But Jesus said,“ You feed them.”“ But we have only five loaves of bread and two fish,” they answered.“ Or are you expecting us to go and buy enough food for this whole crowd?”

有施舍的，钱财增添；吝惜过度，反致穷乏。慷慨待人，必然丰裕；滋润人的，连自己也得滋润。

有一个人从巴力‧沙利沙来，带着初熟果子的食物、二十个大麦做的饼和新麦穗，装在袋子里送给神人。神人说：“把这些给大家吃。”仆人说：“这些岂可摆在一百人面前呢？”以利沙说：“你只管给大家吃吧！因为耶和华如此说，他们必吃了，还有剩下的。”

摩西说：“跟我在一起的百姓，步行的男人就有六十万，你还说：‘我要把肉赐给他们，使他们可以整整吃一个月。’难道宰了羊群牛群，就够给他们吗？或者把海中所有的鱼都捕来，就够给他们吗？”耶和华对摩西说：“耶和华的膀臂岂是缩短了吗？现在你要看我的话向你应验不应验。”

耶稣对他们说：“不用他们去，你们给他们吃吧！”门徒说：“我们这里只有五个饼、两条鱼。”

耶稣回答他们说：“你们给他们吃吧！”门徒对他说：“我们要拿两百个银币去买饼给他们吃吗？”耶稣说：“你们有多少饼？去看看。”他们知道后就说：“有五个，还有两条鱼。”

耶稣举目看见一大群人来，就对腓力说：“我们到哪里去买饼给这些人吃呢？”他说这话是要考验腓力，他自己原知道要怎样做。腓力回答他：“就是两百个银币的饼也不够给他们每人吃一点点。”有一个门徒，就是西门‧彼得的弟弟安得烈，对耶稣说：“这里有一个孩子，带着五个大麦饼和两条鱼，但是分给这么多人还算什么呢？”
