  • Acts 8:18 - And when Simon saw that through the laying on of the apostles’ hands the Holy Spirit was given, he offered them money,
  • Acts 8:19 - saying, “Give me this power also, that anyone on whom I lay hands may receive the Holy Spirit.”
  • Acts 8:20 - But Peter said to him, “Your money perish with you, because you thought that the gift of God could be purchased with money!
  • Acts 8:21 - You have neither part nor portion in this matter, for your heart is not right in the sight of God.
  • Acts 8:22 - Repent therefore of this your wickedness, and pray God if perhaps the thought of your heart may be forgiven you.

  • Acts 5:5 - Then Ananias, hearing these words, fell down and breathed his last. So great fear came upon all those who heard these things.
  • Acts 5:6 - And the young men arose and wrapped him up, carried him out, and buried him.
  • Acts 5:7 - Now it was about three hours later when his wife came in, not knowing what had happened.
  • Acts 5:8 - And Peter answered her, “Tell me whether you sold the land for so much?” She said, “Yes, for so much.”
  • Acts 5:9 - Then Peter said to her, “How is it that you have agreed together to test the Spirit of the Lord? Look, the feet of those who have buried your husband are at the door, and they will carry you out.”
  • Acts 5:10 - Then immediately she fell down at his feet and breathed her last. And the young men came in and found her dead, and carrying her out, buried her by her husband.
  • 2 Peter 2:1 - But there were also false prophets among the people, even as there will be false teachers among you, who will secretly bring in destructive heresies, even denying the Lord who bought them, and bring on themselves swift destruction.

  • 1 Corinthians 5:1 - It is actually reported that there is sexual immorality among you, and such sexual immorality as is not even named among the Gentiles—that a man has his father’s wife!
  • 1 Corinthians 5:2 - And you are puffed up, and have not rather mourned, that he who has done this deed might be taken away from among you.
  • 1 Corinthians 5:3 - For I indeed, as absent in body but present in spirit, have already judged (as though I were present) him who has so done this deed.

  • 2 Peter 2:18 - For when they speak great swelling words of emptiness, they allure through the lusts of the flesh, through lewdness, the ones who have actually escaped from those who live in error.
  • 2 Peter 2:19 - While they promise them liberty, they themselves are slaves of corruption; for by whom a person is overcome, by him also he is brought into bondage.
  • 2 Peter 2:20 - For if, after they have escaped the pollutions of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, they are again entangled in them and overcome, the latter end is worse for them than the beginning.
  • 2 Peter 2:21 - For it would have been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than having known it, to turn from the holy commandment delivered to them.
  • 2 Peter 2:22 - But it has happened to them according to the true proverb: “A dog returns to his own vomit,” and, “a sow, having washed, to her wallowing in the mire.”
