  • Leviticus 27:28 - ‘But nothing that a man sets apart [that is, devotes as an offering] to the Lord out of all that he has, of man or of animal or of the fields of his own property, shall be sold or redeemed. Anything devoted to destruction (banned, cursed) is most holy to the Lord.

  • Leviticus 27:14 - ‘If a man consecrates his house as sacred to the Lord, the priest shall appraise it as either good or bad; as the priest appraises it, so shall it stand.
  • Leviticus 27:15 - If the one who consecrates his house should wish to redeem it, then he shall add one-fifth of your valuation price to it, so that it may be his.
  • Leviticus 27:16 - ‘And if a man consecrates to the Lord part of a field of his own property, then your valuation shall be proportionate to the seed needed for it; a homer of barley seed shall be valued at fifty shekels of silver.
  • Leviticus 27:17 - If he consecrates his field during the Year of Jubilee, it shall stand according to your valuation.
  • Leviticus 27:18 - But if he consecrates his field after the Jubilee, then the priest shall calculate the price for him in proportion to the years that remain until the Year of Jubilee; and it shall be deducted from your valuation.
  • Leviticus 27:19 - If the one who consecrates the field should ever wish to redeem it, then he shall add one-fifth of the appraisal price to it, so that it may return to him.
  • Leviticus 27:20 - If he does not redeem the field, but has sold it to another man, it may no longer be redeemed.
  • Leviticus 27:21 - When the field reverts in the Jubilee, the field shall be holy to the Lord, like a field set apart (devoted); the priest shall possess it as his property.
  • Leviticus 27:22 - Or if a man consecrates to the Lord a field which he has bought, which is not part of the field of his [ancestral] property,
  • Leviticus 27:23 - then the priest shall calculate for him the amount of your valuation up to the Year of Jubilee; and the man shall give that [amount] on that day as a holy thing to the Lord.
  • Leviticus 27:24 - In the Year of Jubilee the field shall return to the one from whom it was purchased, to whom the land belonged [as his ancestral inheritance].
  • Leviticus 27:25 - Every valuation of yours shall be in accordance with the sanctuary shekel; twenty gerahs shall make a shekel.
  • Leviticus 27:26 - ‘However, the firstborn among animals, which as a firstborn belongs to the Lord, no man may consecrate, whether an ox or a sheep. It is [already] the Lord’s.
  • Leviticus 27:27 - If it is among the unclean animals, the owner may redeem it in accordance with your valuation, and add one-fifth to it; or if it is not redeemed, then it shall be sold in accordance with your valuation.
  • Leviticus 27:28 - ‘But nothing that a man sets apart [that is, devotes as an offering] to the Lord out of all that he has, of man or of animal or of the fields of his own property, shall be sold or redeemed. Anything devoted to destruction (banned, cursed) is most holy to the Lord.
  • Leviticus 27:29 - No one who may have been set apart among men shall be ransomed [from death], he shall most certainly be put to death.
  • Leviticus 27:30 - ‘And all the tithe (tenth part) of the land, whether the seed of the land or the fruit of the tree, is the Lord’s; it is holy to the Lord.
  • Leviticus 27:31 - If a man wishes to redeem any part of his tithe, he shall add one-fifth to it.
  • Leviticus 27:32 - For every tithe of the herd or flock, whatever passes under the [shepherd’s] staff, the tenth one shall be holy to the Lord.
  • Leviticus 27:33 - The man is not to be concerned whether the animal is good or bad, nor shall he exchange it. But if he does exchange it, then both it and its substitute shall become holy; it shall not be redeemed.’ ”
  • Leviticus 27:34 - These are the commandments which the Lord commanded Moses on Mount Sinai for the children of Israel.
  • Psalms 147:1 - Praise the Lord! For it is good to sing praises to our [gracious and majestic] God; Praise is becoming and appropriate.
  • Ecclesiastes 5:4 - When you make a vow or a pledge to God, do not put off paying it; for God takes no pleasure in fools [who thoughtlessly mock Him]. Pay what you vow.
  • Ecclesiastes 5:5 - It is better that you should not vow than that you should vow and not pay.
  • Psalms 22:25 - My praise will be of You in the great assembly. I will pay my vows [made in the time of trouble] before those who [reverently] fear Him.

  • Psalms 65:1 - To You belongs silence [the submissive wonder of reverence], and [it bursts into] praise in Zion, O God; And to You the vow shall be performed.
  • Psalms 27:6 - And now my head will be lifted up above my enemies around me, In His tent I will offer sacrifices with shouts of joy; I will sing, yes, I will sing praises to the Lord.
  • Psalms 50:23 - He who offers a sacrifice of praise and thanksgiving honors Me; And to him who orders his way rightly [who follows the way that I show him], I shall show the salvation of God.”
  • Numbers 30:2 - If a man makes a vow to the Lord or swears an oath to bind himself with a pledge [of abstinence], he shall not break (violate, profane) his word; he shall do according to all that proceeds out of his mouth.
  • Numbers 30:3 - “Also if a woman makes a vow to the Lord and binds herself by a pledge [of abstinence], while living in her father’s house in her youth,
  • Numbers 30:4 - and her father hears her vow and her pledge by which she has bound herself, and he offers no objection, then all her vows shall stand and every pledge by which she has bound herself shall stand.
  • Numbers 30:5 - But if her father disapproves of her [making her vow] on the day that he hears about it, none of her vows or her pledges by which she has bound herself shall stand; and the Lord will forgive her because her father has disapproved of her [making the vow].
  • Numbers 30:6 - “But if she marries while under her vows or if she has bound herself by a rash statement,
  • Numbers 30:7 - and her husband hears of it and says nothing about it on the day he hears it, then her vows shall stand and her pledge by which she bound herself shall stand.
  • Numbers 30:8 - But if her husband disapproves of her [making her vow or pledge] on the day that he hears of it, then he shall annul her vow which she is under and the rash statement of her lips by which she bound herself; and the Lord will forgive her.
  • Numbers 30:9 - “But the vow of a widow or of a divorced woman, everything by which she has bound herself, shall stand against her.
  • Numbers 30:10 - However, if she vowed in her husband’s house or bound herself by a pledge with an oath,
  • Numbers 30:11 - and her husband heard it, but said nothing to her and did not disapprove of her [making the vow], then all her vows and every pledge by which she bound herself shall stand.
  • Numbers 30:12 - But if her husband absolutely annuls them on the day he heard them, then whatever proceeds from her lips concerning her vows or concerning her pledge shall not stand. Her husband has annulled them, and the Lord will forgive her.
  • Numbers 30:13 - “Every vow and every binding oath to humble herself, her husband may confirm it or her husband may annul it.
  • Numbers 30:14 - But if her husband says nothing to her [concerning the matter] from day to day, then he confirms all her vows or all her pledges which are on her. He has confirmed them because he said nothing to her on the day he heard them.
  • Numbers 30:15 - But if he indeed nullifies them after he hears of them, then he shall be responsible for and bear her guilt [for breaking her promise].”
  • Numbers 30:16 - These are the statutes which the Lord commanded Moses, between a man and his wife, and between a father and his daughter while she is a youth in her father’s house.
  • Psalms 69:30 - I will praise the name of God with song And magnify Him with thanksgiving.
  • Psalms 69:31 - And it will please the Lord better than an ox Or a young bull with horns and hoofs.

  • Romans 12:1 - Therefore I urge you, brothers and sisters, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies [dedicating all of yourselves, set apart] as a living sacrifice, holy and well-pleasing to God, which is your rational (logical, intelligent) act of worship.
  • Nahum 1:15 - Behold, on the mountains the feet of him who brings good news [telling of Assyria’s destruction], Who announces peace and prosperity! Celebrate your feasts, O Judah; Perform your vows. For the wicked one [the king of Assyria] will never again pass through you; He is completely cut off.
  • 1 Peter 2:5 - You [believers], like living stones, are being built up into a spiritual house for a holy and dedicated priesthood, to offer spiritual sacrifices [that are] acceptable and pleasing to God through Jesus Christ.
  • Psalms 116:12 - What will I give to the Lord [in return] For all His benefits toward me? [How can I repay Him for His precious blessings?]
  • Psalms 116:13 - I will lift up the cup of salvation And call on the name of the Lord.

  • Psalms 76:11 - Make vows to the Lord your God and fulfill them; Let all who are around Him bring gifts to Him who is to be feared [with awe-inspired reverence].
  • Psalms 107:21 - Let them give thanks to the Lord for His lovingkindness, And for His wonderful acts to the children of men!
  • Psalms 107:22 - And let them offer the sacrifices of thanksgiving, And speak of His deeds with shouts of joy!
  • Deuteronomy 23:21 - “When you make a vow to the Lord your God, you shall not delay to pay it, for He will most certainly require it of you, and a delay would cause you to sin.
  • Hosea 14:2 - Take the words [confessing your guilt] with you and return to the Lord. Say to Him, “Take away all our wickedness; Accept what is good and receive us graciously, So that we may present the fruit of our lips (gratitude).
  • Psalms 56:12 - Your vows are binding upon me, O God; I will give thank offerings to You.
  • Hebrews 13:15 - Through Him, therefore, let us at all times offer up to God a sacrifice of praise, which is the fruit of lips that thankfully acknowledge and confess and glorify His name.
