For this is what the Lord says about the palace of the king of Judah:“ Though you are like Gilead to me, like the summit of Lebanon, I will surely make you like a wasteland, like towns not inhabited.

The Lord speaks about the palace of the king of Judah. He says,“ You are like the land of Gilead to me. You are like the highest mountain in Lebanon. But I will make you like a desert. You will become like towns that no one lives in.

For thus says the Lord concerning the house of the king of Judah:“‘ You are like Gilead to me, like the summit of Lebanon, yet surely I will make you a desert, an uninhabited city.

Now this is what the Lord says concerning Judah’s royal palace:“ I love you as much as fruitful Gilead and the green forests of Lebanon. But I will turn you into a desert, with no one living within your walls.

For this is what the LORD says concerning the house of the king of Judah:“ You are like Gilead to me, or the summit of Lebanon, but I will certainly turn you into a wilderness, uninhabited cities.

For this is what the Lord says concerning the house of the king of Judah:“ You are like Gilead to Me, Like the summit of Lebanon; Yet most assuredly I will make you a wilderness, Cities that are not inhabited.

For thus says the Lord to the house of the king of Judah:“ You are Gilead to Me, The head of Lebanon; Yet I surely will make you a wilderness, Cities which are not inhabited.

For thus saith Jehovah concerning the house of the king of Judah: Thou art Gilead unto me, and the head of Lebanon; yet surely I will make thee a wilderness, and cities which are not inhabited.

For this is what the Lord says concerning the house of the king of Judah: You are like Gilead to Me, or the summit of Lebanon, but I will certainly turn you into a wilderness, uninhabited cities.

For thus saith the LORD unto the king’s house of Judah; Thou[ art] Gilead unto me,[ and] the head of Lebanon:[ yet] surely I will make thee a wilderness,[ and] cities[ which] are not inhabited.

“‘ For the LORD says concerning the palace of the king of Judah,“ This place looks like a veritable forest of Gilead to me. It is like the wooded heights of Lebanon in my eyes. But I swear that I will make it like a wilderness whose towns have all been deserted.

For Yahweh says concerning the house of the king of Judah:“ You are Gilead to me, the head of Lebanon. Yet surely I will make you a wilderness, cities which are not inhabited.

我就說：「主啊，這到幾時為止呢？」他說：「直到城鎮荒涼，無人居住，房屋空無一人，土地極其荒蕪；

使肥沃之地變為荒蕪的鹽地，都因當地居民的邪惡。

因為堅固的城變為荒涼，成了被撇棄的居所，像曠野一樣；牛犢在那裏吃草，在那裏躺臥，吃盡其中的樹枝。

那時，我必止息猶大城鎮和耶路撒冷街上歡喜和快樂的聲音、新郎和新娘的聲音，因為這地必然荒蕪。」

我必使耶路撒冷成為廢墟，為野狗的住處，也必使猶大的城鎮荒廢，無人居住。

「當猶大王希西家的日子，有摩利沙人彌迦對猶大眾百姓預言說：『萬軍之耶和華如此說：錫安要被耕種像一塊田地，耶路撒冷要變為廢墟，這殿的山必像叢林的高處。』

他們坐下吃飯，舉目觀看，看哪，有一羣以實瑪利人從基列來，用駱駝馱着香料、乳香、沒藥，要帶下埃及去。

求你讓我過去，看約旦河另一邊的美地，就是那佳美的山區和黎巴嫩。』

我就必使這殿如示羅，使這城成為地上萬國所詛咒的。』」耶利米在耶和華殿中所說的這些話，祭司、先知與眾百姓都聽見了。耶利米說完了耶和華吩咐他對眾百姓說的一切話，祭司、先知與眾百姓都來抓住他，說：「你該死！你為何假借耶和華的名預言，說這殿必如示羅，這城必荒廢無人居住呢？」於是眾百姓都聚集在耶和華的殿中圍住耶利米。

我必按你們行事的結果懲罰你們，也必使火在耶路撒冷的林中燃起，將四圍所有的盡行燒滅。這是耶和華說的。」

你要對他們這樣說，主耶和華如此說：我指着我的永生起誓，在廢墟的，必倒在刀下；在田野的，必交給野獸吞吃；在堡壘和洞中的，必遭瘟疫而死。我必使這地荒廢荒涼，它驕傲的權勢也必止息；以色列的山都必荒廢，無人經過。

看哪，我必召北方的眾族和我僕人巴比倫王尼布甲尼撒前來攻擊這地和這地的居民，並四圍所有的國民。我要將他們盡行滅絕，以致他們令人驚駭、嗤笑，並且永久荒涼。這是耶和華說的。我又要止息他們歡喜和快樂的聲音、新郎和新娘的聲音、推磨的聲音和燈的亮光。

毀壞的信息不斷傳來，因為全地荒廢。我的帳棚忽然毀壞，我的幔子頃刻破裂。

耶和華說：「約雅敬的兒子猶大王哥尼雅，雖是我右手上帶印的戒指，我憑我的永生起誓，我必將你從其上摘下來。

看哪，耶和華使地空虛，變為荒蕪，地面扭曲，居民四散。那時，百姓如何，祭司也如何；僕人如何，主人也如何；婢女如何，主母也如何；買主如何，賣主也如何；放債的如何，借貸的也如何；債主如何，欠債的也如何。地必全然空虛，盡都荒蕪，因為這話是耶和華說的。大地悲哀凋零，世界敗落衰殘，地上居高位的人也沒落了。地被其上的居民所污穢，因為他們犯了律法，廢了律例，背了永約。所以，詛咒吞滅大地，住在其上的都有罪；地上的居民被火焚燒，剩下的人稀少。

他的腿好比白玉石柱，安在精金座上；他的容貌如黎巴嫩，佳美如香柏樹。

「至於猶大王的家，你們當聽耶和華的話。

我要在這地方使猶大和耶路撒冷的計謀落空，也必使他們在仇敵面前倒在刀下，倒在尋索其命的人手下。我要把他們的屍首給空中的飛鳥和地上的走獸作食物。我必使這城令人驚駭嘲笑；凡路過的，必因這城所遭的災難驚駭嘲笑。
