Judges 1:34 - Then the Amorites forced the sons of Dan [back] into the hill country, for they would not allow them to come down into the valley;
Judges 1:35 - yet the Amorites persisted in living on Mount Heres (the mountain of the sun), in Aijalon, and in Shaalbim; but when the power of the house (descendants) of Joseph became strong and prevailed, they became forced labor.
Judges 1:36 - The border of the Amorites ran from the ascent of Akrabbim, from Sela (rock) and upward.

Deuteronomy 7:4 - for they will turn your sons away from following Me to serve other gods; then the anger of the Lord will be kindled and burn against you and He will quickly destroy you.
Deuteronomy 7:16 - And you shall consume all the peoples whom the Lord your God will give over to you; your eye shall not pity them, nor shall you serve their gods, for that would be a [deadly] trap to you.
Joshua 23:12 - For if you ever turn back and cling to the rest of these nations, these that are left among you, and intermarry with them, so that you associate with them and they with you,
Joshua 23:13 - know and understand with certainty that the Lord your God will not continue to drive these nations out from before you; but they will be a snare and trap to you, and a whip on your sides and thorns in your eyes, until you perish from this good land which the Lord your God has given you.

Psalms 106:36 - And served their idols, Which became a [dreadful] snare to them.
Judges 2:3 - So I also said, ‘I will not drive your enemies out before you; but they will be like thorns in your sides and their gods will be a snare to you.’ ”
