Long ago you did some wonderful things we didn’t expect. You came down, and the mountains trembled when you showed your power.

When you did awesome things that we did not look for, you came down, the mountains quaked at your presence.

When you came down long ago, you did awesome deeds beyond our highest expectations. And oh, how the mountains quaked!

You answer us with awesome and righteous deeds, God our Savior, the hope of all the ends of the earth and of the farthest seas,who formed the mountains by your power, having armed yourself with strength, (niv)

And who is like your people Israel— the one nation on earth that God went out to redeem as a people for himself, and to make a name for himself, and to perform great and awesome wonders by driving out nations and their gods from before your people, whom you redeemed from Egypt? (niv)

Then the Lord said:“ I am making a covenant with you. Before all your people I will do wonders never before done in any nation in all the world. The people you live among will see how awesome is the work that I, the Lord, will do for you. (niv)
