  • Romans 5:8 - But God showed his great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners.
  • Luke 19:7 - But the people were displeased. “He has gone to be the guest of a notorious sinner,” they grumbled.
  • John 9:31 - We know that God doesn’t listen to sinners, but he is ready to hear those who worship him and do his will.
  • Luke 5:30 - But the Pharisees and their teachers of religious law complained bitterly to Jesus’ disciples, “Why do you eat and drink with such scum? ”
  • Mark 14:3 - Meanwhile, Jesus was in Bethany at the home of Simon, a man who had previously had leprosy. While he was eating, a woman came in with a beautiful alabaster jar of expensive perfume made from essence of nard. She broke open the jar and poured the perfume over his head.
  • Mark 14:4 - Some of those at the table were indignant. “Why waste such expensive perfume?” they asked.
  • Mark 14:5 - “It could have been sold for a year’s wages and the money given to the poor!” So they scolded her harshly.
  • Mark 14:6 - But Jesus replied, “Leave her alone. Why criticize her for doing such a good thing to me?
  • Mark 14:7 - You will always have the poor among you, and you can help them whenever you want to. But you will not always have me.
  • Mark 14:8 - She has done what she could and has anointed my body for burial ahead of time.
  • Mark 14:9 - I tell you the truth, wherever the Good News is preached throughout the world, this woman’s deed will be remembered and discussed.”
  • Matthew 21:31 - “Which of the two obeyed his father?” They replied, “The first.” Then Jesus explained his meaning: “I tell you the truth, corrupt tax collectors and prostitutes will get into the Kingdom of God before you do.

  • Luke 7:37 - When a certain immoral woman from that city heard he was eating there, she brought a beautiful alabaster jar filled with expensive perfume.
  • Luke 7:38 - Then she knelt behind him at his feet, weeping. Her tears fell on his feet, and she wiped them off with her hair. Then she kept kissing his feet and putting perfume on them.
  • Luke 7:39 - When the Pharisee who had invited him saw this, he said to himself, “If this man were a prophet, he would know what kind of woman is touching him. She’s a sinner!”
  • Luke 18:13 - “But the tax collector stood at a distance and dared not even lift his eyes to heaven as he prayed. Instead, he beat his chest in sorrow, saying, ‘O God, be merciful to me, for I am a sinner.’
  • 1 Peter 4:18 - And also, “If the righteous are barely saved, what will happen to godless sinners?”
  • 1 Timothy 1:9 - For the law was not intended for people who do what is right. It is for people who are lawless and rebellious, who are ungodly and sinful, who consider nothing sacred and defile what is holy, who kill their father or mother or commit other murders.
