Remember what I told you:‘ A servant is not greater than his master.’ If they persecuted me, they will persecute you also. If they obeyed my teaching, they will obey yours also.

Remember what I told you. I said,‘ A slave is not more important than his master.’( John 13:16) If people hated me and tried to hurt me, they will do the same to you. If they obeyed my teaching, they will obey yours also.

凡真心奉事基督耶穌、而實踐其道者、靡有不遭受危難迫辱。

予剴切告爾、僕不能大於其主、奉命者不能大於授命者。

弟不能超乎其師、僕不能超乎其主；

斯輩猶太人既殘殺主耶穌基督及眾先知、又復逐我同人、實天主之逆子、而人類之公敵也。

備受窘逐、而未為天主所棄也；飽嘗磨折、而未見消滅也；

躬自操作、不遑寧處；被人詬誶、我則福之；被人凌虐、我則耐之；

猶太人復拾石、欲投之、

今希祿與般雀‧比辣多果率異邦及義塞之人民、群集於城、反抗爾之聖子耶穌即爾所膏沐、以奉行爾所手訂之聖謨者也。祈主一視彼眾之威脅、使爾僕以大無畏精神、宣揚爾道；求爾援手、俾治疾病、並托聖子耶穌之名以行神蹟。』

先知孰不為爾祖所凌辱乎？先知豫報聖者之來而爾祖殺之；今聖者已至、而爾曹又鬻而殺之矣！爾曹受天神所傳授之律法、而莫之守也。』眾聞是語對司諦文痛心疾首、忿恚滋甚。司諦文充滿聖神凝視上天、見天主榮耀、又見耶穌立於天主之右，即曰：『盍觀乎！予見諸天洞開矣！人子立於天主之右！』眾厲聲狂呼、自掩其耳、蠭擁而前、推之出城、以石擊之；為證者置其衣於一少年之足前、少年者掃羅也。眾方投石、司諦文呼籲天主曰：『乞主耶穌納予神魂！』又跪而呼曰：『主乎！勿將此罪歸於彼眾！』言畢即安然長眠。此固掃羅之所樂睹也。

猶太人以耶穌禮日行此、群起而攻之。

予剴切告爾、人守吾道、永不嘗死亡之味。』

眾乃拾石以投之、耶穌遂隱身出殿。

西默翁祝之、謂聖母曰：『此子之誕生、義塞眾人之禍福興亡繫焉。斯天下之正鵠、而又眾矢之的也。

法利塞人風聞此種輿論、於是會同司祭諸長、遣發隸役以執耶穌、

弟子不能超乎其師、然學養既深、則可與師並駕齊驅矣。
