For the grave cannot praise you, death cannot sing your praise; those who go down to the pit cannot hope for your faithfulness.

People in the grave can’t praise you. Dead people can’t sing praise to you. Those who go down to the grave can’t hope for you to be faithful to them.

For Sheol does not thank you; death does not praise you; those who go down to the pit do not hope for your faithfulness.

For the dead cannot praise you; they cannot raise their voices in praise. Those who go down to the grave can no longer hope in your faithfulness.

For Sheol cannot thank you; Death cannot praise you. Those who go down to the Pit cannot hope for your faithfulness.

For Sheol cannot thank You, Death cannot praise You; Those who go down to the pit cannot hope for Your faithfulness.

凡是你手可作的，都当尽力去作；因为在你所要去的阴间里，既没有工作，又没有筹谋；没有知识，也没有智慧。

因为在死亡之地无人记念你，在阴间有谁称谢你呢？

“我被害流血，下到深坑，有什么益处呢？尘土还能称赞你，还能传扬你的信实吗？

这样，他们和一切属他们的，都活活地下到阴间，地在他们上面合闭，他们就从会众中灭亡了。

恶人必因自己所行的恶事被推倒，义人死的时候仍有所倚靠。

他们要进入永远的刑罚，义人却要进入永生。”

不但这样，我们与你们之间，有深渊隔开，人想从这边过到你们那里是不可能的，从那边过到我们这边也是不可能的。’那人说：‘我祖啊，那么求你差遣拉撒路到我家里去，因为我有五个兄弟，他可以警告他们，免得他们也到这受苦的地方来。’亚伯拉罕说：‘他们有摩西和先知可以听从。’他说：‘不然，我祖亚伯拉罕啊，如果有人从死人中复活，到他们那里去，他们必定会悔改。’亚伯拉罕说：‘如果他们不听从摩西和先知，就算有一个从死人中复活的人，他们也不会接受劝告。’”

但本来要承受天国的人，反被丢在外面黑暗里，在那里必要哀哭切齿。”

死人不能赞美耶和华，下到阴间的不能赞美他。至于我们，我们要称颂耶和华，从现在直到永远。你们要赞美耶和华。

你要为死人行奇事吗？阴魂会起来称谢你吗？（细拉）在坟墓里有人述说你的慈爱吗？在灭亡之地（“灭亡之地”原文作“亚巴顿”）有人述说你的信实吗？
