106:24 - Yea, they despised the pleasant land, They believed not his word,
- Psalms 106:25 - But murmured in their tents, And hearkened not unto the voice of Jehovah.
- Psalms 106:26 - Therefore he sware unto them, That he would overthrow them in the wilderness,
- Psalms 106:27 - And that he would overthrow their seed among the nations, And scatter them in the lands.
- Psalms 106:28 - They joined themselves also unto Baal-peor, And ate the sacrifices of the dead.
- Psalms 106:29 - Thus they provoked him to anger with their doings; And the plague brake in upon them.
- Psalms 106:30 - Then stood up Phinehas, and executed judgment; And so the plague was stayed.
- Psalms 106:31 - And that was reckoned unto him for righteousness, Unto all generations for evermore.
- Psalms 106:32 - They angered him also at the waters of Meribah, So that it went ill with Moses for their sakes;
- Psalms 106:33 - Because they were rebellious against his spirit, And he spake unadvisedly with his lips.
- Psalms 106:34 - They did not destroy the peoples, As Jehovah commanded them,
- Psalms 106:35 - But mingled themselves with the nations, And learned their works,
- Psalms 106:36 - And served their idols, Which became a snare unto them.
- Psalms 106:37 - Yea, they sacrificed their sons and their daughters unto demons,
- Psalms 106:38 - And shed innocent blood, Even the blood of their sons and of their daughters, Whom they sacrificed unto the idols of Canaan; And the land was polluted with blood.
- Psalms 106:39 - Thus were they defiled with their works, And played the harlot in their doings.
- Psalms 106:40 - Therefore was the wrath of Jehovah kindled against his people, And he abhorred his inheritance.
- Psalms 106:41 - And he gave them into the hand of the nations; And they that hated them ruled over them.
- Psalms 106:42 - Their enemies also oppressed them, And they were brought into subjection under their hand.
- Psalms 106:43 - Many times did he deliver them; But they were rebellious in their counsel, And were brought low in their iniquity.
- Psalms 106:44 - Nevertheless he regarded their distress, When he heard their cry:
- Psalms 106:45 - And he remembered for them his covenant, And repented according to the multitude of his lovingkindnesses.
- Psalms 106:46 - He made them also to be pitied Of all those that carried them captive.
- Psalms 106:47 - Save us, O Jehovah our God, And gather us from among the nations, To give thanks unto thy holy name, And to triumph in thy praise.
- Psalms 106:48 - Blessed be Jehovah, the God of Israel, From everlasting even to everlasting. And let all the people say, Amen. Praise ye Jehovah.
- Ezekiel 20:21 - But the children rebelled against me; they walked not in my statutes, neither kept mine ordinances to do them, which if a man do, he shall live in them; they profaned my sabbaths. Then I said I would pour out my wrath upon them, to accomplish my anger against them in the wilderness.
- Ezekiel 20:13 - But the house of Israel rebelled against me in the wilderness: they walked not in my statutes, and they rejected mine ordinances, which if a man keep, he shall live in them; and my sabbaths they greatly profaned. Then I said I would pour out my wrath upon them in the wilderness, to consume them.
- 1 Corinthians 10:5 - Howbeit with most of them God was not well pleased: for they were overthrown in the wilderness.
- 1 Corinthians 10:6 - Now these things were our examples, to the intent we should not lust after evil things, as they also lusted.
- 1 Corinthians 10:7 - Neither be ye idolaters, as were some of them; as it is written, The people sat down to eat and drink, and rose up to play.
- 1 Corinthians 10:8 - Neither let us commit fornication, as some of them committed, and fell in one day three and twenty thousand.
- 1 Corinthians 10:9 - Neither let us make trial of the Lord, as some of them made trial, and perished by the serpents.
- 1 Corinthians 10:10 - Neither murmur ye, as some of them murmured, and perished by the destroyer.
- Numbers 11:1 - And the people were as murmurers, speaking evil in the ears of Jehovah: and when Jehovah heard it, his anger was kindled; and the fire of Jehovah burnt among them, and devoured in the uttermost part of the camp.
- Numbers 11:2 - And the people cried unto Moses; and Moses prayed unto Jehovah, and the fire abated.
- Numbers 11:3 - And the name of that place was called Taberah, because the fire of Jehovah burnt among them.
- Numbers 11:4 - And the mixed multitude that was among them lusted exceedingly: and the children of Israel also wept again, and said, Who shall give us flesh to eat?
- Numbers 11:5 - We remember the fish, which we did eat in Egypt for nought; the cucumbers, and the melons, and the leeks, and the onions, and the garlic:
- Numbers 11:6 - but now our soul is dried away; there is nothing at all save this manna to look upon.
- Numbers 11:7 - And the manna was like coriander seed, and the appearance thereof as the appearance of bdellium.
- Numbers 11:8 - The people went about, and gathered it, and ground it in mills, or beat it in mortars, and boiled it in pots, and made cakes of it: and the taste of it was as the taste of fresh oil.
- Numbers 11:9 - And when the dew fell upon the camp in the night, the manna fell upon it.
- Numbers 11:10 - And Moses heard the people weeping throughout their families, every man at the door of his tent: and the anger of Jehovah was kindled greatly; and Moses was displeased.
- Numbers 11:11 - And Moses said unto Jehovah, Wherefore hast thou dealt ill with thy servant? and wherefore have I not found favor in thy sight, that thou layest the burden of all this people upon me?
- Numbers 11:12 - Have I conceived all this people? have I brought them forth, that thou shouldest say unto me, Carry them in thy bosom, as a nursing-father carrieth the sucking child, unto the land which thou swarest unto their fathers?
- Numbers 11:13 - Whence should I have flesh to give unto all this people? for they weep unto me, saying, Give us flesh, that we may eat.
- Numbers 11:14 - I am not able to bear all this people alone, because it is too heavy for me.
- Numbers 11:15 - And if thou deal thus with me, kill me, I pray thee, out of hand, if I have found favor in thy sight; and let me not see my wretchedness.
- Numbers 11:16 - And Jehovah said unto Moses, Gather unto me seventy men of the elders of Israel, whom thou knowest to be the elders of the people, and officers over them; and bring them unto the tent of meeting, that they may stand there with thee.
- Numbers 11:17 - And I will come down and talk with thee there: and I will take of the Spirit which is upon thee, and will put it upon them; and they shall bear the burden of the people with thee, that thou bear it not thyself alone.
- Numbers 11:18 - And say thou unto the people, Sanctify yourselves against to-morrow, and ye shall eat flesh; for ye have wept in the ears of Jehovah, saying, Who shall give us flesh to eat? for it was well with us in Egypt: therefore Jehovah will give you flesh, and ye shall eat.
- Numbers 11:19 - Ye shall not eat one day, nor two days, nor five days, neither ten days, nor twenty days,
- Numbers 11:20 - but a whole month, until it come out at your nostrils, and it be loathsome unto you; because that ye have rejected Jehovah who is among you, and have wept before him, saying, Why came we forth out of Egypt?
- Numbers 11:21 - And Moses said, The people, among whom I am, are six hundred thousand footmen; and thou hast said, I will give them flesh, that they may eat a whole month.
- Numbers 11:22 - Shall flocks and herds be slain for them, to suffice them? or shall all the fish of the sea be gathered together for them, to suffice them?
- Numbers 11:23 - And Jehovah said unto Moses, Is Jehovah’s hand waxed short? now shalt thou see whether my word shall come to pass unto thee or not.
- Numbers 11:24 - And Moses went out, and told the people the words of Jehovah: and he gathered seventy men of the elders of the people, and set them round about the Tent.
- Numbers 11:25 - And Jehovah came down in the cloud, and spake unto him, and took of the Spirit that was upon him, and put it upon the seventy elders: and it came to pass, that, when the Spirit rested upon them, they prophesied, but they did so no more.
- Numbers 11:26 - But there remained two men in the camp, the name of the one was Eldad, and the name of the other Medad: and the Spirit rested upon them; and they were of them that were written, but had not gone out unto the Tent; and they prophesied in the camp.
- Numbers 11:27 - And there ran a young man, and told Moses, and said, Eldad and Medad do prophesy in the camp.
- Numbers 11:28 - And Joshua the son of Nun, the minister of Moses, one of his chosen men, answered and said, My lord Moses, forbid them.
- Numbers 11:29 - And Moses said unto him, Art thou jealous for my sake? would that all Jehovah’s people were prophets, that Jehovah would put his Spirit upon them!
- Numbers 11:30 - And Moses gat him into the camp, he and the elders of Israel.
- Numbers 11:31 - And there went forth a wind from Jehovah, and brought quails from the sea, and let them fall by the camp, about a day’s journey on this side, and a day’s journey on the other side, round about the camp, and about two cubits above the face of the earth.
- Numbers 11:32 - And the people rose up all that day, and all the night, and all the next day, and gathered the quails: he that gathered least gathered ten homers: and they spread them all abroad for themselves round about the camp.
- Numbers 11:33 - While the flesh was yet between their teeth, ere it was chewed, the anger of Jehovah was kindled against the people, and Jehovah smote the people with a very great plague.
- Numbers 11:34 - And the name of that place was called Kibroth-hattaavah, because there they buried the people that lusted.
- Numbers 11:35 - From Kibroth-hattaavah the people journeyed unto Hazeroth; and they abode at Hazeroth.
