大马士革的河亚罢拿和法珥法岂不比以色列的一切水更好吗？我在那里沐浴不得洁净吗？”于是气忿忿地转身去了。

大馬色之河、亞罷拿與法珥法、較以色列諸水、豈不尤佳乎、我不可浴於彼、而得潔乎、遂忿然反身而去、

大馬色之河、亞巴拿與法法、較之以色列地之水、豈非尤善、濯身於彼、豈不能成潔乎。遂怒欲歸。

乃縵說：「如果你不肯接受禮物，請你容許僕人用兩頭騾子馱些泥土回去。從此以後，我不再獻燔祭或平安祭給其他神明，只獻給耶和華。

智者不輕易發怒，饒恕是他的榮耀。

到那天，必有活水從耶路撒冷湧出，一半流向死海，一半流向地中海，冬夏不變。

以利亞脫下外衣捲起來，用它擊打河水，水立即左右分開，二人腳踏乾地而過。
