The king of Assyria complied by attacking Damascus and capturing it. He deported its inhabitants to Kir and put Rezin to death.

So the king of Assyria did what Ahaz asked him to do. He attacked the city of Damascus and captured it. He sent its people away to Kir. And he put Rezin to death.

And the king of Assyria listened to him. The king of Assyria marched up against Damascus and took it, carrying its people captive to Kir, and he killed Rezin.

So the king of Assyria attacked the Aramean capital of Damascus and led its population away as captives, resettling them in Kir. He also killed King Rezin.

以拦拿着箭袋，并有战车、步兵和骑兵；吉珥亮出盾牌。

“耶和华这样说：‘大马士革三番四次犯罪，我必不收回惩罚他的命令（“我必不收回惩罚他的命令”直译作“我必不扭转它”）；因为他用打谷的铁器蹂躏基列。我必降火在哈薛的王宫，烧毁便．哈达的堡垒。我必折断大马士革的门闩，剪除亚文平原的居民，以及伯．伊甸掌权的首领；亚兰的人民也必被掳至吉珥。’这是耶和华说的。

因此，耶和华必兴起利汛的敌人来攻击以色列，并且要激动以色列的仇敌。

亚哈斯取了耶和华殿里和王宫中，以及众领袖家里的财宝，给了亚述王，但也无济于事。

因为在这孩子晓得弃恶择善之先，你所畏惧的那两个王之地，早就被弃绝了。

因此，耶和华他的神把他交在亚兰王手里；亚兰王击败了他，掳走了他很多人民，带到大马士革去。神又把他交在以色列王手里，以色列王就在犹大进行大屠杀。
