I approached one of those standing there and asked him the meaning of all this.“ So he told me and gave me the interpretation of these things:

長老中有一位回應我說：「這些穿白衣的是誰？是從哪裏來的？」我對他說：「我主啊，你是知道的。」他向我說：「這些人是從大患難中出來的，他們曾用羔羊的血把衣裳洗得潔白。

有火如河湧出，從他面前流出來；事奉他的有千千，在他面前侍立的有萬萬；他坐着要行審判，案卷都展開了。

長老中有一位對我說：「不要哭。看哪，猶大支派中的獅子，大衛的根，他已得勝，能展開那書卷，揭開那七個印。」

看哪，與我說話的天使出去，另有一位天使迎着他來，

他指教我說：「但以理啊，現在我來要使你有智慧，有聰明。

他對我說：「蒙愛的但以理啊，要思想我對你所說的話，只管站起來，因為我現在奉差遣來到你這裏。」他對我說這話，我就戰戰兢兢地站起來。他說：「但以理啊，不要懼怕！因為自從第一日你立志要明白，又在你神面前刻苦自己，你的話已蒙應允；我就是因你的話而來。

「我夜間觀看，看哪，有一人騎着紅馬，站在窪地的番石榴樹中間。在他身後有紅色、褐色和白色的馬。」我說：「主啊，這是甚麼意思？」與我說話的天使說：「我要指示你這是甚麼意思。」那站在番石榴樹中間的人回答說：「這是奉耶和華差遣，在遍地巡邏的。」他們對站在番石榴樹中間耶和華的使者說：「我們在遍地巡邏，看哪，全地都安息平靜。」

我聽見有一位聖者說話，又有一位聖者向那說話的聖者說：「這經常獻的祭、帶來荒涼的罪過、聖所與軍隊被踐踏的異象，要持續到幾時呢？」他對我說：「要到二千三百日，聖所就必潔淨。」我－但以理見了這異象，想要明白其中的意思。看哪，有一位形狀像人的站在我面前。我聽見烏萊河中有人聲呼叫說：「加百列啊，要使這人明白這異象。」

舉目觀看，看哪，有一人身穿細麻衣，腰束烏法的純金腰帶。他的身體如水蒼玉，面貌如閃電，眼目如火把，手臂和腳如明亮的銅，說話的聲音像眾人的聲音。

我－但以理觀看，看哪，另有兩個人站立：一個在河這邊，一個在河那邊。其中一個對那在河水之上、穿細麻衣的說：「這奇異的事要到幾時才應驗呢？」

萬軍之耶和華如此說：「你若遵行我的道，謹守我的命令，就可以管理我的家，看守我的院宇；我也要使你在這些侍立的人中間來往。
