But the more they were called, the more they went away from me. They sacrificed to the Baals and they burned incense to images.

But the more I called out to Israel, the more they went away from me. They brought sacrifices to the statues of the gods that were named Baal. And they burned incense to them.

The more they were called, the more they went away; they kept sacrificing to the Baals and burning offerings to idols.

But the more I called to him, the farther he moved from me, offering sacrifices to the images of Baal and burning incense to idols.

Israel called to the Egyptians even as Israel was leaving them. They kept sacrificing to the Baals and burning offerings to idols.

耶和華曰、越在疇昔、斯民焚香、奉事巴力、違逆乎我、譬彼婦女、以耳環金索、修飾自好、從其所懽、故我必加以罰、

我民忘予、焚香以敬偶像、舍平坦之舊道、而不由、行崎嶇之僻路、而顛趾。

彼與其祖、焚香山岡、辱我特甚、自取咎戾、我必罰之、適當其罪。

昔以色列族中、惟以法蓮為最著、出一言而眾懾、後崇巴力、蹈愆尤、大權旁落、今為惡益甚、匠人以巧捷之技、鎔銀鑄像、祭司命眾、敬彼犢像、接吻以為禮、

我民心偏、專背我旨、先知呼民、歸我至上之主、崇我者迄無一人、

爾之恆忍、歷年已久、以爾之神、感諸先知、訓迪斯民、彼不聽從、故爾使異邦人敗之。

居埃及、八羅之猶大人、男女眾多、咸至耶利米所、中有男子、知婦女焚香服事他上帝、告耶利米曰、爾藉耶和華名、傳諭於我、我不聽從、我所欲者我必為之、昔我列祖、王公、在猶大諸邑、耶路撒冷逵衢焚香灌奠、奉事天后、當時咸得果腹、所遇亨通、不遘患難、

斯邦之民、悖戾誕妄、不從我法、彼使先見者、毋庸明察、睹異象者、不以正道相勉、而以柔媚之詞相告、以虛誕之理相傳、離經畔道、以色列族之聖主、其名非所樂聞、

今爾當召以色列族眾、至加密山、亦召從巴力、佯為先知者、四百五十人、崇拜偶像、佯為先知為耶洗別之食客者四百人。

耶和華諭之曰、可從民言、彼不第棄爾、乃亦棄我、不欲我治理之。越在疇昔、我導斯民出於埃及、迄於今日、彼常棄我、服事他上帝、彼之待爾亦若是。今可從其言、加以訓誨、示以王之常例。

其列祖之上帝耶和華、矜憫其民、視其殿為貴重、數遣使訓誨之、彼譏上帝之使、藐視其命、侮其先知、干耶和華震怒、不復援手、

耶路撒冷乎、耶路撒冷乎、爾殺先知、石擊奉使者、我欲集爾赤子、似母雞集雛翼下、已幾何時、惟爾不欲、

摩西招以色列眾曰、昔在埃及、耶和華以災害異跡奇事、罰法老及臣、與其四境、爾所目擊。

耶和華遣其先知先見者、責以色列猶大二族、曰、當棄惡行、守我禁令禮儀、從我所命諸先知、傳爾列祖之律例、斯民弗聽、強項不馴、不信其上帝耶和華、與列祖無異。昔上帝與列祖立約、斯民背之、棄其所命、違其禮儀、崇事虛無、亦為放誕、四周之異邦人、耶和華曾命、勿效其尤、彼不聽從、反崇信焉、棄其上帝耶和華之命、鑄二金犢、樹立木偶、崇拜天象、奉事巴力、

以色列族再行惡於耶和華前、奉事巴力亞大綠、及敘利亞人西頓人摩押人亞捫人非利士人之上帝、棄耶和華而不服事。

從尼八子耶羅破暗所行、猶為細事、乃娶西頓王、謁巴力女、耶洗別為后、遂服事崇拜巴力、在撒馬利亞邑、建巴力殿、內築祭壇、以奉事之、

爾強項塞心充耳之人、恆逆聖神、爾祖所行、爾亦若是、

惟彼不從、強項難馴、掩耳不聽、

夫光臨世、而人作惡、愛暗過於光、此所以定罪也、

既從己意、八月之望定節期、使以色列族恪守、則在是月、於伯特利所作之壇、獻祭焚香。

爾勿效祖所為、古先知告之曰、萬有之主耶和華云、棄惡勿作、彼不聽從、

蓋背耶和華事巴力亞大綠、

上帝使我為基督之香、俾得救及沉淪臭之、沉淪者臭此、則為死之臭、致死、得救者臭此、則為生之香、致生、誰堪任此乎、

以色列族行惡於耶和華前、忘其上帝耶和華、事諸巴力亞大綠、
