  • Luke 16:23 - In the place of the dead, the rich man was suffering terribly. He looked up and saw Abraham far away. Lazarus was by his side.
  • Luke 16:24 - So the rich man called out, ‘Father Abraham! Have pity on me! Send Lazarus to dip the tip of his finger in water. Then he can cool my tongue with it. I am in terrible pain in this fire.’
  • Luke 16:25 - “But Abraham replied, ‘Son, remember what happened in your lifetime. You received your good things. Lazarus received bad things. Now he is comforted here, and you are in terrible pain.
  • John 11:3 - So the sisters sent a message to Jesus. “Lord,” they told him, “the one you love is sick.”
  • John 11:5 - Jesus loved Martha and her sister and Lazarus.
  • John 11:6 - So after he heard Lazarus was sick, he stayed where he was for two more days.
  • Matthew 21:17 - Then Jesus left the people and went out of the city to Bethany. He spent the night there.
  • Luke 10:38 - Jesus and his disciples went on their way. Jesus came to a village where a woman named Martha lived. She welcomed him into her home.
  • Luke 10:39 - She had a sister named Mary. Mary sat at the Lord’s feet listening to what he said.
  • Luke 10:40 - But Martha was busy with all the things that had to be done. She came to Jesus and said, “Lord, my sister has left me to do the work by myself. Don’t you care? Tell her to help me!”
  • Luke 10:41 - “Martha, Martha,” the Lord answered. “You are worried and upset about many things.
  • Luke 10:42 - But few things are needed. Really, only one thing is needed. Mary has chosen what is better. And it will not be taken away from her.”
  • John 12:17 - A crowd had been with Jesus when he called Lazarus from the tomb and raised him from the dead. So they continued to tell everyone about what had happened.
