  • Esther 8:15 - Now Mordecai went out from the king’s presence in purple and white royal attire, with a large golden crown and a purple linen mantle. The city of Susa shouted with joy.
  • Esther 8:16 - For the Jews there was radiant happiness and joyous honor.
  • Esther 8:17 - Throughout every province and throughout every city where the king’s edict and his law arrived, the Jews experienced happiness and joy, banquets and holidays. Many of the resident peoples pretended to be Jews, because the fear of the Jews had overcome them.

  • Ecclesiastes 10:6 - Fools are placed in many positions of authority, while wealthy men sit in lowly positions.
  • 2 Chronicles 30:22 - Hezekiah expressed his appreciation to all the Levites, who demonstrated great skill in serving the Lord. They feasted for the seven days of the festival, and were making peace offerings and giving thanks to the Lord God of their ancestors.
  • 2 Chronicles 30:23 - The entire assembly then decided to celebrate for seven more days; so they joyfully celebrated for seven more days.
  • 2 Chronicles 30:24 - King Hezekiah of Judah supplied 1,000 bulls and 7,000 sheep for the assembly, while the officials supplied them with 1,000 bulls and 10,000 sheep. Many priests consecrated themselves.
  • 2 Chronicles 30:25 - The celebration included the entire assembly of Judah, the priests, the Levites, the entire assembly of those who came from Israel, the resident foreigners who came from the land of Israel, and the residents of Judah.
  • 2 Chronicles 30:26 - There was a great celebration in Jerusalem, unlike anything that had occurred in Jerusalem since the time of King Solomon son of David of Israel.
  • 2 Chronicles 30:27 - The priests and Levites got up and pronounced blessings on the people. The Lord responded favorably to them as their prayers reached his holy dwelling place in heaven.
  • Luke 19:37 - As he approached the road leading down from the Mount of Olives, the whole crowd of his disciples began to rejoice and praise God with a loud voice for all the mighty works they had seen:
  • Luke 19:38 - “Blessed is the king who comes in the name of the Lord! Peace in heaven and glory in the highest!”
  • 1 Kings 19:3 - Elijah was afraid, so he got up and fled for his life to Beer Sheba in Judah. He left his servant there,

  • 1 Chronicles 16:12 - Recall the miraculous deeds he performed, his mighty acts and the judgments he decreed,
  • 1 Chronicles 16:13 - O children of Israel, God’s servant, you descendants of Jacob, God’s chosen ones!
  • 1 Chronicles 16:14 - He is the Lord our God; he carries out judgment throughout the earth.
  • 1 Chronicles 16:15 - Remember continually his covenantal decree, the promise he made to a thousand generations –
  • 1 Chronicles 16:16 - the promise he made to Abraham, the promise he made by oath to Isaac!
  • 1 Chronicles 16:17 - He gave it to Jacob as a decree, to Israel as a lasting promise,
  • 1 Chronicles 16:18 - saying, “To you I will give the land of Canaan as the portion of your inheritance.”
  • 1 Chronicles 16:19 - When they were few in number, just a very few, and foreign residents within it,
  • 1 Chronicles 16:20 - they wandered from nation to nation, and from one kingdom to another.
  • 1 Chronicles 16:21 - He let no one oppress them, he disciplined kings for their sake,
  • 1 Chronicles 16:22 - saying, “Don’t touch my anointed ones! Don’t harm my prophets!”
  • 1 Chronicles 16:23 - Sing to the Lord, all the earth! Announce every day how he delivers!
  • 1 Chronicles 16:24 - Tell the nations about his splendor, tell all the nations about his miraculous deeds!
  • 1 Chronicles 16:25 - For the Lord is great and certainly worthy of praise, he is more awesome than all gods.
  • 1 Chronicles 16:26 - For all the gods of the nations are worthless, but the Lord made the heavens.
  • 1 Chronicles 16:27 - Majestic splendor emanates from him, he is the source of strength and joy.
  • 1 Chronicles 16:28 - Ascribe to the Lord, O families of the nations, ascribe to the Lord splendor and strength!
  • 1 Chronicles 16:29 - Ascribe to the Lord the splendor he deserves! Bring an offering and enter his presence! Worship the Lord in holy attire!
  • 1 Chronicles 16:30 - Tremble before him, all the earth! The world is established, it cannot be moved.
  • 1 Chronicles 16:31 - Let the heavens rejoice, and the earth be happy! Let the nations say, ‘The Lord reigns!’
  • 1 Chronicles 16:32 - Let the sea and everything in it shout! Let the fields and everything in them celebrate!
  • 1 Chronicles 16:33 - Then let the trees of the forest shout with joy before the Lord, for he comes to judge the earth!
  • 1 Chronicles 16:34 - Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good and his loyal love endures.
  • 1 Chronicles 16:35 - Say this prayer: “Deliver us, O God who delivers us! Gather us! Rescue us from the nations! Then we will give thanks to your holy name, and boast about your praiseworthy deeds.”
  • 1 Chronicles 16:36 - May the Lord God of Israel be praised, in the future and forevermore. Then all the people said, “We agree! Praise the Lord!”
  • 2 Chronicles 7:10 - On the twenty-third day of the seventh month, Solomon sent the people home. They left happy and contented because of the good the Lord had done for David, Solomon, and his people Israel.
  • 1 Samuel 24:11 - Look, my father, and see the edge of your robe in my hand! When I cut off the edge of your robe, I didn’t kill you. So realize and understand that I am not planning evil or rebellion. Even though I have not sinned against you, you are waiting in ambush to take my life.
  • 1 Kings 17:3 - “Leave here and travel eastward. Hide out in the Kerith Valley near the Jordan.
  • 1 Kings 17:4 - Drink from the stream; I have already told the ravens to bring you food there.”
  • 1 Kings 17:5 - So he did as the Lord told him; he went and lived in the Kerith Valley near the Jordan.
  • 1 Kings 17:6 - The ravens would bring him bread and meat each morning and evening, and he would drink from the stream.
  • 1 Kings 17:7 - After a while, the stream dried up because there had been no rain in the land.
  • 1 Kings 17:8 - The Lord told him,
  • 1 Kings 17:9 - “Get up, go to Zarephath in Sidonian territory, and live there. I have already told a widow who lives there to provide for you.”
  • 1 Kings 17:10 - So he got up and went to Zarephath. When he went through the city gate, there was a widow gathering wood. He called out to her, “Please give me a cup of water, so I can take a drink.”
  • 1 Kings 17:11 - As she went to get it, he called out to her, “Please bring me a piece of bread.”
  • 1 Kings 17:12 - She said, “As certainly as the Lord your God lives, I have no food, except for a handful of flour in a jar and a little olive oil in a jug. Right now I am gathering a couple of sticks for a fire. Then I’m going home to make one final meal for my son and myself. After we have eaten that, we will die of starvation.”
  • 1 Kings 17:13 - Elijah said to her, “Don’t be afraid. Go and do as you planned. But first make a small cake for me and bring it to me; then make something for yourself and your son.
  • 1 Kings 17:14 - For this is what the Lord God of Israel says, ‘The jar of flour will not be empty and the jug of oil will not run out until the day the Lord makes it rain on the surface of the ground.’”
  • 1 Kings 17:15 - She went and did as Elijah told her; there was always enough food for Elijah and for her and her family.
  • 1 Kings 17:16 - The jar of flour was never empty and the jug of oil never ran out, just as the Lord had promised through Elijah.
  • 1 Kings 17:17 - After this the son of the woman who owned the house got sick. His illness was so severe he could no longer breathe.
  • 1 Kings 17:18 - She asked Elijah, “Why, prophet, have you come to me to confront me with my sin and kill my son?”
  • 1 Kings 17:19 - He said to her, “Hand me your son.” He took him from her arms, carried him to the upper room where he was staying, and laid him down on his bed.
  • 1 Kings 17:20 - Then he called out to the Lord, “O Lord, my God, are you also bringing disaster on this widow I am staying with by killing her son?”
  • 1 Kings 17:21 - He stretched out over the boy three times and called out to the Lord, “O Lord, my God, please let this boy’s breath return to him.”
  • 1 Kings 17:22 - The Lord answered Elijah’s prayer; the boy’s breath returned to him and he lived.
  • 1 Kings 17:23 - Elijah took the boy, brought him down from the upper room to the house, and handed him to his mother. Elijah then said, “See, your son is alive!”
  • 1 Kings 17:24 - The woman said to Elijah, “Now I know that you are a prophet and that the Lord really does speak through you.”
  • Jeremiah 5:1 - The Lord said, “Go up and down through the streets of Jerusalem. Look around and see for yourselves. Search through its public squares. See if any of you can find a single person who deals honestly and tries to be truthful. If you can, then I will not punish this city.
  • Ecclesiastes 10:16 - Woe to you, O land, when your king is childish, and your princes feast in the morning!
  • 1 Chronicles 15:25 - So David, the leaders of Israel, and the commanders of units of a thousand went to bring up the ark of the Lord’s covenant from the house of Obed-Edom with celebration.
  • 1 Chronicles 15:26 - When God helped the Levites who were carrying the ark of the Lord’s covenant, they sacrificed seven bulls and seven rams.
  • 1 Chronicles 15:27 - David was wrapped in a linen robe, as were all the Levites carrying the ark, the musicians, and Kenaniah the supervisor of transport and the musicians; David also wore a linen ephod.
  • 1 Chronicles 15:28 - All Israel brought up the ark of the Lord’s covenant; they were shouting, blowing trumpets, sounding cymbals, and playing stringed instruments.
  • 1 Chronicles 29:20 - David told the entire assembly: “Praise the Lord your God!” So the entire assembly praised the Lord God of their ancestors; they bowed down and stretched out flat on the ground before the Lord and the king.
  • 1 Chronicles 29:21 - The next day they made sacrifices and offered burnt sacrifices to the Lord (1,000 bulls, 1,000 rams, 1,000 lambs), along with their accompanying drink offerings and many other sacrifices for all Israel.
  • 1 Chronicles 29:22 - They held a feast before the Lord that day and celebrated. Then they designated Solomon, David’s son, as king a second time; before the Lord they anointed him as ruler and Zadok as priest.
  • 1 Kings 18:13 - Certainly my master is aware of what I did when Jezebel was killing the Lord’s prophets. I hid one hundred of the Lord’s prophets in two caves in two groups of fifty and I brought them food and water.

  • Job 29:19 - My roots reach the water, and the dew lies on my branches all night long.
  • Job 29:20 - My glory will always be fresh in me, and my bow ever new in my hand.’
  • Jeremiah 36:26 - He also ordered Jerahmeel, who was one of the royal princes, Seraiah son of Azriel, and Shelemiah son of Abdeel to arrest the scribe Baruch and the prophet Jeremiah. However, the Lord hid them.
  • Proverbs 28:28 - When the wicked gain control, people hide themselves, but when they perish, the righteous increase.
  • Proverbs 11:10 - When the righteous do well, the city rejoices; when the wicked perish, there is joy.
  • Proverbs 29:2 - When the righteous become numerous, the people rejoice; when the wicked rule, the people groan.
