  • Micah 6:12 - Your rich people are violent; your inhabitants are liars and their tongues speak deceitfully.
  • Amos 5:11 - You levy a straw tax on the poor and impose a tax on their grain. Therefore, though you have built stone mansions, you will not live in them; though you have planted lush vineyards, you will not drink their wine.
  • Amos 5:12 - For I know how many are your offenses and how great your sins. There are those who oppress the innocent and take bribes and deprive the poor of justice in the courts.
  • 1 Samuel 12:3 - Here I stand. Testify against me in the presence of the Lord and his anointed. Whose ox have I taken? Whose donkey have I taken? Whom have I cheated? Whom have I oppressed?   • 1 Samuel 12:4 - “You have not cheated or oppressed us,” they replied. “You have not taken anything from anyone’s hand.”
  • James 5:1 - Now listen, you rich people, weep and wail because of the misery that is coming on you.

  • James 5:3 - Your gold and silver are corroded. Their corrosion will testify against you and eat your flesh like fire. You have hoarded wealth in the last days.
  • James 5:4 - Look! The wages you failed to pay the workers who mowed your fields are crying out against you. The cries of the harvesters have reached the ears of the Lord Almighty.
  • James 5:5 - You have lived on earth in luxury and self-indulgence. You have fattened yourselves in the day of slaughter.
  • Leviticus 19:13 - “ ‘Do not defraud or rob your neighbor. “ ‘Do not hold back the wages of a hired worker overnight.
  • Leviticus 25:17 - Do not take advantage of each other, but fear your God. I am the Lord your God.
