我们不是再次向你们推荐自己，而是给你们一个夸耀我们的机会，好让你们可以应对那些只凭外貌、不凭内心夸耀的人，

We are not trying to commend ourselves to you again, but are giving you an opportunity to take pride in us, so that you can answer those who take pride in what is seen rather than in what is in the heart.

We are not trying to make an appeal to you again. But we are giving you a chance to take pride in us. Some people take pride in their looks rather than what’s in their hearts. If you take pride in us, you will be able to answer them.

We are not commending ourselves to you again but giving you cause to boast about us, so that you may be able to answer those who boast about outward appearance and not about what is in the heart.

Are we commending ourselves to you again? No, we are giving you a reason to be proud of us, so you can answer those who brag about having a spectacular ministry rather than having a sincere heart.

我们又开始推荐自己吗？难道我们像有些人那样，需要给你们推荐信，或向你们要推荐信吗？

就像你们对我们已经有一些了解那样，因为在我们主耶稣的日子，我们是你们的夸耀，正如你们是我们的夸耀。

我现在所做的，将来还要做，为要断绝那些人的机会——他们想找一个机会，好让别人以为他们所夸耀的与我们一样，因为这样的人是假使徒，是诡诈的工人，他们装做基督的使徒。这并不足为奇，原来撒旦自己也装做光明的天使；所以，即使他的仆人把自己装做义的仆人，也不足为怪；他们的结局必然照着他们的行为。我再说：谁都不要以为我是愚妄的人！否则，至少该接受我这个像是愚妄的人，好让我也可以稍微自夸。

那些想在肉体上体面的，他们才强求你们受割礼，他们只是要避免为基督的十字架受逼迫。事实上，那些受割礼的人自己也不遵守律法。他们要你们受割礼，是为了以你们的肉体夸耀。至于我，除了我们主耶稣基督的十字架以外，我绝不以别的夸耀。因这十字架，对我来说，世界已经被钉十字架了；对世界来说，我也已经被钉十字架了。

夸耀虽然没有益处，但是必须的；我要说到主的异象和启示：我知道一个在基督里的人，他十四年前被提到第三层天上。他是否在身体里，我不知道；是否在身体外，我也不知道；只有神知道。不过我知道这样一个人——他是否在身体里，还是在身体外，我都不知道，只有神知道——他被提到乐园里去，听见了无法描述的话语，是人不可以说出来的。为这样一个人，我要夸耀，但为我自己，除了有关那些软弱的事以外，我不夸耀。其实就算我愿意夸耀，也不算是愚妄的人，因为我会讲真理。可是我要克制，免得有人把我看高了，过于他在我身上所看到的，或是从我所听到的。并且为了不让我因这些极大的启示而高抬自己，有一根刺加在我的肉体上，就是撒旦的使者来击打我，免得我高抬自己。为了这事，我三次求主使这根刺离开我。但他对我说：“我的恩典是够你用的，因为我的大能在软弱中得以完全。”因此，我反而极其乐意地夸耀我的那些软弱，好让基督的能力遮盖在我身上。

主所赐给我们的权柄是为了造就你们，不是为了拆毁你们。其实，就算我为这权柄有些过度的夸耀，我也不至于蒙羞。

反而在一切事上都证明自己是神的仆人：在极大的忍耐中，在各种患难、艰难、困苦中，

其实我们不敢把自己与某些自我推荐的人同列或比较。当他们以自己来衡量自己，以自己来比较自己的时候，他们是不领悟的。

让别人称赞你，而不是用自己的口；让外人称赞你，而不是用自己的嘴。

我成了愚妄的人，是你们逼我的。其实我应该受到你们的推荐，因为即使我一无所是，我也没有一点赶不上那些“超级使徒”。

因为那经过考验的人，不是自我推荐的，而是主所推荐的。
