The enemy said,‘ I will pursue, I will overtake, I will divide the spoils; I shall be satisfied against them; I will draw my sword, my hand will destroy them.’You blew with Your wind, the sea covered them; They sank like lead in the mighty waters.Who is like You among the gods, Lord? Who is like You, majestic in holiness, Awesome in praises, working wonders?You reached out with Your right hand, The earth swallowed them.

“ Therefore wait for Me,” declares the Lord,“ For the day when I rise up as a witness. Indeed, My decision is to gather nations, To assemble kingdoms, To pour out on them My indignation, All My burning anger; For all the earth will be devoured By the fire of My zeal.

Arise, Lord, in Your anger; Raise Yourself against the rage of my enemies, And stir Yourself for me; You have ordered judgment.

Then the Egyptians will know that I am the Lord, when I am honored through Pharaoh, through his chariots, and through his horsemen.”

Therefore the Lord, the God of armies, will send a wasting disease among his stout warriors; And under his glory a fire will be kindled like a burning flame.

Woe to those who are carefree in Zion, And to those who feel secure on the mountain of Samaria, The dignitaries of the foremost of nations, To whom the house of Israel comes.

Behold, the Lord, the God of armies, will lop off the branches with terrifying power; Those also who are tall in stature will be cut down, And those who are lofty will be brought low.

“ Stop striving and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted on the earth.”

Then the Lord awoke as if from sleep, Like a warrior overcome by wine.

One thousand will flee at the threat of one man; You will flee at the threat of five, Until you are left like a signal post on a mountain top, And like a flag on a hill.Therefore the Lord longs to be gracious to you, And therefore He waits on high to have compassion on you. For the Lord is a God of justice; How blessed are all those who long for Him.

For the Lord will vindicate His people, And will have compassion on His servants, When He sees that their strength is gone, And there is none remaining, bond or free.And He will say,‘ Where are their gods, The rock in which they took refuge?Those who ate the fat of their sacrifices, And drank the wine of their drink offering? Let them rise up and help you, Let them be your protection!See now that I, I am He, And there is no god besides Me; It is I who put to death and give life. I have wounded and it is I who heal, And there is no one who can save anyone from My hand.Indeed, I raise My hand to heaven, And say, as I live forever,If I have sharpened My flashing sword, And My hand has taken hold of justice, I will return vengeance on My adversaries, And I will repay those who hate Me.I will make My arrows drunk with blood, And My sword will devour flesh, With the blood of the slain and the captives, From the long haired leaders of the enemy.’Rejoice, you nations, with His people; For He will avenge the blood of His servants, And will return vengeance on His adversaries, And will atone for His land and His people.”

And He saw that there was no one, And was amazed that there was not one to intercede; Then His own arm brought salvation to Him, And His righteousness upheld Him.He put on righteousness like a breastplate, And a helmet of salvation on His head; And He put on garments of vengeance for clothing And wrapped Himself with zeal as a cloak.

You will arise and have compassion on Zion; For it is time to be gracious to her, For the appointed time has come.Surely Your servants take pleasure in her stones, And feel pity for her dust.So the nations will fear the name of the Lord, And all the kings of the earth, Your glory.For the Lord has built up Zion; He has appeared in His glory.He has turned His attention to the prayer of the destitute And has not despised their prayer.This will be written for the generation to come, That a people yet to be created may praise the Lord:
