He looked, and behold, there was at his head a cake baked on the coals, and a jar of water. He ate and drank, and lay down again.

He looked around, and there by his head was some bread baked over hot coals, and a jar of water. He ate and drank and then lay down again.

Elijah looked around. Near his head he saw some bread. It had been baked over hot coals. A jar of water was also there. So Elijah ate and drank. Then he lay down again.

And he looked, and behold, there was at his head a cake baked on hot stones and a jar of water. And he ate and drank and lay down again.

Then the devil left him, and behold, angels came and served him.

He called to her, and said,“ Please get me a little water in a jar, that I may drink.”As she was going to get it, he called to her, and said,“ Please bring me a morsel of bread in your hand.”She said,“ As Yahweh your God lives, I don’t have a cake, but a handful of meal in a jar, and a little oil in a jar. Behold, I am gathering two sticks, that I may go in and bake it for me and my son, that we may eat it, and die.”Elijah said to her,“ Don’t be afraid. Go and do as you have said; but make me a little cake from it first, and bring it out to me, and afterward make some for you and for your son.For Yahweh, the God of Israel says,‘ The jar of meal will not run out, and the jar of oil will not fail, until the day that Yahweh sends rain on the earth.’”She went and did according to the saying of Elijah; and she, and he, and her house, ate many days.

“ I have compassion on the multitude, because they have stayed with me now three days, and have nothing to eat.If I send them away fasting to their home, they will faint on the way, for some of them have come a long way.”

Trust in Yahweh, and do good. Dwell in the land, and enjoy safe pasture.

So when they got out on the land, they saw a fire of coals there, with fish and bread laid on it.

Jesus therefore said to them,“ Children, have you anything to eat?” They answered him,“ No.”

For the Gentiles seek after all these things; for your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things.

he will dwell on high. His place of defense will be the fortress of rocks. His bread will be supplied. His waters will be sure.
