王后耶洗別至、問曰、憂心不食曷故。曰、我告耶斯烈人拿泊云、爾之葡萄園、或予以金、或易以他園、任爾所擇。彼曰不以我園予爾。耶洗別、曰爾非統轄以色列國者乎、可歡然飲食、我將以耶斯烈人拿泊之園予爾。遂藉亞哈名作書、鈐以王印、致於拿泊所居、邑中之長老世職、曰、當使民禁食、在民間舉拿泊於高坐、令匪類二人作證、曰、爾詛上帝與王。遂曳之出、擊之以石、而斃其命。邑人與長老世職、遵耶洗別書所言而行、使民禁食、在民間舉拿泊於高坐。其時匪類二人進、而坐於前、以作證、訟拿泊曰、拿泊詛上帝與王。乃解之至邑外、石擊斃命。遣人告耶洗別曰、拿泊石擊而死。耶洗別聞言、則告亞哈曰、耶斯烈人拿泊之葡萄園、初不欲以金鬻爾者、今可得焉。蓋拿泊已死。

亞哈曰、爾為我敵、今乃與我相遇乎。曰、我遇爾者、因爾在耶和華前、惟惡是務。

遂入宮中、式飲式食、既畢、則謂左右曰、是婦雖服咒詛、然為王女、當往觀而瘞其尸。

緣其行惡於耶和華前、從耶羅破暗所為、使以色列族陷罪故也。

從父所為、於耶和華前所行不善、

何不聽耶和華命、乃作惡於其前、見敵所有、而行劫奪。

王曰、今日必斬沙法子以利沙首、不然願上帝降罰於我。以利沙坐於室、長老偕在、其時王遣使者未至、以利沙謂長老曰、爾觀此戕民者之子、遣人取我首級。使者既至、汝當閉門而執之、其主必繼至。

約藍見耶戶、則曰耶戶、爾為平康而至乎。曰、王母耶洗別、狥私欲、拜偶像、從巫覡、若是之多、焉得平康乎。

焚獻其子、用卜筮、術數、憑卜神、問巫覡、於耶和華前多行不義、干厥震怒。
