  • Luke 16:25 - “But Abraham replied, ‘Son, remember that in your lifetime you received your good things, while Lazarus received bad things, but now he is comforted here and you are in agony.
  • Jeremiah 5:4 - I thought, “These are only the poor; they are foolish, for they do not know the way of the Lord, the requirements of their God.
  • Jeremiah 5:5 - So I will go to the leaders and speak to them; surely they know the way of the Lord, the requirements of their God.” But with one accord they too had broken off the yoke and torn off the bonds.
  • Jeremiah 5:6 - Therefore a lion from the forest will attack them, a wolf from the desert will ravage them, a leopard will lie in wait near their towns to tear to pieces any who venture out, for their rebellion is great and their backslidings many.
  • Luke 18:23 - When he heard this, he became very sad, because he was very wealthy.
  • Luke 18:24 - Jesus looked at him and said, “How hard it is for the rich to enter the kingdom of God!

  • James 5:1 - Now listen, you rich people, weep and wail because of the misery that is coming on you.
  • James 5:2 - Your wealth has rotted, and moths have eaten your clothes.
  • James 5:3 - Your gold and silver are corroded. Their corrosion will testify against you and eat your flesh like fire. You have hoarded wealth in the last days.
  • James 5:4 - Look! The wages you failed to pay the workers who mowed your fields are crying out against you. The cries of the harvesters have reached the ears of the Lord Almighty.
  • James 5:5 - You have lived on earth in luxury and self-indulgence. You have fattened yourselves in the day of slaughter.
  • James 5:6 - You have condemned and murdered the innocent one, who was not opposing you.
  • James 2:6 - But you have dishonored the poor. Is it not the rich who are exploiting you? Are they not the ones who are dragging you into court?
  • 1 Timothy 6:17 - Command those who are rich in this present world not to be arrogant nor to put their hope in wealth, which is so uncertain, but to put their hope in God, who richly provides us with everything for our enjoyment.
  • Psalm 49:6 - those who trust in their wealth and boast of their great riches?
  • Psalm 49:7 - No one can redeem the life of another or give to God a ransom for them—
  • Psalm 49:16 - Do not be overawed when others grow rich, when the splendor of their houses increases;
  • Psalm 49:17 - for they will take nothing with them when they die, their splendor will not descend with them.
  • Psalm 49:18 - Though while they live they count themselves blessed— and people praise you when you prosper—
  • Psalm 49:19 - they will join those who have gone before them, who will never again see the light of life.
  • Matthew 6:2 - “So when you give to the needy, do not announce it with trumpets, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and on the streets, to be honored by others. Truly I tell you, they have received their reward in full.
