那使太阳白昼发光，派定月亮和星辰照耀黑夜，又搅动海洋，使海浪澎湃的，万军之耶和华是他的名，他这样说：

白昼是你的，黑夜也是你的，月亮和太阳，都是你设立的。地上的一切疆界都是你立定的，夏天和冬天都是你制定的。

因为冬天已过，雨水止息，已经过去了。地上百花齐放，百鸟齐鸣的时候已经来到；斑鸠的声音在我们境内也听见了。

所以，弟兄们，你们应当忍耐，直到主来。看哪，农夫等待着地里宝贵的出产，为它忍耐，直到获得秋霖春雨。

他们心里也不想想：‘我们应当敬畏耶和华我们的神，他按时赐雨，就是秋雨春霖，又为我们保存定时收割的节令。’

在怒气涨溢的时候，我暂时向你掩面，却要以永远的慈爱怜悯你；这是耶和华你的救赎主说的。这事对我就好像挪亚时代的洪水一般；我怎样起誓不再使挪亚时代的洪水漫过大地，我也照样起誓不向你发怒，也不斥责你。
