“ Consecrate to me every firstborn male. The first offspring of every womb among the Israelites belongs to me, whether human or animal.”

“ Set apart for me the first boy born in every family. The oldest son of every Israelite mother belongs to me. Every male animal born first to its mother also belongs to me.”

正如主的律法所記：“所有頭生的男孩，都當稱為聖歸給主。”

有血肉生命頭生的，無論是人或是牲畜，就是他們獻給耶和華的，都必歸給你；只是人類頭生的，你總要贖出來；不潔淨牲畜頭生的，也要贖出來。

因為所有頭生的，都是我的；我在埃及地擊殺所有頭生的那天，就把以色列中所有頭生的，無論人畜，都分別為聖歸我；他們要歸我，我是耶和華。”

“唯獨牲畜的頭一胎，無論是牛或是羊，既然頭一胎是屬於耶和華的，人就不能再把牠分別為聖，因為這本是耶和華的。

要把你豐收的五穀和初榨的新酒獻上，不可遲延；要把你頭生的兒子獻給我。對於牛羊頭生的，你也要這樣作；七天之內，可以和母的在一起，第八天就要把牠獻給我。

有名字登記在天上眾長子的教會，有審判眾人的神，有被成全的義人的靈魂，

要把你地上最上好的初熟之物帶到耶和華你神的殿中。不可用山羊羔母的奶去煮山羊羔。

因為他們是以色列人中完全獻給我的；我選出了他們歸我，是代替以色列人中所有頭生的。因為以色列人中所有頭生的，連人帶畜都是我的；我在埃及地擊殺所有頭生的那一天，就把他們分別為聖歸我了。

你要對法老說：‘耶和華這樣說：以色列是我的長子。

你要把所有頭生的奉獻給耶和華，也要把你一切牲畜中所有頭生的小牲口奉獻給耶和華；公的都屬耶和華。凡是頭生的驢，你要用羊羔代贖；如果你不代贖，就要打斷牠的頸項；凡是你兒子中頭生的人，你都要代贖。日後你的兒子若是問你們：‘這是甚麼意思？’你就要回答他：‘耶和華曾經用大能的手把我們從埃及為奴之家領出來。那時法老心裡剛硬，不讓我們離開，耶和華就把埃及地所有頭生的，無論是人或是牲畜都殺了；所以，我把所有頭生的公牲口都獻給耶和華為祭；但我所有頭生的兒子，卻都要代贖回來。

凡是頭胎的都是我的；你的牲畜中，無論是牛或羊，凡是公的和頭生的，都是我的。頭生的驢，你要用羊代贖，如果不代贖，就要打斷牠的頸項。你所有頭胎的兒子，你都要代贖出來。沒有人可以空手見我。
