憤怒為殘忍，怒氣像狂瀾，惟有嫉妒，誰能擋得住呢？

你們躺臥在羊圈，好像鴿子的翅膀鍍銀，翎毛鍍金一般。

所以你要對以色列人說：『我是耶和華；我要除去埃及人加給你們的勞役，救你們脫離他們的奴役。我要用伸出來的膀臂，藉嚴厲的懲罰救贖你們。我要以你們為我的百姓，我也要作你們的神。我除去埃及人加給你們的勞役，你們就知道我是耶和華你們的神。

以色列人的工頭來哀求法老說：「為甚麼這樣待你的僕人呢？

他們從這邦遊到那邦，從這國去到另一民族。

我們的祖先曾下到埃及，我們也在埃及住了很多年。然而，埃及人卻惡待我們和我們的祖先。

埃及王對他們說：「摩西、亞倫！你們為甚麼叫百姓不做工呢？去，服你們的勞役吧！」他又說：「看哪，這地的以色列人如今這麼多，你們竟然叫他們歇下勞役！」當天，法老吩咐監工和工頭說：

所羅門建造一切的儲貨城、戰車城、戰馬城，以及他所想要建造的，在耶路撒冷、黎巴嫩和自己治理全國中的一切建設。
