Whoever restrains his words has knowledge, and he who has a cool spirit is a man of understanding.

Whoever keeps his mouth and his tongue keeps himself out of trouble.

When words are many, transgression is not lacking, but whoever restrains his lips is prudent.

If one gives an answer before he hears, it is his folly and shame.

Whoever is slow to anger has great understanding, but he who has a hasty temper exalts folly.

Whoever guards his mouth preserves his life; he who opens wide his lips comes to ruin.

Be angry and do not sin; do not let the sun go down on your anger,

Whoever is slow to anger is better than the mighty, and he who rules his spirit than he who takes a city.

A hot-tempered man stirs up strife, but he who is slow to anger quiets contention.

Better is the end of a thing than its beginning, and the patient in spirit is better than the proud in spirit.Be not quick in your spirit to become angry, for anger lodges in the heart of fools.

But now you must put them all away: anger, wrath, malice, slander, and obscene talk from your mouth.

Guard your steps when you go to the house of God. To draw near to listen is better than to offer the sacrifice of fools, for they do not know that they are doing evil.Be not rash with your mouth, nor let your heart be hasty to utter a word before God, for God is in heaven and you are on earth. Therefore let your words be few.For a dream comes with much business, and a fool’s voice with many words.

Good sense makes one slow to anger, and it is his glory to overlook an offense.

Let all bitterness and wrath and anger and clamor and slander be put away from you, along with all malice.

And let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, to which indeed you were called in one body. And be thankful.

Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruits.

A man of quick temper acts foolishly, and a man of evil devices is hated.

But I say to you that everyone who is angry with his brother will be liable to judgment; whoever insults his brother will be liable to the council; and whoever says,‘ You fool!’ will be liable to the hell of fire.

idolatry, sorcery, enmity, strife, jealousy, fits of anger, rivalries, dissensions, divisions,envy, drunkenness, orgies, and things like these. I warn you, as I warned you before, that those who do such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.
