No sooner are they planted, no sooner are they sown, no sooner do they take root in the ground, than he blows on them and they wither, and a whirlwind sweeps them away like chaff.

萬族怒號，好像眾水湧流，但神必斥責他們，使他們遠遠逃跑；他們又被追趕，如同山上風前的糠秕，又像暴風前的塵土捲動。

耶和華說：‘看哪，我必使災禍臨到你，除滅你的後代，在以色列中屬亞哈的男丁，無論是自由的，或是不自由的，我都要除滅。我要使你的家像尼八的兒子耶羅波安的家，又像亞希雅的兒子巴沙的家，因為你惹我發怒，又因為你使以色列人陷在罪中。’

因此，他們必像早晨的雲霧，又如易逝的朝露，又像打穀場上的糠秕被旋風吹去，又像煙氣從煙囪上騰。

耶和華這樣說：“你們要寫下，這人算為無子，他的一生毫無成就；因為他的後裔中沒有一人可以成功，能坐在大衛的王位上，再次統治猶大。”

耶和華必在他子民頭上顯現，他的箭必像閃電一般射出；主耶和華必吹起號角，乘著南方的暴風而行。

尼尼微啊！耶和華已經向你下了命令：你的名字必不再傳於後世；我必從你的神廟中，除掉雕刻和鑄造的偶像；我必為你預備墳墓，因為你沒有存在的價值。

草必枯乾，花必凋謝；因為耶和華的氣吹在上面；真的，這民的確是草！

我用旋風把他們吹散到他們不認識的列國去，他們留下的地就荒涼了，以致無人來往經過，因為他們使這美好之地變為荒涼了。”

於是耶戶擊殺了亞哈家在耶斯列剩下的人，還有他所有的大臣、有關的人、祭司，沒有一個給他存留。

耶和華的斥責一發，他鼻孔的氣一出，海底就出現，大地的根基也顯露。

他雖然在蘆葦中長得茂盛，但東風必要來到，耶和華的風要從曠野上來，他的水泉就乾涸，他的泉源就枯竭。他所貯藏的一切珍貴器皿，都被掠奪去了。

“你們期望豐收，反倒歉收；你們收到家裡的，我就吹去。”為甚麼呢？萬軍之耶和華說：“因為我的殿宇荒廢，你們各人卻為自己的房屋奔馳。

他下面的根枯乾，上面的枝子凋謝。他令人懷念的都從地上滅沒，他的名字不再留存在田上。他們把他從光明中趕到黑暗裡，又把他從世界中趕出去。在本族中他無子無孫，在他寄居之地，也沒有生存的人。

你們用荊棘燒火，鍋還未熱，他要用旋風把燒著的和未燒著的一起颳去。

他不能離開黑暗，火燄必燒乾他的嫩枝，他必因神口中的氣而離去。他不信靠虛假，自己欺騙自己，因為虛假必成為他的報應。他的日期未到以先，這事必成全，他的枝子，也不青綠。他必像葡萄樹未熟的葡萄掉落一樣，又如橄欖樹的花朵一開就謝一般。

卻要以公義審判貧窮人，以正直判斷地上的困苦人；以口中的杖擊打世界，以嘴裡的氣殺死惡人。

看哪！耶和華的旋風，在震怒中發出，是旋轉的狂風，必捲到惡人的頭上。

他們何嘗像風前的乾草，何嘗像暴風颳去的糠秕？

驚恐臨到你們好像風暴，災難如同颶風來臨，患難困苦臨到你們身上。

因為他們的祖宗犯了罪孽，你們要為他的子孫預備屠殺之處；不要讓他們興起來，佔有地土，在世上布滿城鎮。”萬軍之耶和華說：“我必興起攻擊他們，把巴比倫的名號、所剩餘的人，以及後裔子孫，都一同剪除。”這是耶和華說的。

他們因神的氣息而滅亡，因他的怒氣而消滅。

看哪！我必使靈進入他裡面，以致他聽見風聲就歸回本地；我必使他在那裡倒在刀下。’”

又在你栽種的日子裡，細心地在周圍圈上籬笆，到早晨，又使你所栽種的開花，但在愁苦與極度傷痛的日子裡，所收割的就只有一小堆。

因為陀斐特那燒著的火早已安排好了，是為君王預備的，又深又寬；其中所堆的，是火和許多的柴；耶和華的氣像一股硫磺火，把它燃點起來。
