我必不永远争辩，也不长久发怒，因为这样，人的灵，就是我所造的人，在我面前就要发昏。

我必不永远相争，也不长久发怒，恐怕我所造的人与灵性都必发昏。

我必不长久控诉，也不永远怀怒，因为我虽使灵性发昏，我也造了人的气息。

我不会永远指责，也不会一直发怒，以免世人——我所造的生灵昏倒。

我不常爭辯、不恆忿怒、恐我所造之人困憊、神性疲弊、

我之責人、不恆蓄怒、恐予所造之人、膽喪氣餒、

我必不永遠斥責、不恆久震怒、恐我所造之人、心神困憊、

I will not accuse them forever, nor will I always be angry, for then they would faint away because of me— the very people I have created.

I will not find fault with my people forever. I will not always be angry with them. If I were, I would cause their spirits to grow weak. The people I created would faint away.

For I will not contend forever, nor will I always be angry; for the spirit would grow faint before me, and the breath of life that I made.

For I will not fight against you forever; I will not always be angry. If I were, all people would pass away— all the souls I have made.

For I will not accuse you forever, and I will not always be angry; for then the spirit would grow weak before me, even the breath, which I have made.

For I will not contend forever, Nor will I always be angry; For the spirit would grow faint before Me, And the breath of those whom I have made.

有何神像你，赦免罪孽，不追究产业之余民的过犯呢？他不永远怀怒，因为他喜爱怜悯。

你要永远向我们发怒吗？你要延长你的怒气到万代吗？

他却有怜悯，赦免罪孽，没有把他们灭绝，并且多次抑制自己的怒气，没有完全宣泄他的烈怒。他顾念他们不过是人，是一阵吹去不再返回的风。

还有，肉身的父亲管教我们，我们尚且敬重他们；何况那万灵的父，我们不是更要顺服他而得生吗？

耶和华啊！求你只按着公正惩治我，不要按着你的忿怒施行惩治，免得你使我衰微。

他不长久责备，也不永远怀怒。他没有按着我们的罪过待我们，也没有照着我们的罪孽报应我们。天离地有多高，他的慈爱向敬畏他的人也有多大。东离西有多远，他使我们的过犯离我们也有多远。父亲怎样怜恤儿子，耶和华也照样怜恤敬畏他的人；因为他知道我们的本体，记得我们不过是尘土。至于世人，他的年日好像草一般；他又像野地繁茂的花。经风一吹，就归无有；他原来的地方再不认识他。

摩西和亚伦就俯伏在地，说：“神啊，万人之灵的神啊，一人犯罪，你就要向全体会众发怒吗？”

那创造诸天，展开穹苍，铺张大地和大地所出的一切，赐气息给地上的众人，又赐灵性给在地上行的人的耶和华神这样说：

耶和华说：“人既然是属肉体的，我的灵就不永远住在他里面，但他的日子还有一百二十年。”

于是西底家王私下向耶利米起誓，说：“我指着那创造我们生命的永活的耶和华起誓：我决不杀死你，也不把你交在这些寻索你性命的人的手里。”

尘土要归回原来之地，灵要归回赐灵的神。

以下是耶和华的默示，这是耶和华论到以色列的话（是耶和华的宣告，他铺张诸天，奠定大地的根基，造成人里面的灵）：

他若对人决心这样作，他若把灵与气收归自己，有血肉生命的就都一同气绝身亡，世人都归回尘土。
