『因為這在我看就像挪亞的日子：我怎樣起誓、不再使挪亞的洪水漫過大地，我也怎樣起誓、不惱怒你，不叱責你。

永恆主聞了那怡神的香氣，就心裏說：『我必不再因人的緣故而咒詛土地，雖然人從年幼時心裏所計畫的就是壞事；我也不再照我所剛行的來擊滅眾生了。儘地所有的日子，播種收割、寒暑冬夏、白晝黑夜、就永不停息了。』

這一切既都要這樣消毁，你們就該做甚麼樣的人，該怎樣以聖別的品行和虔敬

凡有血肉、而在地上行動的，飛鳥、牲口、走獸、和在地上滋生的各樣昆蟲、以及所有的人、都溺死；凡在旱地上、鼻孔有氣息的生靈都死了；水把地上的眾生、從人類到獸類、到爬行動物、以及空中的飛鳥、都擦滅了；他們都從地上被擦滅。只有挪亞和那些同他在樓船裏的、得存活，

但現今的天和地呢、還是憑着那同一的話給火儲藏着保留着、等到審判的日子、不虔之人滅亡的日子。
