- Joel 1:13 - Get dressed and lament, you priests! Wail, you who minister at the altar! Come, spend the night in sackcloth, you servants of my God, because no one brings grain offerings or drink offerings to the temple of your God anymore.
- Joel 1:14 - Announce a holy fast; proclaim a sacred assembly. Gather the elders and all the inhabitants of the land to the temple of the Lord your God, and cry out to the Lord.
- Joel 1:15 - How awful that day will be! For the day of the Lord is near; it will come as destruction from the Divine Destroyer.
- Joel 1:16 - Our food has been cut off right before our eyes! There is no longer any joy or gladness in the temple of our God!

- Deuteronomy 28:36 - The Lord will force you and your king whom you will appoint over you to go away to a people whom you and your ancestors have not known, and you will serve other gods of wood and stone there.
- Deuteronomy 28:37 - You will become an occasion of horror, a proverb, and an object of ridicule to all the peoples to whom the Lord will drive you.
- Deuteronomy 28:38 - “You will take much seed to the field but gather little harvest, because locusts will consume it.
- Deuteronomy 28:39 - You will plant vineyards and cultivate them, but you will not drink wine or gather in grapes, because worms will eat them.
- Deuteronomy 28:40 - You will have olive trees throughout your territory but you will not anoint yourself with olive oil, because the olives will drop off the trees while still unripe.
- Deuteronomy 28:41 - You will bear sons and daughters but not keep them, because they will be taken into captivity.
- Deuteronomy 28:42 - Whirring locusts will take over every tree and all the produce of your soil.
- Deuteronomy 28:43 - The foreigners who reside among you will become higher and higher over you and you will become lower and lower.
- Deuteronomy 28:44 - They will lend to you but you will not lend to them; they will become the head and you will become the tail!
- Deuteronomy 28:45 - All these curses will fall on you, pursuing and overtaking you until you are destroyed, because you would not obey the Lord your God by keeping his commandments and statutes that he has given you.
- Deuteronomy 28:46 - These curses will be a perpetual sign and wonder with reference to you and your descendants.
- Deuteronomy 28:47 - “Because you have not served the Lord your God joyfully and wholeheartedly with the abundance of everything you have,
- Deuteronomy 28:48 - instead in hunger, thirst, nakedness, and poverty you will serve your enemies whom the Lord will send against you. They will place an iron yoke on your neck until they have destroyed you.
- Deuteronomy 28:49 - The Lord will raise up a distant nation against you, one from the other side of the earth as the eagle flies, a nation whose language you will not understand,
- Deuteronomy 28:50 - a nation of stern appearance that will have no regard for the elderly or pity for the young.
- Deuteronomy 28:51 - They will devour the offspring of your livestock and the produce of your soil until you are destroyed. They will not leave you with any grain, new wine, olive oil, calves of your herds, or lambs of your flocks until they have destroyed you.
- Deuteronomy 28:52 - They will besiege all of your villages until all of your high and fortified walls collapse – those in which you put your confidence throughout the land. They will besiege all your villages throughout the land the Lord your God has given you.
- Deuteronomy 28:53 - You will then eat your own offspring, the flesh of the sons and daughters the Lord your God has given you, because of the severity of the siege by which your enemies will constrict you.
- Deuteronomy 28:54 - The man among you who is by nature tender and sensitive will turn against his brother, his beloved wife, and his remaining children.
- Deuteronomy 28:55 - He will withhold from all of them his children’s flesh that he is eating (since there is nothing else left), because of the severity of the siege by which your enemy will constrict you in your villages.
- Deuteronomy 28:56 - Likewise, the most tender and delicate of your women, who would never think of putting even the sole of her foot on the ground because of her daintiness, will turn against her beloved husband, her sons and daughters,
- Deuteronomy 28:57 - and will secretly eat her afterbirth and her newborn children (since she has nothing else), because of the severity of the siege by which your enemy will constrict you in your villages.
- Deuteronomy 28:58 - “If you refuse to obey all the words of this law, the things written in this scroll, and refuse to fear this glorious and awesome name, the Lord your God,
- Deuteronomy 28:59 - then the Lord will increase your punishments and those of your descendants – great and long-lasting afflictions and severe, enduring illnesses.
- Deuteronomy 28:60 - He will infect you with all the diseases of Egypt that you dreaded, and they will persistently afflict you.
- Deuteronomy 28:61 - Moreover, the Lord will bring upon you every kind of sickness and plague not mentioned in this scroll of commandments, until you have perished.
- Deuteronomy 28:62 - There will be very few of you left, though at one time you were as numerous as the stars in the sky, because you will have disobeyed the Lord your God.
- Deuteronomy 28:63 - This is what will happen: Just as the Lord delighted to do good for you and make you numerous, he will take delight in destroying and decimating you. You will be uprooted from the land you are about to possess.
- Deuteronomy 28:64 - The Lord will scatter you among all nations, from one end of the earth to the other. There you will worship other gods that neither you nor your ancestors have known, gods of wood and stone.
- Deuteronomy 28:65 - Among those nations you will have no rest nor will there be a place of peaceful rest for the soles of your feet, for there the Lord will give you an anxious heart, failing eyesight, and a spirit of despair.
- Deuteronomy 28:66 - Your life will hang in doubt before you; you will be terrified by night and day and will have no certainty of surviving from one day to the next.
- Deuteronomy 28:67 - In the morning you will say, ‘If only it were evening!’ And in the evening you will say, ‘I wish it were morning!’ because of the things you will fear and the things you will see.
- Deuteronomy 28:68 - Then the Lord will make you return to Egypt by ship, over a route I said to you that you would never see again. There you will sell yourselves to your enemies as male and female slaves, but no one will buy you.”
- 1 Kings 21:18 - “Get up, go down and meet King Ahab of Israel who lives in Samaria. He is at the vineyard of Naboth; he has gone down there to take possession of it.
- 1 Kings 21:19 - Say to him, ‘This is what the Lord says: “Haven’t you committed murder and taken possession of the property of the deceased?”’ Then say to him, ‘This is what the Lord says: “In the spot where dogs licked up Naboth’s blood they will also lick up your blood – yes, yours!”’”
- 1 Kings 21:20 - When Elijah arrived, Ahab said to him, “So, you have found me, my enemy!” Elijah replied, “I have found you, because you are committed to doing evil in the sight of the Lord.
- 1 Kings 21:21 - The Lord says, ‘Look, I am ready to bring disaster on you. I will destroy you and cut off every last male belonging to Ahab in Israel, including even the weak and incapacitated.
- 1 Kings 21:22 - I will make your dynasty like those of Jeroboam son of Nebat and Baasha son of Ahijah because you angered me and made Israel sin.’
- 1 Kings 21:23 - The Lord says this about Jezebel, ‘Dogs will devour Jezebel by the outer wall of Jezreel.’
- 1 Kings 21:24 - As for Ahab’s family, dogs will eat the ones who die in the city, and the birds of the sky will eat the ones who die in the country.”
- Deuteronomy 4:26 - I invoke heaven and earth as witnesses against you today that you will surely and swiftly be removed from the very land you are about to cross the Jordan to possess. You will not last long there because you will surely be annihilated.
- Deuteronomy 4:27 - Then the Lord will scatter you among the peoples and there will be very few of you among the nations where the Lord will drive you.
- 1 Kings 14:7 - Go, tell Jeroboam, ‘This is what the Lord God of Israel says: “I raised you up from among the people and made you ruler over my people Israel.
- 1 Kings 14:8 - I tore the kingdom away from the Davidic dynasty and gave it to you. But you are not like my servant David, who kept my commandments and followed me wholeheartedly by doing only what I approve.
- 1 Kings 14:9 - You have sinned more than all who came before you. You went and angered me by making other gods, formed out of metal; you have completely disregarded me.
- 1 Kings 14:10 - So I am ready to bring disaster on the dynasty of Jeroboam. I will cut off every last male belonging to Jeroboam in Israel, including even the weak and incapacitated. I will burn up the dynasty of Jeroboam, just as one burns manure until it is completely consumed.
- 1 Kings 14:11 - Dogs will eat the members of your family who die in the city, and the birds of the sky will eat the ones who die in the country.”’ Indeed, the Lord has announced it!
- 1 Kings 14:12 - “As for you, get up and go home. When you set foot in the city, the boy will die.
- 1 Kings 14:13 - All Israel will mourn him and bury him. He is the only one in Jeroboam’s family who will receive a decent burial, for he is the only one in whom the Lord God of Israel found anything good.
- 1 Kings 14:14 - The Lord will raise up a king over Israel who will cut off Jeroboam’s dynasty. It is ready to happen!
- 1 Kings 14:15 - The Lord will attack Israel, making it like a reed that sways in the water. He will remove Israel from this good land he gave to their ancestors and scatter them beyond the Euphrates River, because they angered the Lord by making Asherah poles.
- Leviticus 26:14 - “‘If, however, you do not obey me and keep all these commandments –
- Leviticus 26:15 - if you reject my statutes and abhor my regulations so that you do not keep all my commandments and you break my covenant –
- Leviticus 26:16 - I for my part will do this to you: I will inflict horror on you, consumption and fever, which diminish eyesight and drain away the vitality of life. You will sow your seed in vain because your enemies will eat it.
- Leviticus 26:17 - I will set my face against you. You will be struck down before your enemies, those who hate you will rule over you, and you will flee when there is no one pursuing you.
- Leviticus 26:18 - “‘If, in spite of all these things, you do not obey me, I will discipline you seven times more on account of your sins.
- Leviticus 26:19 - I will break your strong pride and make your sky like iron and your land like bronze.
- Leviticus 26:20 - Your strength will be used up in vain, your land will not give its yield, and the trees of the land will not produce their fruit.
- Leviticus 26:21 - “‘If you walk in hostility against me and are not willing to obey me, I will increase your affliction seven times according to your sins.
- Leviticus 26:22 - I will send the wild animals against you and they will bereave you of your children, annihilate your cattle, and diminish your population so that your roads will become deserted.
- Leviticus 26:23 - “‘If in spite of these things you do not allow yourselves to be disciplined and you walk in hostility against me,
- Leviticus 26:24 - I myself will also walk in hostility against you and strike you seven times on account of your sins.
- Leviticus 26:25 - I will bring on you an avenging sword, a covenant vengeance. Although you will gather together into your cities, I will send pestilence among you and you will be given into enemy hands.
- Leviticus 26:26 - When I break off your supply of bread, ten women will bake your bread in one oven; they will ration your bread by weight, and you will eat and not be satisfied.
- Leviticus 26:27 - “‘If in spite of this you do not obey me but walk in hostility against me,
- Leviticus 26:28 - I will walk in hostile rage against you and I myself will also discipline you seven times on account of your sins.
- Leviticus 26:29 - You will eat the flesh of your sons and the flesh of your daughters.
- Leviticus 26:30 - I will destroy your high places and cut down your incense altars, and I will stack your dead bodies on top of the lifeless bodies of your idols. I will abhor you.
- Leviticus 26:31 - I will lay your cities waste and make your sanctuaries desolate, and I will refuse to smell your soothing aromas.
- Leviticus 26:32 - I myself will make the land desolate and your enemies who live in it will be appalled.
- Leviticus 26:33 - I will scatter you among the nations and unsheathe the sword after you, so your land will become desolate and your cities will become a waste.
- Leviticus 26:34 - “‘Then the land will make up for its Sabbaths all the days it lies desolate while you are in the land of your enemies; then the land will rest and make up its Sabbaths.
- Leviticus 26:35 - All the days of the desolation it will have the rest it did not have on your Sabbaths when you lived on it.
- Leviticus 26:36 - “‘As for the ones who remain among you, I will bring despair into their hearts in the lands of their enemies. The sound of a blowing leaf will pursue them, and they will flee as one who flees the sword and fall down even though there is no pursuer.
- Leviticus 26:37 - They will stumble over each other as those who flee before a sword, though there is no pursuer, and there will be no one to take a stand for you before your enemies.
- Leviticus 26:38 - You will perish among the nations; the land of your enemies will consume you.
- Leviticus 26:39 - “‘As for the ones who remain among you, they will rot away because of their iniquity in the lands of your enemies, and they will also rot away because of their ancestors’ iniquities which are with them.
- Leviticus 26:40 - However, when they confess their iniquity and their ancestors’ iniquity which they committed by trespassing against me, by which they also walked in hostility against me
- Leviticus 26:41 - (and I myself will walk in hostility against them and bring them into the land of their enemies), and then their uncircumcised hearts become humbled and they make up for their iniquity,
- Leviticus 26:42 - I will remember my covenant with Jacob and also my covenant with Isaac and also my covenant with Abraham, and I will remember the land.
- Leviticus 26:43 - The land will be abandoned by them in order that it may make up for its Sabbaths while it is made desolate without them, and they will make up for their iniquity because they have rejected my regulations and have abhorred my statutes.
- Leviticus 26:44 - In spite of this, however, when they are in the land of their enemies I will not reject them and abhor them to make a complete end of them, to break my covenant with them, for I am the Lord their God.
- Leviticus 26:45 - I will remember for them the covenant with their ancestors whom I brought out from the land of Egypt in the sight of the nations to be their God. I am the Lord.’”
- Leviticus 26:46 - These are the statutes, regulations, and instructions which the Lord established between himself and the Israelites at Mount Sinai through Moses.
- Isaiah 24:1 - Look, the Lord is ready to devastate the earth and leave it in ruins; he will mar its surface and scatter its inhabitants.
- Isaiah 24:2 - Everyone will suffer – the priest as well as the people, the master as well as the servant, the elegant lady as well as the female attendant, the seller as well as the buyer, the borrower as well as the lender, the creditor as well as the debtor.
- Isaiah 24:3 - The earth will be completely devastated and thoroughly ransacked. For the Lord has decreed this judgment.
- Isaiah 24:4 - The earth dries up and withers, the world shrivels up and withers; the prominent people of the earth fade away.
- Isaiah 24:5 - The earth is defiled by its inhabitants, for they have violated laws, disregarded the regulation, and broken the permanent treaty.
- Isaiah 24:6 - So a treaty curse devours the earth; its inhabitants pay for their guilt. This is why the inhabitants of the earth disappear, and are reduced to just a handful of people.
- Isaiah 24:7 - The new wine dries up, the vines shrivel up, all those who like to celebrate groan.
- Isaiah 24:8 - The happy sound of the tambourines stops, the revelry of those who celebrate comes to a halt, the happy sound of the harp ceases.
- Isaiah 24:9 - They no longer sing and drink wine; the beer tastes bitter to those who drink it.
- Isaiah 24:10 - The ruined town is shattered; all of the houses are shut up tight.
- Isaiah 24:11 - They howl in the streets because of what happened to the wine; all joy turns to sorrow; celebrations disappear from the earth.
- Isaiah 24:12 - The city is left in ruins; the gate is reduced to rubble.
- Isaiah 24:13 - This is what will happen throughout the earth, among the nations. It will be like when they beat an olive tree, and just a few olives are left at the end of the harvest.
- Isaiah 24:14 - They lift their voices and shout joyfully; they praise the majesty of the Lord in the west.
- Isaiah 24:15 - So in the east extol the Lord, along the seacoasts extol the fame of the Lord God of Israel.
- Isaiah 24:16 - From the ends of the earth we hear songs – the Just One is majestic. But I say, “I’m wasting away! I’m wasting away! I’m doomed! Deceivers deceive, deceivers thoroughly deceive!”
- Isaiah 24:17 - Terror, pit, and snare are ready to overtake you inhabitants of the earth!
- Isaiah 24:18 - The one who runs away from the sound of the terror will fall into the pit; the one who climbs out of the pit, will be trapped by the snare. For the floodgates of the heavens are opened up and the foundations of the earth shake.
- Isaiah 24:19 - The earth is broken in pieces, the earth is ripped to shreds, the earth shakes violently.
- Isaiah 24:20 - The earth will stagger around like a drunk; it will sway back and forth like a hut in a windstorm. Its sin will weigh it down, and it will fall and never get up again.
- Isaiah 24:21 - At that time the Lord will punish the heavenly forces in the heavens and the earthly kings on the earth.
- Isaiah 24:22 - They will be imprisoned in a pit, locked up in a prison, and after staying there for a long time, they will be punished.
- Isaiah 24:23 - The full moon will be covered up, the bright sun will be darkened; for the Lord who commands armies will rule on Mount Zion in Jerusalem in the presence of his assembly, in majestic splendor.
- 1 Samuel 3:11 - The Lord said to Samuel, “Look! I am about to do something in Israel; when anyone hears about it, both of his ears will tingle.
- 1 Samuel 3:12 - On that day I will carry out against Eli everything that I spoke about his house – from start to finish!
- 1 Samuel 3:13 - You should tell him that I am about to judge his house forever because of the sin that he knew about. For his sons were cursing God, and he did not rebuke them.
- 1 Samuel 3:14 - Therefore I swore an oath to the house of Eli, ‘The sin of the house of Eli can never be forgiven by sacrifice or by grain offering.’”
- 1 Kings 17:1 - Elijah the Tishbite, from Tishbe in Gilead, said to Ahab, “As certainly as the Lord God of Israel lives (whom I serve), there will be no dew or rain in the years ahead unless I give the command.”
- Amos 1:2 - Amos said: “The Lord comes roaring out of Zion; from Jerusalem he comes bellowing! The shepherds’ pastures wilt; the summit of Carmel withers.”
