He alone stretches out the heavens and treads on the waves of the sea.

He’s the only one who can spread out the heavens. He alone can walk on the waves of the ocean.

who alone stretched out the heavens and trampled the waves of the sea;

He alone has spread out the heavens and marches on the waves of the sea.

He covers himself with light as if it were a garment. He stretches out the skies like a tent curtain,and lays the beams of the upper rooms of his palace on the rain clouds. He makes the clouds his chariot, and travels along on the wings of the wind.

This is what the LORD, your protector, says, the one who formed you in the womb:“ I am the LORD, who made everything, who alone stretched out the sky, who fashioned the earth all by myself,

He is the one who sits on the earth’s horizon; its inhabitants are like grasshoppers before him. He is the one who stretches out the sky like a thin curtain, and spreads it out like a pitched tent.

will you, with him, spread out the clouds, solid as a mirror of molten metal?

The revelation of the word of the LORD concerning Israel: The LORD– he who stretches out the heavens and lays the foundations of the earth, who forms the human spirit within a person– says,

As the night was ending, Jesus came to them walking on the sea.When the disciples saw him walking on the water they were terrified and said,“ It’s a ghost!” and cried out with fear.But immediately Jesus spoke to them:“ Have courage! It is I. Do not be afraid.”Peter said to him,“ Lord, if it is you, order me to come to you on the water.”So he said,“ Come.” Peter got out of the boat, walked on the water, and came toward Jesus.But when he saw the strong wind he became afraid. And starting to sink, he cried out,“ Lord, save me!”

You people of Israel should tell those nations this:‘ These gods did not make heaven and earth. They will disappear from the earth and from under the heavens.’

when I said,‘ To here you may come and no farther, here your proud waves will be confined’?

The waves roar, O LORD, the waves roar, the waves roar and crash.Above the sound of the surging water, and the mighty waves of the sea, the LORD sits enthroned in majesty.

God said,“ Let there be an expanse in the midst of the waters and let it separate water from water.So God made the expanse and separated the water under the expanse from the water above it. It was so.

This is what the true God, the LORD, says– the one who created the sky and stretched it out, the one who fashioned the earth and everything that lives on it, the one who gives breath to the people on it, and life to those who live on it:

Then, when they had rowed about three or four miles, they caught sight of Jesus walking on the lake, approaching the boat, and they were frightened.

You walked through the sea; you passed through the surging waters, but left no footprints.

By the LORD’s decree the heavens were made; by a mere word from his mouth all the stars in the sky were created.
