At that time Tattenai governor of Trans-Euphrates, Shethar-Bozenai, and their colleagues came to them and asked,“ Who gave you authority to rebuild this temple and to complete this structure?”

At the same time Tattenai, the governor beyond the River came to them, with Shetharbozenai, and their companions, and asked them,“ Who gave you a decree to build this house, and to finish this wall?”

爰命河西牧伯達乃、示達薄乃、及其同儔、亞八薩人、宜自謹恪、

於是河西牧伯達乃、示達薄乃、爰及同儕、遵大利烏王所命、弗敢濡滯。

我儕問長老曰、建斯室、築斯垣、伊誰所命。

以色列之上帝耶和華誠為上帝、凡爾遴選之民、可往猶大之耶路撒冷、建置殿宇、願上帝祐之。

選士祭司以士喇、習天上上帝之律例、我今降詔、命河西府庫諸司、凡其所欲、必供給毋怠。

耶穌入殿教誨、祭司諸長、民間長老、就之曰、爾以何權行是、誰賜爾此權耶、

有猶大人、自王畿至耶路撒冷、建置邑城。築基立垣、其城素為群醜淵藪、

河西牧伯達乃、示達薄乃、爰及同儕、亞八薩人、群奉表於大利烏王、曰、願大利烏王安。

立使徒於前、詰曰、爾以何權何名行此耶、

我又告王曰、請王以詔頒我、命河西諸伯途間資我、至猶大。亦請王降詔於虞人亞薩、使彼賜我材木、可建城門、築垣墉、與我所居之室、蒙上帝祐、王允所祈。王使武士長驍騎護我、我至河西、布王詔於諸伯。
