他們付給石匠和木匠銀子，並經波斯王塞魯士批准，供給泰爾人和西頓人食物、酒和油，換取他們把香柏木從黎巴嫩經海路運到約帕。

建殿的石頭都在採石場鑿好了，建殿的時候聽不到錘子、斧頭或其他鐵器的響聲。

從此，你們不再是外人或過客，你們與眾聖徒一樣是天國的子民，是上帝家裡的人了。你們已被建立在眾使徒和先知們的基礎上，基督耶穌自己是房角石。整座建築的各部分都靠祂巧妙地連接在一起，逐漸成為主的聖殿。你們也靠著祂被建造在一起，成為上帝藉著聖靈居住的地方。

異鄉人要為你們牧放羊群，外族人要為你們耕種田地、照料葡萄園。你們要被稱為耶和華的祭司，我們上帝的臣僕。你們必享用各國的財寶，誇耀自己擁有他們的財富。

這些宮殿，從根基到牆頂，從外院到內殿用的都是上等的石頭，按規格裡外用鋸切割整齊。根基用的是非常珍貴的石頭，它們的體積巨大，有些甚至是長達三米半至四米半的巨石，上面是按照規格鑿好的上等石頭以及香柏木。大院周圍的牆由三層鑿好的石頭和一層香柏木建成，正如耶和華殿的內院和殿廊的牆。
