Then Pharaoh summoned Moses and Aaron and begged,“ Plead with the Lord to take the frogs away from me and my people. I will let your people go, so they can offer sacrifices to the Lord.”

Pharaoh summoned Moses and Aaron and said,“ Pray to the Lord to take the frogs away from me and my people, and I will let your people go to offer sacrifices to the Lord.”

Pharaoh sent for Moses and Aaron. He said to them,“ Pray to the Lord to take the frogs away from me and my people. Then I’ll let your people go to offer sacrifices to the Lord.”

Then Pharaoh called Moses and Aaron and said,“ Plead with the Lord to take away the frogs from me and from my people, and I will let the people go to sacrifice to the Lord.”

Pharaoh summoned Moses and Aaron and said,“ Appeal to the LORD to remove the frogs from me and my people. Then I will let the people go and they can sacrifice to the LORD.”

Then Pharaoh called for Moses and Aaron and said,“ Plead with the Lord to remove the frogs from me and from my people; and I will let the people go, so that they may sacrifice to the Lord.”

Then Pharaoh called for Moses and Aaron, and said,“ Entreat the Lord that He may take away the frogs from me and from my people; and I will let the people go, that they may sacrifice to the Lord.”

Then Pharaoh called for Moses and Aaron, and said, Entreat Jehovah, that he take away the frogs from me, and from my people; and I will let the people go, that they may sacrifice unto Jehovah.

Pharaoh summoned Moses and Aaron and said,“ Ask Yahweh to remove the frogs from me and my people. Then I will let the people go and they can sacrifice to Yahweh.”

Then Pharaoh called for Moses and Aaron, and said, Intreat the LORD, that he may take away the frogs from me, and from my people; and I will let the people go, that they may do sacrifice unto the LORD.

Then Pharaoh summoned Moses and Aaron and said,“ Pray to the LORD that he may take the frogs away from me and my people, and I will release the people that they may sacrifice to the LORD.”

Then Pharaoh called for Moses and Aaron, and said,“ Entreat Yahweh, that he take away the frogs from me and from my people; and I will let the people go, that they may sacrifice to Yahweh.”

“ Forgive my sin, just this once, and plead with the Lord your God to take away this death from me.”

Pharaoh called for Moses and Aaron.“ All right! Go ahead and offer sacrifices to your God,” he said.“ But do it here in this land.”But Moses replied,“ That wouldn’t be right. The Egyptians detest the sacrifices that we offer to the Lord our God. Look, if we offer our sacrifices here where the Egyptians can see us, they will stone us.We must take a three day trip into the wilderness to offer sacrifices to the Lord our God, just as he has commanded us.”“ All right, go ahead,” Pharaoh replied.“ I will let you go into the wilderness to offer sacrifices to the Lord your God. But don’t go too far away. Now hurry and pray for me.”

Please beg the Lord to end this terrifying thunder and hail. We’ve had enough. I will let you go; you don’t need to stay any longer.”

Then the people came to Moses and cried out,“ We have sinned by speaking against the Lord and against you. Pray that the Lord will take away the snakes.” So Moses prayed for the people.

Pharaoh sent for Moses and Aaron during the night.“ Get out!” he ordered.“ Leave my people— and take the rest of the Israelites with you! Go and worship the Lord as you have requested.Take your flocks and herds, as you said, and be gone. Go, but bless me as you leave.”

The king cried out to the man of God,“ Please ask the Lord your God to restore my hand again!” So the man of God prayed to the Lord, and the king’s hand was restored and he could move it again.

So Moses and Aaron were brought back to Pharaoh.“ All right,” he told them,“ go and worship the Lord your God. But who exactly will be going with you?”Moses replied,“ We will all go— young and old, our sons and daughters, and our flocks and herds. We must all join together in celebrating a festival to the Lord.”Pharaoh retorted,“ The Lord will certainly need to be with you if I let you take your little ones! I can see through your evil plan.Never! Only the men may go and worship the Lord, since that is what you requested.” And Pharaoh threw them out of the palace.

“ Pray to the Lord for me,” Simon exclaimed,“ that these terrible things you’ve said won’t happen to me!”

Say to God,“ How awesome are your deeds! Your enemies cringe before your mighty power.

“ Is that so?” retorted Pharaoh.“ And who is the Lord? Why should I listen to him and let Israel go? I don’t know the Lord, and I will not let Israel go.”

When God began killing them, they finally sought him. They repented and took God seriously.Then they remembered that God was their rock, that God Most High was their redeemer.But all they gave him was lip service; they lied to him with their tongues.

“ Pray to the Lord your God for us, or we will die!” they all said to Samuel.“ For now we have added to our sins by asking for a king.”

This message came to Jeremiah from the Lord after King Zedekiah made a covenant with the people, proclaiming freedom for the slaves.He had ordered all the people to free their Hebrew slaves— both men and women. No one was to keep a fellow Judean in bondage.The officials and all the people had obeyed the king’s command,but later they changed their minds. They took back the men and women they had freed, forcing them to be slaves again.So the Lord gave them this message through Jeremiah:“ This is what the Lord, the God of Israel, says: I made a covenant with your ancestors long ago when I rescued them from their slavery in Egypt.I told them that every Hebrew slave must be freed after serving six years. But your ancestors paid no attention to me.Recently you repented and did what was right, following my command. You freed your slaves and made a solemn covenant with me in the Temple that bears my name.But now you have shrugged off your oath and defiled my name by taking back the men and women you had freed, forcing them to be slaves once again.

Finally, Pharaoh called for Moses.“ Go and worship the Lord,” he said.“ But leave your flocks and herds here. You may even take your little ones with you.”“ No,” Moses said,“ you must provide us with animals for sacrifices and burnt offerings to the Lord our God.All our livestock must go with us, too; not a hoof can be left behind. We must choose our sacrifices for the Lord our God from among these animals. And we won’t know how we are to worship the Lord until we get there.”But the Lord hardened Pharaoh’s heart once more, and he would not let them go.

When word reached the king of Egypt that the Israelites had fled, Pharaoh and his officials changed their minds.“ What have we done, letting all those Israelite slaves get away?” they asked.
