Asa then took all the silver and gold that was left in the treasuries of the Lord’s temple and of his own palace. He entrusted it to his officials and sent them to Ben-Hadad son of Tabrimmon, the son of Hezion, the king of Aram, who was ruling in Damascus.

Asa took all the silver and gold left among the treasures of the Lord’ s temple and his own palace. He put his officials in charge of it. He sent the officials to Ben- Hadad. Ben- Hadad was king of Aram. He was ruling in Damascus. He was the son of Tabrimmon and the grandson of Hezion.

Then Asa took all the silver and the gold that were left in the treasures of the house of the Lord and the treasures of the king’s house and gave them into the hands of his servants. And King Asa sent them to Ben-hadad the son of Tabrimmon, the son of Hezion, king of Syria, who lived in Damascus, saying,

Asa responded by removing all the silver and gold that was left in the treasuries of the Temple of the Lord and the royal palace. He sent it with some of his officials to Ben hadad son of Tabrimmon, son of Hezion, the king of Aram, who was ruling in Damascus, along with this message:

So Asa withdrew all the silver and gold that remained in the treasuries of the LORD’s temple and the treasuries of the royal palace and gave it to his servants. Then King Asa sent them to Ben-hadad son of Tabrimmon son of Hezion king of Aram who lived in Damascus, saying,

So Asa withdrew all the silver and gold that remained in the treasuries of the Lord’s temple and the treasuries of the royal palace and put it into the hands of his servants. Then King Asa sent them to Ben-hadad son of Tabrimmon son of Hezion king of Aram who lived in Damascus, saying,

Then Asa took all the silver and the gold that was left in the treasures of Yahweh’s house, and the treasures of the king’s house, and delivered it into the hand of his servants. Then King Asa sent them to Ben Hadad, the son of Tabrimmon, the son of Hezion, king of Syria, who lived at Damascus, saying,

他奪去了耶和華的寶物和王宮的寶物，並且把所有的東西都奪去了；又把所羅門所做的一切金盾牌都奪了去。

猶大王約阿施於是拿出所有的聖物，就是他的祖先猶大王約沙法、約蘭和亞哈謝所獻的聖物，以及他自己所獻的聖物，還有耶和華殿和王宮寶庫裡所有的金子，送給亞蘭王哈薛，哈薛就離開耶路撒冷去了。

神又興起一個人敵擋所羅門，就是以利亞大的兒子利遜。他是從他主人瑣巴王哈大底謝那裡逃出來的。大衛擊殺瑣巴人的時候，利遜招聚了一些人，自己作了這些土匪的領袖。他前往大馬士革，住在那裡，又在大馬士革作王。

亞撒把他父親所分別為聖和他自己所分別為聖的金銀和器皿，都帶到耶和華的殿裡。

亞伯蘭和他的僕人趁夜分隊攻擊他們，結果擊敗了他們，又追趕他們直到大馬士革北面的何把，

亞蘭王便．哈達聚集他的全軍，有三十二個王與他在一起，他帶著戰馬和戰車，上去圍困撒瑪利亞，攻打那城。他派遣一些使者進城去見以色列王亞哈，對他說：“便．哈達這樣說：‘你的銀子，你的金子都是我的；你的妻子和你最健壯的兒女也是我的。’”以色列王回答說：“我主我王啊，就照著你所說的，我和我所有的一切都可以歸你。”那些使者再來說：“便．哈達這樣說：‘我曾經差派人對你說：你要把你的銀子，你的金子，你的妻子和你的兒女都給我。

那些人認為這些話是個吉兆，急忙抓住他的話，說：“便．哈達是王的兄弟！”亞哈說：“你們去請他來。”便．哈達出來見王，亞哈就去請他上車。便．哈達對王說：“我父親從你父親奪得的眾城，我都必還給你；你可以為自己在大馬士革設立市場，像我父親在撒瑪利亞設立市場一樣。”亞哈說：“我與你立了這樣的約，就放你去。”於是他和便．哈達立了約，就放他走了。

我必降火在哈薛的王宮，燒毀便．哈達的堡壘。

於是亞撒從耶和華的殿和王宮的庫房裡取出金銀來，送給住在大馬士革的亞蘭王便．哈達，說：“你父親和我父親曾經立約，你和我也要立約。現在我把金銀送給你，請你去廢除你和以色列王巴沙訂立的約，好使他離開我而去。”便．哈達聽從了亞撒王的話，就派遣他屬下的眾軍長去攻擊以色列的城市，他們攻陷了以雲、但、亞伯．瑪音和拿弗他利一切貯藏貨物的城市。巴沙聽見了，就停止修築拉瑪，把工程都停止了。於是亞撒王帶領猶大眾人，把巴沙修築拉瑪所用的石頭和木材都搬走，用來修築迦巴和米斯巴。

“我要焚燒大馬士革的城牆，燒毀便．哈達的堡壘。”

以利沙來到大馬士革。亞蘭王便．哈達患了病。有人告訴他說：“神人來到這裡了。”王對哈薛說：“你帶著禮物，去見神人，託他求問耶和華說：‘我這病能痊愈嗎？’”於是哈薛去見以利沙。他帶著禮物，就是大馬士革各樣的美物，由四十匹駱駝馱著，去站在他的面前，說：“你的兒子亞蘭王便．哈達派我到你這裡來，問你說：‘我這病能痊愈嗎？’”以利沙對他說：“你去告訴他說：‘你一定會痊愈的’，但耶和華指示我，他一定要死。”以利沙定睛看著他，直到他感到侷促不安；然後，神人哭了起來。哈薛說：“我主為甚麼哭起來了？”他回答：“因為我已知道你要對以色列人施行的惡事。他們的城堡，你要放火焚燒；他們的年輕人，你要用刀殺死；他們的嬰孩，你要摔死；他們的孕婦，你要剖開。”哈薛說：“你僕人算甚麼？不過是一條狗罷了；怎可以作這樣的大事呢？”以利沙說：“耶和華已指示我，你要作王統治亞蘭。”於是他離開以利沙，回到他主人那裡。便．哈達對他說：“以利沙對你說了些甚麼呢？”他說：“他對我說：‘你一定痊愈的。’”第二天，哈薛拿被窩浸在水裡，然後蒙住便．哈達的面，他就死了；於是哈薛接續他作王。

亞伯蘭說：“主耶和華啊，我一向都沒有孩子，你還能賜給我甚麼呢？這樣，承受我家業的，就是大馬士革人以利以謝了。”

希西家就把耶和華殿和王宮寶庫內找到的所有金子都給了他。那時，猶大王希西家把耶和華殿門上和自己包在門柱上的金子，都刮了下來，給了亞述王。

亞撒把他父親所分別為聖，和他自己所分別為聖的金銀和器皿，都送進神的殿裡。
