The prophets are but wind and the word is not in them; so let what they say be done to them.”

The prophets are nothing but wind. Their message doesn’t come from the Lord. So let what they say will happen be done to them.”

耶利米曰、主耶和華與、諸偽先知曾告斯民、必不飲刃、不受饑、安居斯土、永獲平康、出於耶和華所賜。

人曰、祭司有律例、智士有箴規、先知有預言、如耶利米其言不可信、予當批其頰、而謀害之。

爾意欲即我所言、以相詰責、不知絕望之人、言等飄風。

如我傳耶和華之命、呼告斯民、必遭強據、必見俘囚、斯民也侮予欺予、靡有已時。如我言不藉爾名、而言斯事、則我中心如焚、爍於骨髓、不復能忍。我聞眾民、訕謗我躬、隨在驚惶、彼此傳語、聲罪辱我、我之友朋、望我趑趄、云、或可誘而勝之、以雪我忿。惟耶和華威武可畏、左右余躬、窘逐我者、必遭躓蹶、永不亨通、懷羞抱愧、歷世莫掩其醜。

昔巴比倫王尼布甲尼撒遷我殿之器皿、自斯邑至巴比倫、若二載之期已屆、我必返之於故土。

降災罰惡、其日已屆、以色列族必知之、因犯罪惡、蓄怨不已、故彼冒為先知、佯托感神、卒見愚蠢、而發狂疾、
