你們生活的風度不可貪愛銀錢；要以現有的為足；因為上帝親自說過：『我必定不放開你，必定不撇棄你』；

我在你們那裏有缺乏時，並沒有累着你們一個人；因為我的缺乏、從馬其頓來的弟兄都補足了。我向來凡事自守、不連累你們，將來也必自守。我指着在我裏面的基督之真誠來說！這誇口、在亞該亞地帶、是不會在我身上被堵住的。為甚麼呢？是因為我不愛你們麼？上帝知道。但我現在所作的、將來還要作，好截掉那些願得機會之人的機會，使他們在所誇口的事上能被人看出是企圖要跟我們平等。

你看，這是我準備好了、要第三次到你們那裏去的；我也不會連累你們。因為我求的並不是你們的財物，乃是你們自己；因為不是兒女為父母積蓄，而是父母為兒女。
