「耶和華啊，求你聽我的禱告，側耳聽我的呼求！我流淚，求你不要靜默無聲！因為在你面前我是客旅，是寄居的，像我列祖一般。

「我在你們中間是外人，是寄居的。請給我你們那裏的一塊墳地，我好埋葬我的亡妻，使她不在我的面前。」

這些人都是因信獲得了讚許，卻仍未得着所應許的，

雅各對法老說：「我在世寄居的年日是一百三十年，我一生的歲月又短又苦，比不上我祖先在世寄居的年日。」

這樣，你們不再是外人或客旅，是與聖徒同國，是神家裏的人了，

亞伯拉罕壽高年邁，安享天年，息勞而終，歸到他祖先那裏。

耶和華啊，我等候你的救恩。

論到這救恩，那預先說你們要得恩典的眾先知已經詳細地搜索查考過，查考在他們心裏的基督的靈預先證明基督受苦難，後來得榮耀，是指甚麼時候，甚麼樣的情況。他們得了啟示，知道他們所服事的不是自己，而是你們。那藉着從天上差來的聖靈傳福音給你們的人，現在將這些事傳給你們；這些事連天使也都切望察看呢！

且滿心相信神所應許的必能成就。

他說：「看哪，我老了，不知道哪一天死。現在拿你打獵的工具，就是箭囊和弓，到田野去為我打獵，照我所愛的做成美味，拿來給我吃，好讓我在未死之前為你祝福。」

親愛的，你們是客旅，是寄居的，我勸你們要禁戒肉體的情慾；這情慾是與靈魂爭戰的。

既然你們稱那不偏待人、按各人行為審判人的主為父，就當存敬畏的心，度你們在世寄居的日子。

約瑟對他的兄弟說：「我快要死了，但神必定看顧你們，領你們從這地上去，到他起誓應許給亞伯拉罕、以撒、雅各之地。」

雅各囑咐眾子完畢後，就把腳收在床上斷了氣，歸到他祖先那裏去了。

以賽亞因看見了他的榮耀，就說了關於他的這話。

權杖必不離猶大，統治者的杖必不離他兩腳之間，直等細羅來到，萬民都要歸順他。

這一切是以色列的十二個支派。這是他們的父親對他們所說的話，他按照各人的福分為他們祝福。
