加以警戒、使服爾律、惟彼驕矜、不從爾命、爾之律例、人遵之則得生、彼乃犯之、強項背逆、不肯聽從、

加以訓誨、使服爾律例、彼妄自誇大、不從爾命、爾之法度、遵之者則得生、彼故犯之、強項難馴、背命不聽。

加以警戒、使復服主之律法、乃彼狂妄、不從主之誡命、干犯主之法度、人若遵之必得生、彼乃違背強項、不欲聽從、

“ You warned them in order to turn them back to your law, but they became arrogant and disobeyed your commands. They sinned against your ordinances, of which you said,‘ The person who obeys them will live by them.’ Stubbornly they turned their backs on you, became stiff- necked and refused to listen.

“ You warned them so that they would obey your law again. But they became proud. They didn’t obey your commands. They sinned against your rules. You said,‘ Anyone who obeys my rules will live by them.’ But the people didn’t care about that. They turned their backs on you. They became very stubborn. They refused to listen to you.

And you warned them in order to turn them back to your law. Yet they acted presumptuously and did not obey your commandments, but sinned against your rules, which if a person does them, he shall live by them, and they turned a stubborn shoulder and stiffened their neck and would not obey.

“ You warned them to return to your Law, but they became proud and obstinate and disobeyed your commands. They did not follow your regulations, by which people will find life if only they obey. They stubbornly turned their backs on you and refused to listen.

但我们的祖先行事狂傲，顽固不化，不肯听从你的诫命。

你们要遵守我的典章和律例。遵行的人必存活。我是耶和华。

“然而，他们不顺从你，背叛你，把你的律法抛在背后，又杀掉劝诫他们归向你的众先知，大大亵渎了你。

就行神迹奇事对付法老及其所有的臣仆和国民，因为你知道他们对以色列人行事狂傲。你使自己威名远扬直到今日。

但上帝赐给我们更大的恩典，所以圣经上说：“上帝阻挡骄傲的人，恩待谦卑的人。”因此，你们要服从上帝，抵挡魔鬼，魔鬼必逃离你们。你们亲近上帝，上帝就必亲近你们。有罪的人啊，洗净你们的手吧！三心二意的人啊，洁净你们的心吧！你们要悲伤、忧愁、痛哭，转欢笑为悲哀，变欢乐为愁苦。你们要在主面前谦卑，祂必擢升你们。

他们却不理会，背过身去，充耳不闻，心如铁石，不遵从律法，也不遵从万军之耶和华借着祂的灵指示从前的先知所说的话。因此，万军之耶和华非常愤怒。

何沙雅的儿子亚撒利雅、加利亚的儿子约哈难和一些狂妄之徒对耶利米说：“你在撒谎！我们的上帝耶和华并没有派你来告诉我们不可去埃及住。

“以色列的上帝——万军之耶和华说，‘看啊，我要把我说过的灾祸降在这城及其周围的村庄，因为他们顽固不化，不肯听我的话。’”

“从犹大王亚们的儿子约西亚执政第十三年，到今天已有二十三年。在这期间，我不断把耶和华对我说的话传给你们，你们却充耳不闻。耶和华屡次差遣祂的仆人——众先知警告你们，你们却充耳不闻，毫不理会。他们对你们说，‘要改邪归正，停止作恶，以便可以永远住在耶和华赐给你们和你们祖先的土地上。不要随从、供奉、祭拜其他神明，不要制造神像惹耶和华发怒，免得祂惩罚你们。’”耶和华说：“然而，你们不听我的话，制造神像惹我发怒，自招惩罚。”

然而，他们却不听，毫不理会，顽固不化，不肯受教。

但你们掩耳不听，顽固不化，比你们的祖先更邪恶。

所以，我差遣先知用我的话杀戮你们，我的审判必如闪电临到你们。

你们至今既不悔悟也不惧怕，不遵行我给你们和你们祖先设立的律法和诫命。

耶和华说话了，你们要留心听，不可傲慢。趁着你们的上帝耶和华还未使黑暗来临，你们还未在漆黑的山上绊倒，要把荣耀归给祂。否则，祂必使你们期望的光明变为幽冥和黑暗。如果你们因为骄傲而不肯听，我会暗自哭泣、泪流满面，因为耶和华的子民将要被掳。

律法却不是以信心为本，而是说：“遵行的人必存活。”

“我们不会听从你奉耶和华的名对我们说的话。但我们必照所许的愿向天后烧香奠酒，正如我们和我们的祖先、君王和官长在犹大各城和耶路撒冷街上所做的一样。那时，我们食物充足，生活幸福，无灾无祸。

但他变得心高气傲、刚愎自用、狂妄自大，因而被革除王位、剥去尊荣。

摩西和亚伦便进宫去见法老，对他说：“希伯来人的上帝耶和华说，‘你要到什么时候才肯在我面前谦卑下来，让我的子民离开这里去事奉我？

当许多祸患和灾难临到他们的时候，这首歌就要成为指控他们的证据，因为这首歌要在他们的子孙中世代流传。虽然我还没有带领他们进入我起誓应许之地，我已经知道他们的心思意念。”

但耶和华仍然派先知到他们中间，引导他们归向祂。先知警告他们，他们却不听。

否则，今天我叫天地作证，你们必很快从约旦河对面将要占领的土地上灭亡，你们必被彻底消灭，不得在那里长久居住。

耶稣说：“你答得对，照着去做就有永生了。”

关于律法的义，摩西写道：“人若遵行律法的诫命，就必活着。”

他们祖先的上帝耶和华因为怜爱祂的子民和祂的居所，就不断派使者来劝告他们。

耶和华借着祂的众先知和先见警告以色列人和犹大人说：“你们要离开恶道，遵守我的诫命和律例，即我吩咐你们祖先遵守并借着我的仆人——众先知传给你们的律法。”

向他们颁布我的律例和典章，若有人遵守，就必活着。
