As Sodom and Gomorrah were overthrown, along with their neighboring towns,” says the Lord,“ so no one will live there; no people will dwell in it.

遍地都被硫磺和鹽所侵蝕，不能耕種，沒有出產，連草都長不出來，好像耶和華在怒氣和憤怒中所傾覆的所多瑪、蛾摩拉、押瑪、洗扁一樣，

夏瑣必成為野狗的住處，永遠荒廢；無人住在那裏，也無人在其中寄居。

巴比倫要像神所傾覆的所多瑪、蛾摩拉和鄰近的城鎮一樣，必無人住在那裏，也無人在其中寄居。這是耶和華說的。

「我傾覆你們，如同神從前傾覆所多瑪、蛾摩拉一樣；你們好像從火中搶救出來的一根柴，你們仍不歸向我。」這是耶和華說的。

不屬他的必住在他的帳棚裏，硫磺必撒在他所住之處。下邊，他的根要枯乾；上邊，他的枝子要剪除。他的稱號從地上消失，他的名字不在街上存留。他必從光明中被驅逐到黑暗裏，他必被趕出世界。

萬軍之耶和華－以色列的神說：因此，我指着我的永生起誓：摩押必如所多瑪，亞捫人必像蛾摩拉，都變為刺草、鹽坑、永遠荒廢之地。我百姓中剩餘的必擄掠他們，我國中的倖存者必得他們的地。

當時，耶和華把硫磺與火，從天上耶和華那裏降與所多瑪和蛾摩拉，把那些城和全平原，城裏所有的居民和土地上生長的，都毀滅了。

既然神判決了所多瑪和蛾摩拉，將二城傾覆，焚燒成灰，作為後世不敬虔人的鑒戒，

同樣，所多瑪、蛾摩拉和周圍城鎮的人也跟着他們一樣犯淫亂，隨從逆性的情慾，以致遭受永不熄滅之火的懲罰，作為眾人的鑒戒。

晝夜總不熄滅，它的煙永遠上騰，必世世代代成為荒廢，永永遠遠無人經過。

巴比倫為列國的榮耀，為迦勒底人所誇耀的華美，必像神所傾覆的所多瑪、蛾摩拉一樣；國中必永無人煙，世世代代無人居住；阿拉伯人不在那裏支搭帳棚，牧羊的人也不使羊羣躺臥在那裏。曠野的走獸躺臥在那裏，咆哮的動物擠滿棲身之所；鴕鳥住在那裏，山羊鬼魔也在那裏跳舞。土狼必在它的宮殿呼號，野狗在華美的殿裏吼叫。巴比倫的時辰臨近了，它的日子必不長久。

他要向惡人密佈羅網，烈火、硫磺、熱風作他們杯中的份。

有一位大力的天使舉起一塊石頭，好像大磨石，扔在海裏，說：「巴比倫大城也必這樣猛力地被扔下去，絕對見不到了。彈琴、歌唱、吹笛、吹號的聲音，在你中間絕對聽不見了；各行手藝的技工在你中間絕對見不到了；推磨的聲音在你中間絕對聽不見了；燈臺的光在你中間絕對不再照耀了；新郎和新娘的聲音在你中間絕對聽不見了。你的商人原來是地上的顯要；萬國也被你的邪術迷惑了。
