She went out, big as you please, and took up a whore’s life also. 2 Kings 17:13 - Still, the Lord warned Israel and Judah through every prophet and every seer, saying, “Turn from your evil ways and keep my commands and statutes according to the whole law I commanded your ancestors and sent to you through my servants the prophets.”
2 Kings 17:14 - But they would not listen. Instead they became obstinate like their ancestors who did not believe the Lord their God.
2 Kings 17:15 - They rejected his statutes and his covenant he had made with their ancestors and the warnings he had given them. They followed worthless idols and became worthless themselves, following the surrounding nations the Lord had commanded them not to imitate.
2 Kings 17:16 - They abandoned all the commands of the Lord their God. They made cast images for themselves, two calves, and an Asherah pole. They bowed in worship to all the stars in the sky and served Baal.
2 Kings 17:17 - They sacrificed their sons and daughters in the fire and practiced divination and interpreted omens. They devoted themselves to do what was evil in the Lord’s sight and angered him.
Ezekiel 20:28 - When I brought them into the land that I swore to give them and they saw any high hill or leafy tree, they offered their sacrifices and presented their offensive offerings there. They also sent up their pleasing aromas and poured out their drink offerings there.
Jeremiah 3:8 - I observed that it was because unfaithful Israel had committed adultery that I had sent her away and had given her a certificate of divorce. Nevertheless, her treacherous sister Judah was not afraid but also went and prostituted herself.
Jeremiah 7:24 - Yet they didn’t listen or pay attention but followed their own advice and their own stubborn, evil heart. They went backward and not forward.
Jeremiah 17:2 - while their children remember their altars and their Asherah poles, by the green trees on the high hills —
Ezekiel 23:11 - “Now her sister Oholibah saw this, but she was even more depraved in her lust than Oholah, and made her promiscuous acts worse than those of her sister.
Jeremiah 2:19 - Your own evil will discipline you; your own apostasies will reprimand you. Recognize how evil and bitter it is for you to abandon the Lord your God and to have no fear of me. This is the declaration of the Lord God of Armies.
Jeremiah 2:20 - For long ago I broke your yoke; I tore off your chains. You insisted, “I will not serve!” On every high hill and under every green tree you lay down like a prostitute.
Ezekiel 16:24 - you built yourself a mound and made yourself an elevated place in every square.
Ezekiel 16:25 - You built your elevated place at the head of every street and turned your beauty into a detestable thing. You spread your legs to everyone who passed by and increased your prostitution.
Jeremiah 3:11 - The Lord announced to me, “Unfaithful Israel has shown herself more righteous than treacherous Judah.
Jeremiah 3:12 - Go, proclaim these words to the north, and say, ‘Return, unfaithful Israel. This is the Lord’s declaration. I will not look on you with anger, for I am unfailing in my love. This is the Lord’s declaration. I will not be angry forever.
Jeremiah 3:13 - Only acknowledge your guilt — you have rebelled against the Lord your God. You have scattered your favors to strangers under every green tree and have not obeyed me. This is the Lord’s declaration.
Jeremiah 3:14 - “‘Return, you faithless children — this is the Lord’s declaration — for I am your master, and I will take you, one from a city and two from a family, and I will bring you to Zion.
