所以，耶穌不再公開在猶太人中走動，卻離開那裏，往靠近曠野的鄉間去，到了一座城，名叫以法蓮，就在那裏和門徒住下來。

耶穌和門徒退到海邊去，有許多人從加利利跟隨他。還有許多人聽見他所做的事，就從猶太、耶路撒冷、以土買、約旦河的東邊，以及推羅和西頓的附近地方來到他那裏。

我們行善不可喪志，因為若不灰心，到了適當的時候就有收成。

你們蒙召就是為此，因為基督也為你們受過苦，給你們留下榜樣，為要使你們跟隨他的腳蹤。

耶穌和他們下了山，站在一塊平地上；在一起的有許多門徒，又有許多百姓從全猶太和耶路撒冷，並推羅、西頓的海邊來，都要聽他講道，又希望耶穌醫治他們的病；還有被污靈纏磨的，也得了醫治。眾人都想要摸他，因為有能力從他身上發出來，治好了他們。

在那些日子，耶穌出去，上山祈禱，整夜向神禱告。

趁着白日，我們必須做差我來的那位的工；黑夜來到，就沒有人能做工了。

耶穌所到的地方，或村中、或城裏、或鄉間，他們都把病人放在街市上，求耶穌讓他們摸一摸他的衣裳繸子，摸着的人就都好了。

耶穌走遍加利利，在各會堂裏教導人，宣講天國的福音，醫治百姓各樣的疾病。他的名聲傳遍了敘利亞。那裏的人把一切病人，就是有各樣疾病和疼痛的、被鬼附的、癲癇的、癱瘓的，都帶了來，耶穌就治好了他們。當時，有一大羣人從加利利、低加坡里、耶路撒冷、猶太、約旦河的東邊，來跟從他。
