  • James 4:9 - Let there be tears for what you have done. Let there be sorrow and deep grief. Let there be sadness instead of laughter, and gloom instead of joy.

  • Matthew 5:12 - Be happy about it! Be very glad! For a great reward awaits you in heaven. And remember, the ancient prophets were persecuted in the same way.
  • Luke 6:20 - Then Jesus turned to his disciples and said, “God blesses you who are poor, for the Kingdom of God is yours.
