  • Isaiah 60:13 - The glory of Lebanon will come to you, The cypress, the juniper, and the cedar together, To beautify the place of My sanctuary; And I will honor and make the place of My feet glorious.
  • Isaiah 60:14 - The sons of those who oppressed you will come bowing down to you [in submission], And all those who despised you and treated you disrespectfully will bow down at the soles of your feet, And they will call you the City of the Lord, The Zion of the Holy One of Israel.
  • Isaiah 60:15 - “Whereas you [Jerusalem] have been abandoned and hated With no one passing through, I will make you an object of pride forever, A joy from generation to generation.
  • Isaiah 60:16 - You will suck the milk of the [Gentile] nations And suck the breast (abundance) of kings; Then you will recognize and know that I, the Lord, am your Savior And your Redeemer, the Mighty One of Jacob.
  • 2 Chronicles 1:9 - Now, O Lord God, Your promise to my father David is fulfilled, for You have made me king over a people as numerous as the dust of the earth.
  • 2 Chronicles 1:10 - Give me wisdom and knowledge, so that I may go out and come in [performing my duties] before this people, for [otherwise] who can rule and administer justice to this great people of Yours?”
  • 2 Samuel 7:1 - When King David lived in his house (palace) and the Lord had given him rest from all his surrounding enemies,
  • 2 Samuel 7:2 - the king said to Nathan the prophet, “See now, I dwell in a house of cedar, but the ark of God dwells within tent curtains.”
  • 2 Samuel 7:3 - And Nathan said to the king, “Go, do everything that is in your heart, for the Lord is with you.”
  • 1 Chronicles 28:2 - Then David the king rose to his feet and said, “Hear me, my brothers [in arms] and my people. I had intended to build a permanent home for the ark of the covenant of the Lord and as a footstool for our God, and I prepared materials for the building.
  • 1 Chronicles 28:3 - But God said to me, ‘You shall not build a house for My Name (Presence), because you are a man of war and have shed blood.’
  • 1 Chronicles 28:4 - However, the Lord, the God of Israel, chose me from all in my father’s house to be king over Israel forever. For He has chosen Judah to be the leader; and in the house (tribe) of Judah he chose the house of my father; and among the sons of my father He was pleased to make me king over all Israel.
  • 1 Chronicles 28:5 - Of all my sons (for the Lord has given me many sons) He has chosen my son Solomon to sit on the throne of the kingdom of the Lord over Israel.
  • 1 Chronicles 28:6 - He said to me, ‘Solomon your son shall build My house and My courts; for I have chosen him to be a son to Me, and I will be a father to him.
  • 1 Chronicles 28:7 - I will establish his kingdom forever if he loyally and continually obeys My commandments and My ordinances, as is done today.’
  • 1 Chronicles 28:8 - Now therefore, in the sight of all Israel, the assembly of the Lord, and in the hearing of our God, observe and seek after all the commandments of the Lord your God so that you may possess the good land and leave it as an inheritance to your sons after you forever.
  • 1 Chronicles 28:9 - “As for you, Solomon my son, know the God of your father [have personal knowledge of Him, be acquainted with, and understand Him; appreciate, heed, and cherish Him] and serve Him with a blameless heart and a willing mind; for the Lord searches all hearts and minds, and understands every intent and inclination of the thoughts. If you seek Him [inquiring for and of Him and requiring Him as your first and vital necessity] He will let you find Him; but if you abandon (turn away from) Him, He will reject you forever.
  • 1 Chronicles 28:10 - Consider this carefully, for the Lord has chosen you to build a house for the sanctuary. Be courageous and strong and do it.”
  • 1 Chronicles 28:11 - Then David gave to his son Solomon the plan for the porch of the temple, its buildings, its treasuries, its upper chambers, its inner rooms, and for the place for the [ark and its] mercy seat;
  • 1 Chronicles 28:12 - and the plan of all that he had in mind, for the courts of the house of the Lord, and for all the surrounding rooms, for the storerooms of the house of God and for the storerooms for the dedicated gifts and offerings;
  • 1 Chronicles 28:13 - the plan for the divisions of the priests and the Levites and for all the work of the service in the house of the Lord and for all the utensils for service in the house of the Lord;
  • 1 Chronicles 28:14 - for the golden utensils, the weight of gold and silver for all the gold and silver articles for every kind of service;
  • 1 Chronicles 28:15 - and the weight of gold for the golden lampstands and their golden lamps, with the weight of each lampstand and its lamps; and the weight of silver for the silver lampstands, with the weight of each lampstand and its lamps according to the use of each lampstand;
  • 1 Chronicles 28:16 - the gold by weight for each table of showbread, and the silver for the tables of silver;
  • 1 Chronicles 28:17 - and the forks, the basins, and the pitchers of pure gold; and for the golden bowls with the weight for each bowl; and for the silver bowls with the weight for each bowl;
  • 2 Chronicles 17:3 - The Lord was with Jehoshaphat because he followed the example of his father (ancestor) David. He did not seek [to follow] the Baals [the false gods],
  • 2 Chronicles 17:4 - but sought the God of his father, and walked in (obeyed) His commandments, and did not act as Israel did.
  • 2 Chronicles 17:5 - Therefore the Lord established the kingdom in his hand; and all Judah brought tribute to Jehoshaphat, and he had great wealth and honor.
  • 2 Chronicles 17:6 - His heart was encouraged and he took great pride in the ways of the Lord; moreover, he again removed the high places [of pagan worship] and the Asherim from Judah.
  • 2 Chronicles 17:7 - Then in the third year of his reign he sent his officials, Ben-hail, Obadiah, Zechariah, Nethanel, and Micaiah, to teach in the cities of Judah;
  • 2 Chronicles 17:8 - and with them were the Levites—Shemaiah, Nethaniah, Zebadiah, Asahel, Shemiramoth, Jehonathan, Adonijah, Tobijah, and Tobadonijah; and with them the priests Elishama and Jehoram.
  • 2 Chronicles 17:9 - They taught in Judah having the Book of the Law of the Lord with them; they went throughout all the cities of Judah and taught among the people.
  • Isaiah 49:23 - Kings will be your attendants, And their princesses your nurses. They will bow down to you with their faces to the earth And lick the dust of your feet; And you shall know [with an understanding based on personal experience] that I am the Lord; For they shall not be put to shame who wait and hope expectantly for Me.
  • 1 Timothy 6:17 - As for the rich in this present world, instruct them not to be conceited and arrogant, nor to set their hope on the uncertainty of riches, but on God, who richly and ceaselessly provides us with everything for our enjoyment.
  • 1 Timothy 6:18 - Instruct them to do good, to be rich in good works, to be generous, willing to share [with others].
  • 2 Chronicles 15:8 - And when Asa heard these words, the prophecy of Azariah the son of Oded the prophet, he took courage and removed the repulsive idols from all the land of Judah and Benjamin and from the cities which he had captured in the hill country of Ephraim. Then he restored the altar [of burnt offering] of the Lord which was in front of the porch [of the temple] of the Lord.
  • 2 Chronicles 15:9 - He gathered all Judah and Benjamin and the strangers who were with them out of Ephraim, Manasseh, and Simeon, for they came over to Asa from Israel in large numbers when they saw that the Lord his God was with him.
  • 2 Chronicles 15:10 - So they assembled at Jerusalem in the third month of the fifteenth year of Asa’s reign.
  • 2 Chronicles 15:11 - They sacrificed to the Lord on that day from the spoil they had brought—700 oxen and 7,000 sheep.
  • 2 Chronicles 15:12 - They entered into a covenant (solemn agreement) to seek the Lord God of their fathers with all their heart and soul;
  • 2 Chronicles 15:13 - and that whoever would not seek the Lord God of Israel, was to be put to death, whether young or old, man or woman.
  • 2 Chronicles 15:14 - They swore an oath to the Lord with a loud voice, with [jubilant] shouting, with trumpets, and with horns.
  • 2 Chronicles 15:15 - All Judah rejoiced over the oath, for they had sworn with all their heart and had sought Him with their whole heart, and He let them find Him. So the Lord gave them rest on every side.
  • Nehemiah 5:14 - Moreover, from the day that I was appointed to be their governor in the land of Judah, from the twentieth year to the thirty-second year of King Artaxerxes, for twelve years, neither I nor my relatives have eaten the governor’s food allowance.
  • Nehemiah 5:15 - But the former governors who were [in office] before me put heavy burdens on the people and took food and wine from them in addition to forty shekels of silver [as an excessive monthly salary]; even their servants assumed authority over the people. But I did not do so because of the [reverent] fear of God.
  • Nehemiah 5:16 - I also applied myself to the work on this wall; we did not buy any land, and all my servants were gathered together there for the work.
  • Nehemiah 5:17 - Moreover, there were at my table a hundred and fifty Jews and officials, besides those who came to us from the nations that were around us.
  • Nehemiah 5:18 - Now the following were prepared for each day: one ox and six choice sheep; also fowls (poultry) were prepared for me; and in intervals of ten days all sorts of wine was provided in abundance. Yet for all this, I did not demand the governor’s food allowance, because the servitude was heavy on this people.
  • Nehemiah 5:19 - Remember me, O my God, for good, according to all I have done for this people.
  • 2 Timothy 4:5 - But as for you, be clear-headed in every situation [stay calm and cool and steady], endure every hardship [without flinching], do the work of an evangelist, fulfill [the duties of] your ministry.
  • 2 Timothy 4:6 - For I am already being poured out as a drink offering, and the time of my departure [from this world] is at hand and I will soon go free.
  • 2 Timothy 4:7 - I have fought the good and worthy and noble fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith [firmly guarding the gospel against error].
  • 2 Timothy 4:8 - In the future there is reserved for me the [victor’s] crown of righteousness [for being right with God and doing right], which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that [great] day—and not to me only, but also to all those who have loved and longed for and welcomed His appearing.
  • Isaiah 23:18 - But her commercial gain and her prostitute’s wages will be dedicated to the Lord; it will not be treasured or stored up, but her commercial gain will become sufficient food and stately clothing for those who dwell (minister) in the presence of the Lord.
  • Philemon 1:6 - I pray that the sharing of your faith may become effective and powerful because of your accurate knowledge of every good thing which is ours in Christ.
  • Philemon 1:7 - For I have had great joy and comfort and encouragement from your love, because the hearts of the saints (God’s people) have been refreshed through you, my brother.
  • 2 Chronicles 33:15 - He also removed the foreign gods and the idol from the house of the Lord, as well as all the altars which he had built on the mountain of the house of the Lord and in Jerusalem; and he threw them outside the city.
  • 2 Chronicles 33:16 - Then he set up the altar of the Lord and sacrificed peace offerings and thank offerings on it; and he ordered Judah to serve the Lord God of Israel.
  • 1 Corinthians 15:10 - But by the [remarkable] grace of God I am what I am, and His grace toward me was not without effect. In fact, I worked harder than all of the apostles, though it was not I, but the grace of God [His unmerited favor and blessing which was] with me.
  • Romans 15:18 - For I will not [even] presume to speak of anything except what Christ has done through me [as an instrument in His hands], resulting in the obedience of the Gentiles [to the gospel], by word and deed,
  • Romans 15:19 - with the power of signs and wonders, [and all of it] in the power of the Spirit. So [starting] from Jerusalem and as far away as Illyricum, I have fully preached the gospel [faithfully preaching the good news] of Christ [where it had not before been preached].
  • 1 Chronicles 13:1 - David consulted with the captains of the thousands and the hundreds, even with every leader.
  • 1 Chronicles 13:2 - David said to all the assembly of Israel, “If it seems good to you, and if it is from the Lord our God, let us send word everywhere to our fellow countrymen who remain in all the land of Israel, and to the priests and Levites who are with them in their cities with pasture lands, so that they may meet with us;
  • 1 Chronicles 13:3 - and let us bring back the ark of our God to us, for we did not seek it during the days of Saul.”
  • 3 John 1:5 - Beloved, you are acting faithfully in what you are providing for the brothers, and especially when they are strangers;
  • 3 John 1:6 - and they have testified before the church of your love and friendship. You will do well to [assist them and] send them on their way in a manner worthy of God.
  • 3 John 1:7 - For these [traveling missionaries] went out for the sake of the Name [of Christ], accepting nothing [in the way of assistance] from the Gentiles.
  • 3 John 1:8 - So we ought to support such people [welcoming them as guests and providing for them], so that we may be fellow workers for the truth [that is, for the gospel message of salvation].
  • 2 Chronicles 31:20 - This is what Hezekiah did throughout Judah; and he did what was good, right, and true before the Lord his God.
  • 2 Chronicles 31:21 - Every work which he began in the service of the house of God in keeping with the law and the commandment, seeking and inquiring of his God [and longing for Him], he did with all his heart and prospered.
  • 1 Chronicles 22:1 - Then David said, “This is the house of the Lord God, and this is the altar of burnt offering for Israel.”
  • 1 Chronicles 22:2 - So David gave orders to gather the foreigners who were in the land of Israel, and he assigned stonecutters to hew out stones to build the house of God.
  • 1 Chronicles 22:3 - David prepared large quantities of iron to make nails for the doors of the gates and for the clamps (trusses), and more bronze than could be weighed;
  • 1 Chronicles 22:4 - and cedar trees beyond number, for the Sidonians and Tyrians brought large quantities of cedar timber to David.
  • 1 Chronicles 22:5 - David said, “Solomon my son is young and inexperienced, and the house that is to be built for the Lord shall be exceedingly magnificent, famous, and an object of glory and splendor throughout all lands [of the earth]. So now I will make preparations for it.” Therefore, David made ample preparations before his death.
  • 1 Chronicles 22:6 - Then he called for Solomon his son and ordered him to build a house for the Lord, the God of Israel.
  • 1 Chronicles 22:7 - David said to Solomon, “My son, I had intended to build a house for the Name (Presence) of the Lord my God.
  • 1 Chronicles 22:8 - But the word of the Lord came to me, saying, ‘You have shed much blood and have waged great wars; you shall not build a house for My Name, because you have shed so much blood on the earth before me.
  • 1 Chronicles 22:9 - Behold, a son will be born to you, who will be a man of peace. I will give him rest from all his enemies on every side; for his name shall be Solomon, and I will give peace and quiet to Israel in his days.
  • 1 Chronicles 22:10 - He shall build a house for My Name (Presence). He shall be My son and I will be his father; and I will establish his royal throne over Israel forever.’
  • 1 Chronicles 22:11 - Now, my son, may the Lord be with you so that you may be successful and build the house of the Lord your God, just as He has spoken concerning you.
  • 1 Chronicles 22:12 - Only may the Lord give you wisdom and understanding, and give you charge over Israel, so that you may keep the law of the Lord your God.
  • 1 Chronicles 22:13 - Then you will prosper, if you are careful to observe and fulfill the statutes and ordinances which the Lord commanded Moses concerning Israel. Be strong and courageous, do not fear nor be dismayed.
  • 1 Chronicles 22:14 - Now listen, with great trouble I have prepared and provided for the house of the Lord 100,000 talents of gold, 1,000,000 talents of silver, and bronze and iron beyond weighing, for they are great in quantity. I have also prepared and provided timber and stone, and you may add to them.
  • 1 Chronicles 22:15 - Further, you have workmen in abundance: stonecutters and stonemasons and carpenters, and all men who are skillful in every kind of work.
  • 1 Chronicles 22:16 - As for the gold, the silver, the bronze, and the iron, there is no limit. So arise and begin working, and may the Lord be with you.”
  • 1 Chronicles 22:17 - David also commanded all the leaders of Israel to help Solomon his son, saying,
  • 1 Chronicles 22:18 - “Is not the Lord your God with you? And has He not given you rest and peace on every side? For He has given the inhabitants of the land into my hand, and the land is subdued before the Lord and before His people.
  • 1 Chronicles 22:19 - Now set your heart and your soul to seek (inquire of, require as your vital necessity) the Lord your God. Arise and build the sanctuary of the Lord God, so that you may bring the ark of the covenant of the Lord and the holy articles and utensils of God into the house built for the Name (Presence) of the Lord.”
  • 2 Timothy 2:6 - The hard-working farmer [who labors to produce crops] ought to be the first to receive his share of the crops.
