Ezekiel 34:31 - You are my flock, the sheep of my pasture. You are my people, and I am your God. I, the Sovereign Lord, have spoken!”
Jeremiah 2:26 - “Israel is like a thief who feels shame only when he gets caught. They, their kings, officials, priests, and prophets— all are alike in this.
Jeremiah 25:34 - Weep and moan, you evil shepherds! Roll in the dust, you leaders of the flock! The time of your slaughter has arrived; you will fall and shatter like a fragile vase.
Jeremiah 25:35 - You will find no place to hide; there will be no way to escape.
Jeremiah 25:36 - Listen to the frantic cries of the shepherds. The leaders of the flock are wailing in despair, for the Lord is ruining their pastures.
Jeremiah 23:11 - “Even the priests and prophets are ungodly, wicked men. I have seen their despicable acts right here in my own Temple,” says the Lord.
Jeremiah 23:12 - “Therefore, the paths they take will become slippery. They will be chased through the dark, and there they will fall. For I will bring disaster upon them at the time fixed for their punishment. I, the Lord, have spoken!
Jeremiah 23:13 - “I saw that the prophets of Samaria were terribly evil, for they prophesied in the name of Baal and led my people of Israel into sin.
Jeremiah 23:14 - But now I see that the prophets of Jerusalem are even worse! They commit adultery and love dishonesty. They encourage those who are doing evil so that no one turns away from their sins. These prophets are as wicked as the people of Sodom and Gomorrah once were.”
Jeremiah 23:15 - Therefore, this is what the Lord of Heaven’s Armies says concerning the prophets: “I will feed them with bitterness and give them poison to drink. For it is because of Jerusalem’s prophets that wickedness has filled this land.”
Ezekiel 34:21 - For you fat sheep pushed and butted and crowded my sick and hungry flock until you scattered them to distant lands.
John 10:12 - A hired hand will run when he sees a wolf coming. He will abandon the sheep because they don’t belong to him and he isn’t their shepherd. And so the wolf attacks them and scatters the flock.
Jeremiah 23:2 - Therefore, this is what the Lord, the God of Israel, says to these shepherds: “Instead of caring for my flock and leading them to safety, you have deserted them and driven them to destruction. Now I will pour out judgment on you for the evil you have done to them.
Zechariah 11:5 - The buyers slaughter their sheep without remorse. The sellers say, ‘Praise the Lord! Now I’m rich!’ Even the shepherds have no compassion for them.
Zechariah 11:6 - Likewise, I will no longer have pity on the people of the land,” says the Lord. “I will let them fall into each other’s hands and into the hands of their king. They will turn the land into a wilderness, and I will not rescue them.”

John 10:10 - The thief’s purpose is to steal and kill and destroy. My purpose is to give them a rich and satisfying life.
Ezekiel 22:25 - Your princes plot conspiracies just as lions stalk their prey. They devour innocent people, seizing treasures and extorting wealth. They make many widows in the land.
Ezekiel 22:26 - Your priests have violated my instructions and defiled my holy things. They make no distinction between what is holy and what is not. And they do not teach my people the difference between what is ceremonially clean and unclean. They disregard my Sabbath days so that I am dishonored among them.
Ezekiel 22:27 - Your leaders are like wolves who tear apart their victims. They actually destroy people’s lives for money!
Ezekiel 22:28 - And your prophets cover up for them by announcing false visions and making lying predictions. They say, ‘My message is from the Sovereign Lord,’ when the Lord hasn’t spoken a single word to them.
Ezekiel 22:29 - Even common people oppress the poor, rob the needy, and deprive foreigners of justice.
Matthew 23:13 - “What sorrow awaits you teachers of religious law and you Pharisees. Hypocrites! For you shut the door of the Kingdom of Heaven in people’s faces. You won’t go in yourselves, and you don’t let others enter either.
Matthew 23:15 - “What sorrow awaits you teachers of religious law and you Pharisees. Hypocrites! For you cross land and sea to make one convert, and then you turn that person into twice the child of hell you yourselves are!
Matthew 23:16 - “Blind guides! What sorrow awaits you! For you say that it means nothing to swear ‘by God’s Temple,’ but that it is binding to swear ‘by the gold in the Temple.’
Matthew 23:17 - Blind fools! Which is more important—the gold or the Temple that makes the gold sacred?
Matthew 23:18 - And you say that to swear ‘by the altar’ is not binding, but to swear ‘by the gifts on the altar’ is binding.
Matthew 23:19 - How blind! For which is more important—the gift on the altar or the altar that makes the gift sacred?
Matthew 23:20 - When you swear ‘by the altar,’ you are swearing by it and by everything on it.
Matthew 23:21 - And when you swear ‘by the Temple,’ you are swearing by it and by God, who lives in it.
Matthew 23:22 - And when you swear ‘by heaven,’ you are swearing by the throne of God and by God, who sits on the throne.
Matthew 23:23 - “What sorrow awaits you teachers of religious law and you Pharisees. Hypocrites! For you are careful to tithe even the tiniest income from your herb gardens, but you ignore the more important aspects of the law—justice, mercy, and faith. You should tithe, yes, but do not neglect the more important things.
Matthew 23:24 - Blind guides! You strain your water so you won’t accidentally swallow a gnat, but you swallow a camel!
Matthew 23:25 - “What sorrow awaits you teachers of religious law and you Pharisees. Hypocrites! For you are so careful to clean the outside of the cup and the dish, but inside you are filthy—full of greed and self-indulgence!
Matthew 23:26 - You blind Pharisee! First wash the inside of the cup and the dish, and then the outside will become clean, too.
Matthew 23:27 - “What sorrow awaits you teachers of religious law and you Pharisees. Hypocrites! For you are like whitewashed tombs—beautiful on the outside but filled on the inside with dead people’s bones and all sorts of impurity.
Matthew 23:28 - Outwardly you look like righteous people, but inwardly your hearts are filled with hypocrisy and lawlessness.
Matthew 23:29 - “What sorrow awaits you teachers of religious law and you Pharisees. Hypocrites! For you build tombs for the prophets your ancestors killed, and you decorate the monuments of the godly people your ancestors destroyed.
Micah 3:11 - You rulers make decisions based on bribes; you priests teach God’s laws only for a price; you prophets won’t prophesy unless you are paid. Yet all of you claim to depend on the Lord. “No harm can come to us,” you say, “for the Lord is here among us.”
Micah 3:12 - Because of you, Mount Zion will be plowed like an open field; Jerusalem will be reduced to ruins! A thicket will grow on the heights where the Temple now stands.
Matthew 15:14 - so ignore them. They are blind guides leading the blind, and if one blind person guides another, they will both fall into a ditch.”
Jeremiah 50:6 - “My people have been lost sheep. Their shepherds have led them astray and turned them loose in the mountains. They have lost their way and can’t remember how to get back to the sheepfold.
Zephaniah 3:3 - Its leaders are like roaring lions hunting for their victims. Its judges are like ravenous wolves at evening time, who by dawn have left no trace of their prey.
Zephaniah 3:4 - Its prophets are arrogant liars seeking their own gain. Its priests defile the Temple by disobeying God’s instructions.
Jeremiah 2:8 - The priests did not ask, ‘Where is the Lord?’ Those who taught my word ignored me, the rulers turned against me, and the prophets spoke in the name of Baal, wasting their time on worthless idols.
Isaiah 56:9 - Come, wild animals of the field! Come, wild animals of the forest! Come and devour my people!
Isaiah 56:10 - For the leaders of my people— the Lord’s watchmen, his shepherds— are blind and ignorant. They are like silent watchdogs that give no warning when danger comes. They love to lie around, sleeping and dreaming.
Isaiah 56:11 - Like greedy dogs, they are never satisfied. They are ignorant shepherds, all following their own path and intent on personal gain.
Isaiah 56:12 - “Come,” they say, “let’s get some wine and have a party. Let’s all get drunk. Then tomorrow we’ll do it again and have an even bigger party!”
Jeremiah 22:22 - And now the wind will blow away your allies. All your friends will be taken away as captives. Surely then you will see your wickedness and be ashamed.
Luke 11:42 - “What sorrow awaits you Pharisees! For you are careful to tithe even the tiniest income from your herb gardens, but you ignore justice and the love of God. You should tithe, yes, but do not neglect the more important things.
Luke 11:43 - “What sorrow awaits you Pharisees! For you love to sit in the seats of honor in the synagogues and receive respectful greetings as you walk in the marketplaces.
Luke 11:44 - Yes, what sorrow awaits you! For you are like hidden graves in a field. People walk over them without knowing the corruption they are stepping on.”
Luke 11:45 - “Teacher,” said an expert in religious law, “you have insulted us, too, in what you just said.”
Luke 11:46 - “Yes,” said Jesus, “what sorrow also awaits you experts in religious law! For you crush people with unbearable religious demands, and you never lift a finger to ease the burden.
Luke 11:47 - What sorrow awaits you! For you build monuments for the prophets your own ancestors killed long ago.
Luke 11:48 - But in fact, you stand as witnesses who agree with what your ancestors did. They killed the prophets, and you join in their crime by building the monuments!
Luke 11:49 - This is what God in his wisdom said about you: ‘I will send prophets and apostles to them, but they will kill some and persecute the others.’
Luke 11:50 - “As a result, this generation will be held responsible for the murder of all God’s prophets from the creation of the world—
Luke 11:51 - from the murder of Abel to the murder of Zechariah, who was killed between the altar and the sanctuary. Yes, it will certainly be charged against this generation.
Luke 11:52 - “What sorrow awaits you experts in religious law! For you remove the key to knowledge from the people. You don’t enter the Kingdom yourselves, and you prevent others from entering.”
Jeremiah 12:10 - “Many rulers have ravaged my vineyard, trampling down the vines and turning all its beauty into a barren wilderness.
Ezekiel 13:3 - This is what the Sovereign Lord says: What sorrow awaits the false prophets who are following their own imaginations and have seen nothing at all!’
Matthew 9:36 - When he saw the crowds, he had compassion on them because they were confused and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd.
Ezekiel 34:2 - “Son of man, prophesy against the shepherds, the leaders of Israel. Give them this message from the Sovereign Lord: What sorrow awaits you shepherds who feed yourselves instead of your flocks. Shouldn’t shepherds feed their sheep?
Ezekiel 34:3 - You drink the milk, wear the wool, and butcher the best animals, but you let your flocks starve.
Ezekiel 34:4 - You have not taken care of the weak. You have not tended the sick or bound up the injured. You have not gone looking for those who have wandered away and are lost. Instead, you have ruled them with harshness and cruelty.
Ezekiel 34:5 - So my sheep have been scattered without a shepherd, and they are easy prey for any wild animal.
Ezekiel 34:6 - They have wandered through all the mountains and all the hills, across the face of the earth, yet no one has gone to search for them.
Ezekiel 34:7 - “Therefore, you shepherds, hear the word of the Lord:
Ezekiel 34:8 - As surely as I live, says the Sovereign Lord, you abandoned my flock and left them to be attacked by every wild animal. And though you were my shepherds, you didn’t search for my sheep when they were lost. You took care of yourselves and left the sheep to starve.
Ezekiel 34:9 - Therefore, you shepherds, hear the word of the Lord.
Ezekiel 34:10 - This is what the Sovereign Lord says: I now consider these shepherds my enemies, and I will hold them responsible for what has happened to my flock. I will take away their right to feed the flock, and I will stop them from feeding themselves. I will rescue my flock from their mouths; the sheep will no longer be their prey.
Zechariah 11:15 - Then the Lord said to me, “Go again and play the part of a worthless shepherd.
Zechariah 11:16 - This illustrates how I will give this nation a shepherd who will not care for those who are dying, nor look after the young, nor heal the injured, nor feed the healthy. Instead, this shepherd will eat the meat of the fattest sheep and tear off their hooves.
Zechariah 11:17 - “What sorrow awaits this worthless shepherd who abandons the flock! The sword will cut his arm and pierce his right eye. His arm will become useless, and his right eye completely blind.”
Jeremiah 10:21 - The shepherds of my people have lost their senses. They no longer seek wisdom from the Lord. Therefore, they fail completely, and their flocks are scattered.
